Contestants

Contestants in Friend Or Foe are divided into six teams:

    Blue Butterflies 
Representing integrity, the Blue Butterflies include two veterans of previous murdergames.

Saki Watanabe

The would-be victim of week 5. Made it to the survivor pool.
"The power of imagination is what changes everything."
  • Action Survivor: Somehow made it to the end despite being fairly average outside of her cantus.
  • The Ageless: Hasn't figured it out yet, but intends to stop her aging to eventually become an O5.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Convinced she's not all that special.
  • Heroic Willpower: A big part of how she managed to last until the end as a survivor.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name indicates she is the youngest child.
  • Prone to Tears: Cried on multiple occasions throughout the round.

Himeko Inaba (Round 2)

Made it to the survivor pool.
"No, I'm not. But I am someone who can try and protect you. I will do whatever it takes to make sure that you stay alive."

Minazuki Karen (Round 3)

Made it to the survivor pool.
"Me by myself is not enough. One can't mature by oneself."

Mitsuru Tenma

Died in a game, Wednesday week 3.
"C’mon, c’mon! Come catch me if you can~! Hahaha! ☆"

    Cyan Cnidarians 
Representing patience, the Cyan Cnidarians also have a veteran of a previous murdergame.

Oda Sakunosuke

The would-be victim of week 4. Made it to the survivor pool.
"Don't call me Odasaku."

Akira Kurusu

Died in a game, Wednesday week 5.
"I feel as though I understand him better now..."

Ellie Troit (Round 2)

Made it to the survivor pool.
"Obviously this place isn't ideal, but isn't being brought here like a second chance at life?"

Alcor

Died in a game, Saturday week 4.
"The truth is that neither of us can know the movement of the stars. Sleep, master of memories."

    Green Geckos 
Representing kindness.

Aqua

The victim for week 3.
"Whatever it is that binds us together isn't going to break so easily...and that's our real treasure."

Azura

Made it to the survivor pool.
"I must never rest."

  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Becoming depressed after living in the Foundation universe for so long, experiencing her own Darkest Hour in the middle of the game, and clawing her way back up with the other members of the survivor pool and emerging with her Family of Choice.
  • Family of Choice: She comes to accept Moriarty as her father, as her birth father was killed when she was young and she struggles to remember him.
  • Fourth-Date Marriage: Ingway spontaneously proposes to her during the final hours of the game, the two of them having known each other for about a month. Repeatedly Lampshaded and joked as acceptable due them being from medieval-era canons.
  • The High Queen: She vows once she's able to return home, to take Valla's throne back and become her kingdom's proper queen.
  • One-Song Bard: Averted, unlike canon, as spending many months in the modern world of the SCP Foundation has widened her musical repertoire.

Sandalphon

The culprit for week 3.
"I'm only here to fulfill Lucifer's last request. If that should happen to mean defending the skies, then so be it."

Otani Atsushi

Died in a game, Wednesday week 4.

    Orange Orangutans 
Representing bravery.

Silver the Hedgehog

Made it to the survivor pool.
"To kill someone to save the world... Is that really the right thing to do?"

Vanitas

The would-be victim of week 1. Made it to the survivor pool.
"I'm the shadow you cast."

Nora

Made it to the survivor pool.
"You're a real creep, but you're also the only one who really wants me to become the strongest demon. So I don't give a rat's ass whether you think it's a game or you're just killing time — that works just fine! I don't need freedom or whatever!! Because I plan to use you to become the strongest there ever was...!!"

Azula

The would-be culprit of week 1. Died during a game, Wednesday week 2.
"Almost isn't good enough."

    Purple Parrots 
Representing perseverance.

Leonardo Watch

The would-be victim of week 2. Died in a game, Wednesday week 5.
"As long as you face the light and take even one step, your spirit can't be broken!"

Atsushi Nakajima

Died in a game, Saturday week 4.
"The head may err, but never the blood."

George Ace

Died in a game, Saturday week 2.
"You want to reel me in? I'd like to see you try."

Giriko

The would-be culprit of week 3. Made it to the survivor pool.
"The truth is, the people's heart are pitch black. That's the truth."

    Yellow Yaks 
Representing justice, the Yellow Yaks have the fourth and final returning character among the contestants.

James Moriarty (Round 3)

The would-be culprit of week 4. Made it to the survivor pool.
"If I promise to serve faithfully, I'd look rather suspicious. If I promised to serve unfaithfully, that would confirm everyone's suspicions about me. The role of a villain is quite tough...!"

Goro Akechi

Died in a game, Wednesday week 3.
"I've succeeded until now, all by myself...! I don't need... teammates."

Ingway

The would-be culprit for week 2. Made it to the survivor pool.
"Like all who live, I have certain desires..."

Toshio Ozaki

Died in a game, Saturday week 2.
"This is my only justice."

Other

    Other Characters 

"Osamu Dazai"/"John Doe"/John Kazehama (Round 3)

The show's host, a fellow 6350 and a dangerous Killer GM with the power to nullify the powers of others. Or so he seems, but from the very beginning several contestants think something is off, and he's soon identified as "John Doe," a mysterious young man Karen met while she was dead who is actually trying to minimize casualties. He's actually native to the Foundation universe, and an alternate universe counterpart to John Egbert.

Marona (Round 1)

The culprit for week 6 (the final trial).

Osamu Dazai

The victim for week 6 (the final trial).

The intended host, whom "John Doe" is impersonating. Despite the best efforts of John's offscreen compatriots, he manages to turn up on the premises near the end of the round.

Hestia

Known simply as "the House" until Ingway provided a name, Hestia is a living building of a similar species to the Hotel. Hestia produces Big Brother-style reality shows within, and feeds on the resulting emotions.
