The main antagonist of Code Caligula. The fifth Emperor of Yomi who's radical views lead him to desire an uprising against the Shinigami.

     Orochi

The fourth Emperor of Yomi. He's respected for making improvements to the country and being a wise ruler, however there are some who take issue with his stance regarding demon empowerment.

  • Boom, Headshot!: Sierro shoots him through the head with a magical beam of light.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: The "Forbidden Jigadō One-Hundred One: Eight-Branched Pale Summit" spell allows Orochi to summon a massive multi-headed snake from his body at the cost of becoming paralyzed.
  • The Good King: Orochi was apparently a great and kind leader that was good to his people, and is greatly missed despite his pacifistic tendencies.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: In the same chapter of his introduction in Chapter 3, he's assassinated by Sierro.

     Zorastarot

The third Emperor of Yomi. He was an immensely powerful demon who loved to engage his followers in battle in his spare time. After his passing, the annual Zorastarot Tournament was created in his honor.

  • Death by Irony: Zorastarot loved to spar with his subjects and challenge them to duels. Ultimately it was a simple cold that proved to be his undoing.
  • Sudden Name Change: Was originally named Zoroaster, after the Iranian prophet. It was changed shortly after and revised in all releases to avoid offending anyone belonging to the Zoroastrian religion.
  • Warrior King: One who loved combat more than anything else.

     Azazel the Great

The second Emperor of Yomi. He was extraordinarily strong and the founder of the Deepcut, Jikininki and the Council of Princes.

  • Our Founder: The emperor who established the Deepcut and later on, the Jikininki Ten. He also created the Council of Princes to serve as proper leaders who could replace him after his death someday.
  • Reluctant Ruler: He never wanted to be emperor and was content being the leader of the Deepcut. However, destiny felt differently.
  • The Wise Prince: Regarded as the wisest of the emperors to date.

     Baal

The first Emperor of Yomi. Not much is known about him other than his many heroic exploits, including being the founder of the Empire of Yomi.

  • Authority Equals Asskicking: During the Great Soul War, he was a living badass - securing victories left and right before Izanami's surrender. After that, he became the leader demonkind needed and established an empire by himself.
  • The Conqueror: Baal was an accomplished general during his tenure, being behind most of the Demon army's many victories.
  • Founder of the Kingdom: He took up the mantle of leader after Izanami's defeat and later established the Empire of Yomi.
  • Passed in Their Sleep: Baal is described as dying peacefully in his sleep.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Baal didn't just sit on his throne, he got up and single-handedly fought in several battles until his death.
  • Shrouded in Myth: Little-to-nothing is known of his origins other than he was a powerful general that eventually helped lead the demons into Yomi, establishing his empire.

     Kirin

Formerly the personal bodyguard to the Emperor of Yomi and later becoming leader of the feared Onryō Squadron. She is currently ranked Tenth within the Jikininki Ten.

  • A Good Way to Die: Kirin is genuinely happy she got to go out defending her empire and country. Averted in end, as she survives her wounds.
  • Ascended Extra: Introduced originally as a simple bodyguard and seemingly dies in her debut chapter. She survives and becomes the leader of Onryo Squadron and later Mura's successor as Jikininki.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She's dressed in armor, wields a spear and is exceptionally fit.
  • BFS: Kirin's sword-lance hybrid of a weapon that can fuse to her arm and fire blasts of funneled Tamashiryoku.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Kirin's sword is able to fuse onto her arm, allowing her to swing and stab it more easily.
  • Blessed with Suck: The stone-like birthmark in her chest. Unfortunately for Kirin, it prevents her from harnessing and casting magic.
  • Determinator: Kirin's resilience is legendary even among stronger characters in the series. She never gives up once she sets her mind to something, even if she fails repeatedly.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Despite lacking the ability to cast magic, Kirin makes up for this with her tactical experience, badass weapon and team of kick-ass soldiers.
  • Gut Feeling: Has a bad feeling regarding the lack of guards present during a meeting with an incredibly hostile empire. Turns out she was right.
  • Hades Shaded: She has light grey skin, an unusual trait for most demons in the series.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Kirin can easily become enraged over the slightest things, usually if she doesn't get results fast enough.
  • Made of Iron: One of three survivors from Sierro's onslaught. To be clear, she survived being impaled by multiple beams of molten-hot light.
  • No One Should Survive That!: Takes a lot of damage over the series, being impaled several times for instance.
  • Oddly Shaped Sword: Resembling more of a lance than a sword, the blade is shaped like a spiral with an obnoxiously-huge cross-guard.
  • Your Head A-Splode: How she kills a Shinigami mage, throwing her spear directly through his skull and reducing it to a bloody stump.
     Hurr Nidar

The Chief Justice of the Empire of Yomi. He also serves as a stalwart friend of Naraka, with their rivalry going back ages.
