"Only one person is capable of Dragon Raises Its Head."
  • Any time Ye Xiu takes control of a combat situation (be it completing dungeons in the fastest possible time, overwhelming "Wild Bosses" with barely any difficulty, odds being stacked against him in Player Vs Player), expect the entire scene to be dominated by him and his pure fighting skills alone.
  • Having played Glory since its beta and stood in its competitive scene since its inception, there is little that the various clubs, players, and professionals can do that Ye Xiu hasn't seen before. Naturally, he uses his accumulated experience to outwit and manipulate almost everyone around him; that his peers in eSports state in all adaptations he's the one to come up with strategies and tactics that are still widely used in the present speaks volumes of Ye Xiu's status as a Living Legend.

Web Novel and Donghua

  • With his newly-created avatar "Lord Grim", Ye Xiu smugly allows "Sleeping Moon" to die from the "Midnight Phantom Cat" Hidden Boss in the "Green Forest" dungeon after ousting his plan to hoard all the loot comes to light. Afterwards, Ye Xiu effortlessly kills the boss while setting the first of many records on the tenth server.
  • Despite Sleeping Moon smearing Lord Grim's reputation on the tenth server for stealing the first kill against the Midnight Phantom Cat, Ye Xiu requests partying up with Sleeping Moon again, since the latter didn't complete the Green Forest dungeon the first time. Again, Ye Xiu defeats the Hidden Boss by himself as Sleeping Moon and the party simply watches on the sidelines. By the time they head into the "Spider Cave" dungeon, the party proclaims Lord Grim must be some sort of god when Ye Xiu solos the "Spider Lord" boss at the end of the dungeon.
    • Until this point in the story, Ye Xiu has only shown his combat prowess, but with the appearance of the "Spider Emperor" Hidden Boss, he gives specific commands to Sleeping Moon and the rest of the party by having them use their respective Character Class' skills at different points on the map against the boss, barely giving it any breathing room to retaliate. As one of the four "Master Tacticians" of Glory, Ye Xiu's in-depth knowledge of the game, classes and the skills they bring are now on full display.
  • With Lord Grim's notoriety increasing on the tenth server, "Blue River" of the Blue Brook guild decides to recruit him so they can take the record of clearing the "Frost Forest" dungeon first. Despite initial disagreements because of Ye Xiu's choice in the party (he insists no characters from the Priest-class since they're going for fastest completion time; damage dealers are better suited), Blue Brook winds up pulling it off on the first run, with Ye Xiu provoking all of the dungeon's goblins and herding them into a single location on the map, where the rest of the party destroy in one fell swoop.
  • Upon hearing the "Boneyard" dungeon Wild Boss "Blood Gunner Yagg" has appeared, Ye Xiu logins to reap the rewards from the first kill on the tenth server. However, it's the way he pulls it off that truly emphasizes his shameless, yet manipulative tactics in Glory.
    • As Blue Brook lies in wait with rival guilds Herb Garden and Tyrannical Ambition so they can strike down Yagg and claim the boss' loot at the best opportunity, in comes Bao Rongxing with "Steamed Bun Invasion", who puts on an impressionable display of combat skills against Yagg, such that the guild leaders are surprised this newbie is lasting as long as he can, at least until Bao foolishly uses the Brawler-class skill "Slap", leading Yagg to target only him. Fortunately, Ye Xiu enters with Lord Grim and begins pummeling on Yagg so quickly, the Wild Boss can't counterattack.
    • As the guilds watch in awe of Lord Grim, Ye Xiu (having partied up with Bao and some random players also fighting Yagg) commands every player to keep up the momentum. Yagg's Hit Points are close to critical, thus the guilds have little choice but to attack the Wild Boss if they want the reward and first kill status. At this point, Ye Xiu orders his party to make a hasty retreat as Lord Grim continues the non-stop assault. Just as the guilds close in on Yagg, the latter begins summoning reinforcements in the form of skeletons and zombies. Not only are the guilds caught up in fighting this horde, Lord Grim has run away with Yagg tailing behind him due to Draw Aggro. The guild leaders quickly realize they've been duped as Lord Grim achieved a 200-hit Combo just as Yagg reached less than 10% of its Hit Points, allowing Yagg to summon flunkies proportional to the number of players within its aggro range - in this case, the pursuing guilds, which numbers well over a hundred players.
