• Fish out of Water: All of them know very little about human culture.
• Floral Theme Naming: All of them are named after some type of plant.
  • Basil is named after a herb.
  • Ginger is named after a spice.
  • Lily is named after a type of flower.
  • Root is named after a part of a plant.

Basil

One of the two original Sprites. An earth Sprite with glasses and the groups resident Smart Guy. Knows a lot about sprite history and gardening. Is usually seen with fellow earth sprite, Root.

• Big Ol' Eyebrows: Noticeable because none of the other main Sprites even have eyebrows.
• Geek Physiques: He’s noticeably heftier then Lily and Ginger.
• Green Means Natural: He’s completely green and is an earth sprite.
• Smart People Wear Glasses: He’s the smartest of the Sprites and the only one to wear glasses.
• Yellow Earth, Green Earth: Naturally.

Ginger

Performed by: Leslie Carrara-Rudolph

One of the two original Sprites. Ginger is a tomboyish air Sprite who loves sports and brags about her achievements every now and then. Is easily annoyed by Basil.

Lily

A water Sprite and one of three Sprites introduced in the series. Lily is a painter who is very in touch with the world around her. She’s also the only Sprite able to speak Spanish.

• Expy: Purple skin, blue hair, Granola Girl, is very artistic and part of a Tomboy and Girly Girl duo? Yep, say hello to Sprite Mokey.
• Granola Girl: She’s the most in tune with nature often talks about vibes.
• Making a Splash: Naturally.
• Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Girly Girl to Ginger’s Tomboy.
• Water Is Blue: She’s a water Sprite that’s blue and purple.
• Water Is Womanly: Is a water Sprite and is the most girly of the main cast.

Root

Performed by: Heather Asch

A earth Sprite and one of the three Sprites introduced in the series. Root is the smallest and youngest sprite who can’t even fly yet. Despite his age he can already make plants grow just by talking to them. He’s also very shy, and is usually seen with his fellow earth sprite, Basil.

• Accidental Misnaming: He exclusively calls Johnny, “Nonny”. Although this is most likely due to his age.
• Affectionate Nickname: He’s almost always called “little Root” instead of just Root.
• Green Thumb: Being an earth sprite, he can help plants grow just by talking to them.
• Magical Barefooter: He’s never shown wearing shoes.
• Yellow Earth, Green Earth: He’s a earth sprite and is bright yellow.

Sage

Performed by: John Tartaglia

“The oldest and wisest Sprite in all of Grotto’s Grove” was introduced in the series. Sage is a Sprite that the others go to for help Once an Episode. Although, sometimes his advice can prove to be less then useful.
