     The 15 Strangers

Eric

The Glister

Alive...for now
  • Butt-Monkey: Eric pretty much ends up being this on account of being the only normal guy and also because his personality opens him up to being teased by everyone else.
  • Everything's Better with Sparkles: Eric's power makes him sparkle and it comes out at amusing moments.
  • Light Is Not Good: Despite his power being the ability to emanate the purest light, he was the Fabricator, working for the mastermind to alter the evidence in the hopes that everyone would vote incorrectly, resulting in the execution of the other titled besides himself and the killer.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: his motive for being the traitor, as well as going on a killing spree on the mooks when he thought Mira was dead. "People do crazy things for love... you know?" is something he directly said to the Intercessor when they didn't understand Farkas dying for them.

Gaignun Kukai Jr.

The Decayed

Alive...for now
  • Artificial Human: Is pretty clear about the fact that he was created as a weapon.
  • Blood Knight: Seemed a little TOO eager to give Eric a pounding...
  • Cute Bruiser: The smallest member of the cast, but one of the ones most capable in a fight.
  • Genius Bruiser: Tells everyone he's just a weapon, but shows moments of astounding cleverness and insight.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Subverted, his jacket is actually high quality faux-leather.
  • I Did What I Had to Do: Isn't proud of cornering Yusuke at the first trial, but knows the alternative would have been worse.
  • You Are Number 6: Introduces himself as URTV Unit #666, until enough people calling him Rubedo emboldens him to use that name instead.

Laslow

The Spinner

The victim of week 2.

McBurn

The Question

Punished during week 3's execution
  • Blood Knight: He sure was quick to pull a knife out after Rubedo threatened him and he sure enjoyed their spar. He also was the first PC to go fight the dragon.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: He's insanely lazy, to the point that he often won't bother reading notes left for him and tends to yawn during conversations with him.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: He wears glasses and tends to be a jerk or just brutally practical.
  • Innocent Innuendo: A few comments he made during the first trial certainly could have been taken quite wrongly, yet he seemed to have no idea of that.
  • Not Afraid to Die: Some comments he made during the first trial reveal this, but the really telling fact was how prepared he was to fight a dragon during week 3's execution.
  • Only One Name: The only name he goes by is McBurn and that is obviously not even his real name.

Papyrus

The Taskmaster

Alive...for now
  • Caps Lock: His default font results in him basically screaming as he talks to other characters.
  • The Dreaded: The human Titled - i.e. almost every other character - works as this for him to an extent. While Papyrus obviously doesn't want to think that way about the human Titled, he does confide to Rubedo - who he considers "human-shaped" - about how human and Monster SOULs work back in his world - and that he's scared someone really will take up trying to fulfill Order 7 by killing him, an easy target, if they gained enough desire to do so. Then the first motive is revealed...
  • Insult Backfire: Nothing Eric tries seems to work much.
  • Oh, Crap!: Papyrus has this moment when the first motive is revealed.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: He makes it clear in the first Trial when the Intercessor reveals the punishment Order 8 requires.

Yusuke Kitagawa

The Indulgent

The "culprit" of week 2.
  • Declaration of Protection: Consistently with Futaba, even before he remembers her. Once she convinces him that she's part of the Phantom Thieves in week 1, he is dedicated to ensuring she is safe out of a sense of loyalty.
  • The Heart: Together with his canonmate Futaba. Despite his eccentric nature and trouble connecting emotionally to others early in his canon, the nature of the death game has Yusuke focused on keeping everyone together, knowing that if they start to distrust one another then their chances of escape diminish significantly. This makes voting for him and his subsequent execution in the first trial all the more devastating for several of the other Strangers.
  • Ice-Cream Koan: Something of a combination between this, Mistaken for Profound, and Comically Missing the Point. He and Fie get into a discussion about how Papyrus can shout without lungs or vocal cords, whether Eric wants to kiss Papyrus, and how you can kiss someone with no lips. This happens on their very first day in the Depths.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: His "murder" of Laslow was a tragic accident due to his game-given power to berserk anyone with a skin-to-skin touch. While trying to comfort Laslow, he drove the other man into a frenzy and wound up killing him when Laslow ran into the knife Yusuke was using to defend himself.
  • Saving the World With Art: Toward the end of the second week, Yusuke gets his paint set back. On Thursday afternoon, he paints a mural with real world flowers recolored to represent the 15 Strangers on the end wall in the barracks, as a show of their camaraderie and togetherness. It becomes something of a To Absent Friends memorial after his execution.
  • Sorry That I'm Dying: His parting words to the other Strangers, especially Futaba, are heartbreaking.
  • Sympathetic Murderer: Partially averted. He was directly responsible for Laslow's death in several unintentional ways, but in the end it truly was a self-defense kill and thus not an actual murder. The game's rules, however, classify any responsibility for a death to be murder and thus punishable. If Laslow had killed Yusuke, he would have been guilty according to the game's rules instead.

