The Sakan Family is one of the four major families in Finsel. The family was descended from the original archer that followed the Saint in the founding of Finsel, thus belonging to the Archer Bloodline. The family is also known in Finsel for a decent number of loafers and poets in the family.

The absent patriarch of the Sakan family. He is has been travelling the world ever since his wife's death, and left his eldest child Juven to take care of his duties. He is trying to build a "new Finsel", which would be fairer towards civilians and settlers.
- Mysterious Benefactor: Though Magda is unaware of it for some time, the Duke is the "patron" who encouraged Eliza to adopt her and is helping guide their efforts in restoring the Ellenstein family's status in Finsel, in return for Magda carrying out his instructions. She puts the pieces together eventually, and the Duke drops any remaining pretense of anonymity in Chapter 7.

The son of the duke, left in charge of the family affairs when he was 19 because of his father's absence. Though he is very adept at maintaining the large family's position in the Senate, he's known to be a big flirt among the social circles in Finsel. After the Saint abdicates, he's crowned as Finsel's first Regent.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: After all of his flirtatious behavior and frivolous lifestyle, one would easily forget him to be an adept at politics and socialization who has led the whole household since age 19. Yes, it is this guy and not someone else that becomes Finsel's first Regent.
- The Charmer: Loves paying calls on all the ladies in Finsel, though none of them can seem to tie him down. From flower girls on the street, crossbowmen of the Merc Corps, to even the holy girls kept inside the church...somehow, he knows about all of them and writes them down in his book "Finsel's Beauty".

Only daughter and the youngest member of the Sakan family, has a bit of a wild streak. She is turning 17, and her marriage has become a big concern in the family because she has no interest in joining the social circles, only wishing to stay free to attack Sulla. Oh, and she also chased away six of her suitors with her archery skills.

- Blind Weaponmaster: She's near-sighted but doesn't want to wear glasses, so she learned to hit her target in darkness, fog, rain and even with her eyes closed.

Younger brother of Duke Sakan, uncle to Juven and Barbara. He studied law in the Lionheart Kingdom and currently serves as Finsel's Minister of Justice. He is known as one of the rare gentlemen in the upper class of Finsel, and hopes to make Finsel a place ruled by laws.
- Badass Bureaucrat: Yes, he knows how to use a pistol and in critical situations, he can kick your ass.
- Black Sheep: In contrast to his more colourful relatives, Barris is staid, serious, and straightforward, and can at times be heard complaining about how much work it is to clean up after their misadventures. He's also something of a black sheep to Finsel's nobility in general, as a reformer who places the law above the privileges of the nobility.
