Shareena Wickett
- Voiced by: Tara Strong
The main protagonist of the series. She is a tomboyish Goth-dressed girl who prefers to be a free spirit and finds pleasure in the sublime.
- Hartman Hips: She's definitely an early bloomer in that department.
- Hates Wearing Dresses: As shown in "Shareena Takes The Cake".
- Little Miss Snarker: She is only twelve years old and easily the snarkiest out of the group.
- Only Sane Woman: She often feels needed in this role at times, especially when dealing with Emmitt, Jim, Gug, and/or Shelley.
- Perky Goth: Shareena is snarky, wears gothic clothing, and likes to perform séances, but overall she can be easygoing if not bothered.
- Surrounded by Idiots: More like surrounded by dorks."It's tough being special in a world full of dorks."
Emmitt Roswell
- Voiced by: Billy West
A blond-haired boy who is a conspiracy theorist. He tends to believe that aliens exist in outer space and often tries to make contact with them, much to the dismay of others.
- Conspiracy Theorist: He comes up with absurd conspiracy theories and spends all day investigating them.
- Meaningful Name: His last name is "Roswell
".
Jim Kim
- Voiced by: Roger Eschbacher
A shy kid who has an obsession with comic book superheroes, particularly the DC superheroes.
- Acting Out a Daydream: Sometimes he is so deeply invested in his superhero fantasies that he acts them out, which results in him getting detention.
- Loony Fan: He quotes comic books in casual conversation, and he bases his plans on comic book stories.
Ramone "Gug" Gugleamo
- Voiced by: Carlos Alazraqui
A pint-sized, short-tempered Hispanic boy who constantly tries to pick fights with bigger kids.
- Hot-Blooded: He tends to pick fights with other students.
- Let Me at Him!: The other kids have to hold him back from fighting his latest enemy. Kisskillya is his most frequent target.
- The Napoleon: He's the shortest kid in detention and also very aggressive.
- Overly Long Name: His full name is Ramone Fernando Francisco Jose de San Martin Gugleamo III.
Duncan Bubble
- Voiced by: Bob Doucette (yo-yo)
A mute boy who communicates using his yo-yo.
- Companion Cube: His yo-yo, which he uses to spell out messages and get himself and his friends out of trouble.
- Meaningful Name: Named after the Duncan yo-yo company.
- Non-Standard Character Design: His narrow head and large nose makes him stand out amongst the other characters. In fact, he looks like he could be Ferb's distant cousin.
- The Speechless: He never speaks a word and as mentioned above, he uses his yo-yo to spell out messages.
Lemonjella and Orangejella LaBelle
- Voiced by: Tia Mowry (Lemonjella), Tamera Mowry (Orangejella)
Genius African-American twins with competitive streaks against each other. Their names are pronounced "lem-ON-juh-la" and "or-AN-juh-la", respectively.
- Black and Nerdy: They're the smartest kids in the group by far. It's also subverted because they're more fashionable and less socially awkward than Shelley, the resident nerd.
- Edible Theme Naming: Their names are one letter away from "Lemon Jell-O" and "Orange Jell-O".note Accordingly, Lemonjella wears a yellow shirt, while Orangejella wears orange pants.
- Facial Profiling: They have large lips, and in some shots, their lips are big enough to cover their chins.
- Playful Hacker: They once got detention by hacking into the school's computer system to erase library fines.
- Token Black Friend: The only Black kids in detention.
Shelley Kelly
- Voiced by: Pamelyn Ferdin
Kisskillya's assistant, a cheerful, enthusiastic teacher's pet who kisses up to Kisskillya.
- All Love Is Unrequited: She has a crush on Emmitt, who (like the rest of the group) thinks she is annoying.
- Foil: To Shareena. Shelley is very excitable, fond of following and enforcing rules, and likes the rigid structure of school, while Shareena is mellow and free-spirited.
- I Just Want to Have Friends: She likes being with the group and wants to be friends with them. In fact, she thinks Shareena is her best friend. Unfortunately, the other kids find her obnoxious due to her brown-nosing personality, and she often ends up on the receiving end of Shareena's snarky remarks.
- Scout-Out: She wears her Ladybug Scout uniform to school every day.
- Teacher's Pet: She is Kisskillya's assistant and favorite student.
Miss Eugenia P. Kisskillya
- Voiced by: Kathleen Freeman
The detention monitor and gym teacher at Benedict Arnold Middle School, who runs detention with an iron fist.
- Character Catchphrase: She yells "Deten-TION!" like a drill sergeant.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: She treats the group like they're in boot camp, calling them "soldiers" and "privates". Unsurprisingly, she is a former Marine.
- Unexpected Kindness: In "Capitol Punishment", she is shown to be a fun and friendly tour guide as she takes Shareena on a tour of Washington, D.C., much to Shareena's surprise.
