Deceased Characters

    Saiko Kira
An evil Puella Magi who murdered Tate and caused Kagami to witch out, but died to her witch.
  • Back from the Dead: Downplayed. She returns as a spirit instead, and prefers to stay out of sight.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Had a sister by the name Ayema, and didn’t want her to die or become a Witch.
  • Face Death with Dignity: Shows no fear from dying to Gwennifer, only acceptance that in this game of "survival of the fittest", she would end up on the losing end eventually.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: Seeing a Puella Magi Witch Out was what prompted her to become a scavenger and go after weakened Puella Magi to turn them into Witches and harvest their Grief Seeds. It's later revealed that this Puella Magi was Chika Aoba.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Does someone whose name sounds like and translates to "psycho killer" sound friendly?
  • Posthumous Character: She's dead by the time the story begins, and because her Soul Gem was destroyed, she cannot be revived. She does return as a spirit to live with her sister again, but deeply regrets what she did and keeps a very low profile.

    Kyokai and Kuruso Kou

Seinaru's parents. They died long before the story began, but Madoka allows him to see them again.

  • Death by Origin Story: They died when Seinaru was three years old in a bombing.
  • Good Parents: Based upon what Seinaru has said, they were very good parents.
  • Posthumous Character: They’re long dead when the story begins- but they meet Seinaru again as spirits. They also come to Purity City as spirits later on.

    Yoi

The cruel man who ran the orphanage Seinaru spent his childhood in.

  • Hate Sink: In Seinaru’s eyes. He never has anything good to say about Yoi, and his personality becomes spiteful whenever he talks about him.
  • Ironic Name: "Yoi" translates to nice. This man is anything but.
  • Orphanage of Fear: He mistreated every single orphan in his care- and Seinaru got it worse from him.
  • Posthumous Character: Seinaru mentions that he died in a car accident before the story began. Later, it’s revealed that that car was the same one Mami’s parents were driving.

Deadly Sins

    Leviathan
The Sin of Envy who was sealed into Joi’s heart by a cult. When he’s active, Joi turns into a fish person.—-

Purity City Residents/Visitors

    CARDINAL
A supercomputer recovered from an old civilization. It's in charge of salvaging new buildings to use.

    Crimson Blouse Units
A group of guardian units dedicated to protecting Purity City.
  • Jack of All Trades: They’re programmed to use every weapon that a Puella Magi has ever used. When they confront Momoka, assuming her to be an enemy, they use all five weapons wielded by the Holy Quintet- swapping out Homura’s bevy of firearms for blaster pistols.
  • Redshirt Army: Their purpose. They're also not actually sentient aside from being mouthpieces for CARDINAL, though his designing them with lolita dresses doesn't help with that impression.

    Sakaki Shirumono

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image0_17.jpeg
The Friendly Mob Boss

Former leader of a small Yakuza clan that also sheltered Potaru Hyuuga and Akiko Snowdon. Was decimated down to eight members after the former Witched Out, forcing the latter to take her down and revealing her secret to them.

  • Big Brother Instinct: Holds this dynamic with Potaru and Akiko.
  • Expy: Of Giovanni Potage from Epithet Erased, given his pink hair, his affinity with crime and soup, though Nightelf 37 describes his appearance to be a younger Goro Majima with both of his eyes.
  • A Father to His Men: He’s very caring towards his minions.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Downplayed compared to the characters they're based on since Sakaki's younger and Akiko's a bit older.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname roughly translates to "Soup".
  • One-Note Cook: Proficient with cooking soup that he was busy working the soup kitchen and didn't want to leave it for Purity City without finding a suitable apprentice/replacement. He manages to join later after Kako is saved.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Apart from wearing his (natural) pink hair with pride (having been teased about it in his younger years), he's also a proficient soup chef.
  • The Unmasking: He and his remaining clan are exposed to the existence of Puella Magi after Potaru Witches Out and decimates almost everyone else before Akiko puts her down, revealing her own status as a Puella Magi.

    The Six Goons
Rei Kurashiki, Tasuki Hono, Ben Watanabe, Daisuke Uchikudaku, "Kasui", and "Kuroi Hoshi". The survivors of Sakaki's clan after Potaru witched out and killed almost everyone else before Akiko took her down.
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: Ben taught Akiko and Potaru how to throw punches (though this was before their identities as Puella Magi were revealed). He is considering extending this service to others in Purity City as well.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Rei, though thankfully there hasn't been any need for him to drive in Purity City yet.
  • Expy: Of Giovanni's Boys from Epithet Erased. Rei is based on Car Crash, Tasuki on Flamethrower, Ben on Ben, Daisuke on Crusher, "Kasui" on Spike, and "Kuroi Hoshi" on Dark Star.
  • Known Only by Their Nickname: "Kasui" and "Kuroi Hoshi".
  • Ninja: "Kuroi Hoshi" may or may not be one. Either way, he pretends he isn't and appears to be failing at that.
  • Twofer Token Minority: "Kasui" is the only non-Magi female in what remains of Sakaki's clan.
  • Undying Loyalty: All of them were willing to stay with Sakaki and Akiko even after Quilby's rampage reduced their numbers down to just the eight of them.
  • Unmanly Secret: Tasuki does gymnasts on his off time, but excuses them as flexibility exercises.
  • The Unmasking: Same as Sakaki.