    • As Lord Grim is still being pursued by Yagg, in comes Sleeping Moon and the same players Ye Xiu fought alongside in the prior dungeons, who provides him with reinforcements. Upon lowering Yagg's Hit Points to less than 5%, the Wild Boss pulls its Turns Red status again, but Ye Xiu has all players pull away from its aggro range; only one zombie is summoned just as he deals the finishing blow on Yagg. Bao Rongxing easily dispatches the last Mook as the game announces that Lord Grim, Steamed Bun Invasion, Sleeping Moon and company have achieved the first kill status for Yagg on the tenth server.
  • The brief, yet memorable scuffle between Ye Xiu and Captain Wang Jiexi of Tiny Herb: not only is it the first instance of Player Vs Player for Lord Grim, Jiexi (using Plantago Seed's same-named avatar) really puts the avatar to work by forcing Ye Xiu to showcase the vast versatility of the Unspecialized-class. Since Plantago Seed is under-leveled, Wang Jiexi expected himself to lose, yet his curiosity is peaked as he decides to turn this around by sending his professional players to find and kill Lord Grim on the tenth server, both because he's causing so much trouble for Herb Garden and so Tiny Herb can indirectly train with one of the league's best players.
    • Tiny Herb's pros are naturally confident and smug since they believe Lord Grim is nothing, but another random player, until Lord Grim easily blocks their attacks with barely any movement and proceeds to utterly dominate their failed ambush. Throughout Ye Xiu's "training", which would be moved to the arena (Wang Jiexi barters the team's training with Ye Xiu in exchange for materials), the only other player from Tiny Herb (aside from Jiexi) who manages to make an impression on Ye Xiu is Qiao Yifan, who the former commends for his keen observation skills and map awareness in the midst of the fight. Keep in mind that among Tiny Herb, Yifan is seen as the weakest, who's relegated to that of a reserve player and errand boy for the rest of the team, but to Ye Xiu, he's definitely far from that.
    • To cap off the training, Wang Jiexi gets into a re-match with Ye Xiu in the arena; this time, the former uses a more fine-tuned Witch-class alternate character "Fiery Blaze". What occurs is both professional players giving their all with their avatars to the awe of their respective spectators looking at the monitors (Plantago Seed, Tiny Herb and Tang Rou). The peak of the fight comes when Tiny Herb realizes their captain has unleashed his Confusion Fu that earned him the "Magician" title in competitive Glory, something he had "sealed" years ago so his teammates can even keep up with him. Not only does Jiexi's display of combat move Plantago Seed to tears, the duel ends in a draw. That's right: Wang Jiexi is the first player to prove Ye Xiu and the Unspecialized-class isn't Nigh-Invulnerable.
    • Props also goes out to Tang Rou: as a condition for Tiny Herb, its members can only train with Ye Xiu in the arena if they beat her first. Obviously, as professional players, they easily clear that obstacle before tackling Lord Grim, until Wang Jiexi notices the time it takes to beat her begins steadily increasing. He deduces she's getting incrementally better with every session, which impresses him enough that he offers her a tryout on Tiny Herb. For a newcomer who's only played against amateurs before meeting Ye Xiu, now tasked with sparring against professionals as a form of training for her, and ultimately given an opportunity most eSports players can only dream of, this is one hell of an achievement for Tang Rou. Though she turns down the offer, this will go a long way to satsify her desire to take on harder challenges in Glory.
  • At the "Desolate Land" dungeon, Ye Xiu, Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing are scouting to see how they can break the record for fastest completion time. Incidentally, Qiao Yifan is also there, now using a new character - "One Inch Ash" in a "Phantom Demon" build from the Ghost Blade-class - taken at Ye Xiu's prior behest, when training Tiny Herb, of using a different Character Class to suit Yifan's strengths. Suddenly, the four are ambushed by unknown players (actually Chen Yehui and Excellent Dynasty guild players) and it's here where Yifan gets to display what he can do when paired to a class that plays to him. By casting the Ghost Blade's "Sword Boundary" skill that grants Status Buffs to allies, the party is able to keep up the momentum against Excellent Dynasty and stave off an assault; when used in conjunction with Lord Grim, whose Unspecialized-class can also cast Sword Boundary, Yifan is able to "link" One Inch Ash's Sword Boundary after Lord Grim's during the latter's Cooldown and vice versa to a degree where the party keeps their Status Buff for prolonged periods. As Excellent Dynasty has no one on their side who can counteract this strategy, they're all soundly defeated.