    Non Playable Characters

The Intercessor/Alexis

The Intercessor

The caretaker of the Depths, assigned to oversee the proceedings within and to watch over the Titled. They seem to be just as much prisoner as the Titled are, however...

The Dragon/The Krosis Project

The Sorrow

The true executor of the Titled inside the Depths. Nearly all of the Intercessor's loved ones were experimented on to create this monstrosity.
  • Body Horror: And how. The first description we get of it describes it as having unfocused eyes and shifting teeth, abruptly lurching around with multiple arms and hands pushing out from beneath its skin.
  • Death Seeker: At least, the parts of it that are still somewhat sane and sentient realize that's the only way out.
  • Fate Worse than Death: We wouldn't learn of it's ultimate fate until Round 5, meaning it survived the end of the original TES reality and persisted in its suffering somewhere in the remade Nirn]]. While it wasn't fully realized, it's heavily implied in the Deep Cut focusing on it that it was finally put out of it's misery by the actions of that round's Strangers.

Babette

The Destroyer

An unknown individual whose existence was uncovered in Week 3. Also, the culprit of Week 3.
  • The Undead: With blood that can apparently infect others with vampirism.

The Simulcast

The same Titles as the Round 1 15 Strangers

The responsible parties for some of the mysterious happenings within the Depths. The truth about these individuals is ultimately tied into what is happening to the characters in the Depths. Their identities have ultimately been uncovered: Adam Park, Alisha Diphda, Aoi "Santa" Kuroshiki, Camilla of Nohr, Cardia Beckford, Carole King, Lulu, Nephrite, Sora Naegino, Takashi Shirogane, The Evil Princess, Tsuna Sawada, and Warrick Chopper.
Of these, only three are fully confirmed to have survived after they finally joined the Strangers.
  • Alternate Universe: One that likely didn't fare so well as the main cast's, to boot.
  • Asshole Victim: No one mourns the Week 1 culprit, even after she was executed, because of what happened.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Popping in to help slay a dragon? Hell yeah.
  • Broken Pedestal: More like a disappointed, cracked pedestal, learned of via conversations with him by the main cast, but given how Linkara utterly idolizes the Power Rangers, it's clear things didn't end well.
  • When Dimensions Collide: It turns out these guys and the Strangers rounds are going through the same thing simultaneously albeit in different timelines with different outcomes. It's a natural side effect of the massive Dragon Break.

Elenwen

The Mastermind

The one responsible for the Strangers being in the Depths to begin with. She has it out for them, to be sure, but why?
  • Bad Boss: She doesn't bat an eye when it comes to sacrificing her own men to summon the Strangers into the Depths and force them to do as she wants.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Get her kicked out of a peace summit to calm internal tensions she was trying to stoke, will you? Well, she will take your friends and family, do horrible experiments on them, torture you to the point of amnesia, throw you into a death game in the hopes someone will kill you, and oh by the way she's going to destroy all of reality while you helplessly watch, unable to do anything! Then we'll see who gets the last laugh!
  • Fantastic Racism: In canon, it's a given. Here, it's added onto.
    • She believes the Strangers are members of a legendary, long-lost race of elven brethren others have spent centuries trying to understand at all, much less reach ad learn their ultimate fate...and, after seemingly, miraculously summoning them, she proceeds to treat them like dirt. Among other things, she doesn't even bother to check whether the Strangers are even the race she was trying to summon to begin with.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Maybe you shouldn't have provoked and cruelly treated the people you gave Daedra powers to...especially not Eric...
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Attempts to sow discord by revealing the identity of the Fabricator to the survivor pool during the final trial. Fails miserably.
  • RevengeSVP: A great deal of the bad blood between her and the Intercessor comes from this.
  • When It All Began: [[All of subsequent 15 Strangers canon and lore]] owes its thanks to Elenwen's actions, for better or worse.
