Main Game

  • The main theme easily sets the tone of the story: a group of heroes on a journey to rid themselves of a Fate Worse than Death while caught in a conflict between the Mind Flayers and devils.
  • Down By the River is an eerie but mystical piece that plays during character creation. Just leaves such an impact that loads of people started making covers of it, not to mention 1-hour loop tracks on YouTube!
  • Weeping Dawn is another leitmotif played during character creation. Doing a certain quest near the Druid Grove adds lyrics, turning it into a mournful hymn in which the singer promises to live well for their departed loved one.
  • I Want to Live sounds often throughout Early Access, but the addition of a duo of voices makes it potentially fitting for a romance with Astarion. In the full game, an instrumental version will play in the final scene with Karlach as her engine finally burns out.
  • Nightsong is a moving, somber, yet ethereal track that plays upon freeing the Nightsong, more accurately known as Dame Aylin, daughter of Selune. Between the ethereal and harmonious chorus vocalizing with minimal accompaniment and the simple yet well timed rhythm of the piece, it's a confident and powerful way to say "darkness has plagued the land for too long, but no longer." It's a methodical yet powerful way to truly introduce a character such as Dame Aylin.
Commenter: This is what it sounds like when the music is telling you that you made the right decision.
  • Raphael's Final Act is Raphael's Villain Song. The song demonstrates Raphael's arrogance and pride as the party's devilish adversary who have been taunting you for the whole game.
  • The Legacy of Bhaal plays when you confront Saverok and Orin. Its theme has call-backs to the original games and it is a stark reminder that this is a Baldur's Gate game, and that Bhaal's dark legacy is very alive to plague the world.
  • Song of Balduran plays when you rent the room in Elfsong Tavern. It is a quiet song about the founder of the city, Balduran, and foreshadows what's to come. But mostly, it is a calm track that players can enjoy while resting in one of the city's popular establishment.
  • Enemy Down, which plays when you take down a powerful enemy, features a triumphant reprise of the motif from "Down By The River".
  • What do Malus Thorm and Cazador Szarr have in common? Their boss theme, a delightfully sinister Boss Remix of the House of Healing theme, "Surgery of a Hope".