  • The way Blue Rain captain Yu Wenzhou deduces Lord Grim's identity by simply looking at how the Boneyard dungeon record goes back and forth between Lord Grim and Excellent Dynasty: he notices how "Hateful Sword" (Liu Hao's alternate Berserker-class) and "Flowing Tree" (Huang Shaotian's alternate Blade Master-class) are temporary additions to Lord Grim's party during their runs. Wenzhou correctly guesses Hateful Sword must be Liu Hao due to his subpar performance during Blue Rain's Season 8 regular match with Excellent Era at their home city after Excellent Dynasty set the record - he normally uses a Spellblade-class character on the team, but Liu Hao played as if he was using a Berserker. Furthermore, Wenzhou notes how Shaotian was missing from the hotel after the match and that he must have played with Lord Grim to help with the record, thus outing him as Flowing Tree. Finally, after analyzing why Liu Hao would go so far as to join Lord Grim's party to help him break a record, Wenzhou reasons it's a combination of fear and faith in order to steal a strategy at completing the dungeon faster, all of which points to none other than Ye Xiu. This deductive reasoning is enough to leave Liang Yichun, who brought the problem with Lord Grim to Yu Wenzhou in the first place, speechless at The Reveal.
  • Having pissed off the top guilds on the tenth server for accumulating so many records, Ye Xiu and his allies (Tang Ruo, Bao Rongxing, Qiao Yifan, Su Mucheng, Luo Ji and Huang Shaotian) are forced to fight against them one ambush after another. Unlike the Live-Action Adaptation, where they have a much harder time dealing with their opponents before ultimately winning the fight, in the donghua, the worst the party face is being chased and harassed everywhere across the game, yet they practically breeze through their opponents from beginning to end.
  • The 6th All-Star Competition
    • The rookies vs. veterans event allows newcomers in the Professional Alliance to challenge any league veterans, with some even winning their duels. In comes Sun Xiang, who's arrogant enough to boldly proclaim he wants to settle the rivalry between his character "One Autumn Leaf" and Han Wenqing's "Desert Dust", which was originally between Ye Xiu and Wenqing. Not only does the latter win almost effortlessly against Sun Xiang with something as simple as "Eagle Stamp" (a basic skill in the Striker-class) through bypassing "Rising Dragon Soars The Sky" (the strongest skill for a Battle Mage-class), Han Wenqing puts Xiang and every other rookie in their place in the Alliance's hierachy.
      • As a final Take That! towards Sun Xiang, Han Wenqing tells him why he Can't Catch Up to the Living Legend.
Han Wenqing: "But if that was Ye Qiu, at the very least, he wouldn't have missed that Rising Dragon Soars The Sky."
    • Credit goes to Tang Rou during this Story Arc, who winds up deducing that Ye Xiu is the Battle God simply by figuring out who the players behind "Cleansing Mist" (Su Mucheng) and Flowing Tree (Huang Shaotian) avatars are. Not even the many guild leaders, who've played Glory for much longer than her and have repeatedly interacted with him beforehand on the tenth server, were able to catch even the smallest of hints of Lord Grim's real identity (until it was uncovered by their respective teams).
    • At this point in the story, it's been roughly a month since Tang Rou created her "Soft Mist" avatar. Having been personally trained by Ye Xiu at the Happy Internet Cafe, fought against the various guilds and their experienced members on the tenth server via Player Vs Player and even sparred with professional players on Tiny Herb in the arena, Tang Rou is selected to compete against Du Ming of Samsara in the fan vs. professional event. Her public debut is one for the ages as she beats Du Ming cleanly to the eyes of thousands of amateur and pro players alike in the stadium, to the point where Du Ming is forced to ask for a rematch to stave off humiliation.
    • Four words: "Dragon Raises Its Head" - as the picture above from the original net animation shows, this follow-up to the Rising Dragon Soars The Sky technique is deemed by fans of Glory as Ye Xiu's Signature Move, something he hasn't used in two years since The King's Avatar began, but upon doing so after replacing Tang Rou following repeated rematches against Du Ming, this single event becomes his declaration of the intent to come back to the competitive scene in front of millions of players.
      • Making Dragon Raises Its Head even more of a Signature Scene for The King's Avatar, pro players from Sun Xiang to Yu Wenzhou of Blue Rain to Zhou Zekai of Samsara are dumbfounded upon realizing who the person playing for Tang Rou is all along; even Han Wenqing is furious to discover his rival has been in the stadium all this time, to the point where he demands event organizers show who's been competing at the booth, only to find an empty seat (Ye Xiu has left the building at this point). Meanwhile, the audience in the stadium are awestruck as they repeatedly chant "YE QIU!"; the Battle God has returned.
