12: Future Trunks' Timeline
U12 is the only universe so far that is actually intertwined with the canon series; it is the universe where Future Trunks traveled from. The fighters in this universe includes Future Trunks note and a repaired Android 16 note , who enter so they can use the Dragon Balls to resurrect people killed by 17 and 18, such as their universe's Gohan. open/close all folders

- Adaptational Badass: Played with. DBM's Future Trunks 'has' gotten stronger than he was shown to be in the original Z, fine tuning his control of the Ultra Super Saiyan form to the point Vegeta thinks he could give Perfect Cell serious trouble now. That said, but he hasn't yet obtained the kind of power his Dragon Ball Super incarnation displayed when he showed up again, who had unlocked Super Saiyan 2 and levelled the form up to the point it was comparable to a Super Saiyan 3 Goku.
- A Day in the Limelight: Chapter 91 focuses on him
showing his recruitment by the Vargas and exploring his daily life. Chapter 92 covers his interaction upon arrival with the other universes. - Alternate Universe Reed Richards Is Awesome: Future Trunks is pretty obviously a more accomplished and just better person than his main timeline counterpart.
- Bash Brothers: With 16.
- Berserk Button: 17 and 18. Their arrival in the multiverse tournament sends Trunks into a blind rage with him powering up in a fury and having to be stopped from trying to kill them on sight by 16. The fact the twins start taunting him about their shared history and casually reveal they killed Bulma in their universe does not help his mood.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Is the Big Good of his universe and a compassionate hero, is also someone you very much do not want to cross. Upon reactivating Android 16 he warns the Android that while he is happy to work with him to help repair the world, if he sees any indication of Android 16 behaving like the deceased 17 and 18 he will obliterate the android on the spot.
- It’s specifically noted that the U14 Cyborgs are *very lucky* that fighting outside of matches is prohibited because Trunks would have gladly killed them on sight otherwise.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: His fight against Cooler ends much like his fight against the rest of Cooler's family.
- Curb Stomp Cushion: Ultimately loses to SS2 Vegeta, but his refined use of the USS form and fighting spirit let him put up a respectable fight against his more rounded father.
- Foil: To the U16 and U18 versions of himself, as showcased on https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-96.html , U16-U18 Trunks have relatively carefree lives and haven't seriously trained since the Majin Buu saga. By contrast, Future Trunks is the Big Good of his universe's Earth, leading reconstruction efforts and has been hardened by his growing up in a Crapsack World into a dedicated fighter who has been steadily improving his combat skill even in peace time.
- Future Badass: As in canon. Although they are the same age now, Future Trunks is markedly stronger than main universe Trunks.
- Heart Is an Awesome Power: In the original series, the "buff Super Saiyan" technique he used against Cell was described as a total dead end, since it degraded the speed and stamina of the user to obtain its high strength and durability, rather than providing an all-around boost like other methods. However, Trunks managed to alleviate the form's problems by focusing on entering and leaving it as quickly and smoothly as possible—essentially letting him use the form's sheer power while attacking or taking a hit, while still being able to fall back on his standard Super Saiyan speed when he needs to close the gap or maneuver. The result allows him to hold his ground against his father in Super Saiyan 2, and Vegeta claims that Perfect Cell would have had a miserable time facing off against Trunks had he mastered the form then.
- Lightning Bruiser: Trunks can still go Ultra Super Saiyan, but has learned to shift in and out of it to avoid the speed issue.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During his special about arriving in the Tournament Trunks is polite, well mannered and calmly analytical about how each universe differs from the rest with the brief exception of his alarm at Bojack participating and being thrown by U13 Vegeta. Then he sees U14 17-18. Cue Trunks entering a state of snarling rage being barely restrained from killing them on the spot and spitting that the cyborgs should get out his sight right now.
- Worthy Opponent: To U18!Vegeta, who pointedly refuses to hold back against him and even tells Trunks that he fought well after winning their match.
Android 16

- Bash Brothers: With Trunks.
- Goal in Life: Despite Goku being dead in his universe, he still wants to kill him. It's why he enters the tournament, in the hopes of being able to kill one of the Gokus there.
- Irony: In the main timeline 16 had a good relationship with 17-18, this version of 16 only has the legacy of the Future twins rampage across Earth to remember them by and when he encounters the U14 versions of 17-18 he is shown to be want nothing to do with them.
- Nature-Loving Robot: Tells Trunks as much when he is first reactivated. The only exception to this is Goku.
- Secret Test of Character: Subjects Eleim to one, wanting to see if he sees Android 16 as just a machine or a man. Once Eleim calls him a man, he is content and immediately forfeits.
- Tranquil Fury: Only briefly raises his voice towards 17-18 when they start goading Trunks about killing their universes Bulma but that shout combined with 16’s look of pure disgust towards the twins along with his getting in their faces makes it clear the stoic Android is geniuely angry about the cyborgs antics.
- We Can Rebuild Him: Bulma repaired him after Trunks found him in Gero's ruined lab in poor condition.
