- The Ace: He’s easily one of the best XB players in Neo Tokyo.
- Decoy Protagonist: Dies at the end of episode 3.
- Mentor Occupational Hazard: Acts as a mentor to Haru and Taiga, but dies three episodes in.
- The Nicknamer: He calls Haru "Boring" and Taiga "Tuna".

Voiced by: Shun Horie (JP), Casey Mongillo (EN)
- Character Development: Starts out shy and timid, but becomes more confident in himself as the series progresses.
- Cowardly Lion: A timid boy who’s nonetheless fiercely loyal to the Minato Tribe and willing to play for them.

- Tragic Keepsake: Inherits Shun’s beam bat after he dies.
Taiga
Voiced by: Chiharu Sawashiro (JP), Phillip Sacramento (EN)
- Dumb Muscle: Not the brightest bulb, but his strength more than makes up for it.
- Fiery Redhead: A redhead and a Hot-Blooded XB enthusiast.
- Fighting Irish: Has an Irish accent in the English dub and the fighting spirit to go along with it.
- Foil: To Haru. Both are new to XB and train under Shun, but while Haru is timid and shy, he’s loud and arrogant.
- Not Distracted by the Sexy: His response to being massaged by three scantily-clad women? Brush them off and run off to go find Hanafuda.
- Super-Strength: In the second half of the series, he gains this after undergoing serious training. It’s strong enough that, if he swings a bat, the air currents he creates will blast the ball away whether or not he hits it.

The Quadruplets
Voiced by: Joshua Waters (EN)