    Boyfriend and Girlfriend
The two stars of Friday Night Funkin'. They visit Purity City while Seinaru's on his second date with Inori. Their full names are ”Boyfriend.XML” and "Girlfriend Gearest".
  • Canon Welding: The events of the Vs. Mami mod happened in this timeline, as Boyfriend vividly remembers singing with her and seeing her enter her Holy form. He also mentions the upcoming week where he faces Charlotte, with Seinaru warning him to be cautious around her. Girlfriend even has the ability to summon the speakers she usually sits on, which the mod establishes that she can do.
  • Guest Fighter: They aren’t even from a Magical Girl anime.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Boyfriend can speak here, with an author's note advising the reader to imagine him talking like how he does in Friday Night Funkin' WITH LYRICS.

    Matsuri and Meirei Shinsetsu
Inori’s parents. They’re just as devout as she is.
  • Connected All Along: They both knew Seinaru’s parents, and were present at his baby shower.
  • Good Parents: They treat Inori very well, and give her as much Christian media as possible.
  • The Unmasking: Inori tells them that she is a Puella Magi, and they are shocked to discover this. They had previously believed she had gone missing after she witched out.

    Memoria
A spirit who makes Memoria cards for the Magi to use and recalls their memories.
  • The Omniscient: She knows everything that has ever happened to a Puella Magi.

    Fei and Xinyi Chun
Meiyui’s parents. When she’s near them, her inner child shows.

    Keiko Oki

    Thunder Storm
A noncombatant from the Equestria Girls world. Canterlot High's designated pyrotechnician and associate of Pinkie and Trixie.

  • The Nicknamer: After having difficulty with the Purificators' number-names and viewing calling them by their numbers as "impersonal and rude", he set about giving nicknames to them. What started out as an effort to remember them based on their looks and a little bit of spite towards what he called the "Nine Fuzzy Buttfaces" became so much more.

    Ayema Sato
Saiko’s sister. She retired from being a Puella Magi when she learned what became of her sister.

Story Crew

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d34ge7o_5a402454_cbfc_404d_9c90_306b734bb0ea.png

A multiversal organization that monitors all "stories" and broadcasts them to other worlds.

  • Evil Counterpart: They have a rival origination called the Book Troop, who typically monitor worlds with a Villain Protagonist. They first come to the attention of the heroes when one of their agents strengthens Dark Opal and gives him the powers of his mainline counterpart.
  • Fiction Identity Postulate: Runs on this idea and are essentially the cause of why the exploits of other works make it to other universes in the form of stories. They’re also working with the Purifacators, but have requested that they remain anonymous. So far, only they, Joi, Madoka, and Seinaru are made aware of their existence.
  • Guardian of the Multiverse: Though it's more of policing the boundaries and keeping villains from becoming Multiversal Conquerors (or at least not to the greater degrees than they are currently if they already are). They’re mentioned to have an extensive roster of villains they consider to be credible threats, including YHVH, Shao Kahn, Mr. Mxyzptlk, and Zamasu.
  • Right Hand Versus Left Hand: As it later turns out, it was one of their number that gave Madoka the Multiversal Transporter to give to Seinaru in the first place. Something that conventional Operatives like Idano are against. One of these operatives also has a rainbow mask to act as a foil to Idano's (still somewhat colored) bagua mask.

    Idano

A Field Operative working for the Story Crew who has been tasked with watching over Seinaru's adventure.

  • Black Cloak: Sports one and a mask to conceal his identity. It’s inspired by the cloaks of Organization XIII.
  • Cool Mask: Wears a mask styled off a bagua, though has six colored spots.
  • Dramatic Sit-Down: Upon realizing just how illiterate Seinaru is regarding fiction.
  • Dream Walker: How he first appears to Seinaru and Madoka. It's not even unique to him.
  • Expy: He’s one towards the Master of Masters, though he is much less of an evil person.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: A variant. He has a gadget called the MemLock that pulls off this effect, but instead of removing the relevant memories, it just seals them away and its targets are just compelled to act as if they never had said memories in front of anyone who isn't already in the know. He considers the standard application of the trope not only inhumane, but also surprisingly ineffective given enough willpower or the right triggers.
  • Magic Knight: When he winds up fighting Seinaru over alterations his actions will wind up doing to the Land of Magic, he uses a shield similar to Tate’s, as well as a Brick Magisword and Red Mage Magic.
  • Punny Name: His name is pronounced similarly to "I don't know".
  • Wait, What?: Had this intense reaction upon discovering just how inept Seinaru was with the very concept of fiction besides one book of Little Red Riding Hood when he was three.

    Tourmaline
The Field Operative for the Steven Universe setting.

  • The Talk: Is forced to give this once she realizes that Seinaru never had this at any point in his life.

    Tryphon
The Field Operative for the Equestria Girls setting.