  • For more than 400 chapters in the web novel, Ye Xiu and Lord Grim have never once been truly battle-tested: every fight up to this point has either opponents being woefully lacking in skill and ability, suffering from incomplete and low-leveled characters, or a combination of both. Once Lord Grim enters the "Heavenly Domain" does everything change as Ye Xiu accepts Huang Shaotian's challenge with his professional account "Troubling Rain". Under the eyes of dozens of other pro players from every team across the Alliance, all are eager to see just how dangerous a true Unspecialized-class can be in the current meta of the competitive scene. This fight proves their fears to be well-founded as Ye Xiu's experience, resourcefulness, shamelessness and unpredictability in Lord Grim allows him to overwhelm Shaotian in ways that have never been seen in the professional scene before.
  • The Deception Story Arc, featuring Ye Xiu at the top of his game leading the combined forces of the Excellent Dynasty, Blue Brook, and Herb Garden guilds around by their noses, all while Lord Grim is only at level 52 (everyone else has reached the 70 Level Cap) and wearing level 50 equipment from the normal server compared to the top equipment available from the Heavenly Domain. Said forces consist of well over 300 elite troops combing the map fruitlessly in search of him and his new partner-in-crime, the infamous scrap picker "Deception" used by Mo Fan. Ye Xiu demonstrates precisely why he is called one of the four "Master Tacticians" of Glory as despite being out-numbered, out-leveled, out-geared, he still slaughters the best players from the top guilds. To add a cherry on top, he brings in Heavenly Justice's soon-to-be pro players by having them practice their teamwork as they help him massacre ever larger groups of players.
    • As the arc nears its end, Ye Xiu and his merry band of marauders finally hit their first road bump: Excellent Era's main roster, consisting of Sun Xiang, Liu Hao, Shen Jian, He Ming, and Zhang Jiaxin. In the first exchange, Sun Xiang crushes Deception and Heavenly Justice's offense with minimal support before unleashing Dragon Raises Its Head on Ye Xiu to prove his superiority after the humiliation he faced from the 6th All-Star Competition. How does Ye Xiu respond to this outburst? By making a mockery of all of Xiang's efforts, pointing out how much time he must have wasted studying the movements, patterns, and tempo of an opponent he shouldn't be facing competitively, and for devoting so much effort towards mastering a technique which Ye Xiu found to be more of a gimmick than a trump card. To cap it all off, he berates the entirety of his former professional team for their continuous failure to understand teamwork and coordination, which he aptly proves by suppressing Sun Xiang through the synergy of Heavenly Justice, players whom Xiang had previously deemed as weeds to be stepped on. The ensuing fight only further proves his point as he exploits Sun Xiang's prideful nature to separate him from the rest of his team before quickly and decisively destroying the rest of Excellent Era. Even the brief hope offered by Sun Xiang's activation of the Battle Mage skill "Battle Spirit" proves to be useless against the advantage of teamwork and coordination, culminating in Ye Xiu delivering a devastating summation of Sun Xiang.
Ye Xiu: "With your poor attitude, don't play Glory. Super Mario or Galaxian might suit you better."

Episode 6

  • Due to 301 Degrees being Adapted Out, Blue Rain takes their place in trouncing Excellent Era in the match where Ye xiu commentates for Chen Guo.
    • Initially, things look bad for Blue Rain after Sun Xiang Curb Stomps all three opponents in the 1v1 Individual Challenge, but the team completely turns it around for the 5v5 Team Challenge by using Yu Wenzhou's "Box One" tactic, where they isolate Sun Xiang from the rest of Excellent Era, leaving the remaining four completely vulnerable.
    • According to Ye Xiu, it was Wenzhou's plan to have Blue Rain lose purposefully for the Individual Challenge as it will inflate Sun Xiang's ego, making him easier to aggravate during the Team Challenge. Naturally, to achieve the latter, Blue Rain has Huang Shaotian, whose Trash Talking isn't infamous in the league for nothing.
    • Shaotian's entire tirade towards Sun Xiang is glorious in itself, being a Take That! to Xiang (and indirectly, Excellent Era itself) for thinking he can replace Ye Xiu as either One Autumn Leaf's user or his title as the Battle God. Shortly before delivering the killing blow, Shaotian even mocks Sun Xiang for falling for a tactic as basic and straight-forward as "Divide and Conquer".
    • From the other team, props go to Su Mucheng for being able to pull her own weight: once Sun Xiang shows no intention in being cooperative, Mucheng decides to take over and commands the rest of Excellent Era. As a result, they're able to regain the advantage for a short while. Despite Excellent Era's eventual defeat, the commentators make sure to praise Su Mucheng for her leadership skills and quick-thinking.

Episode 10

  • For the past episode and the first half of this one, Ye Xiu's party is in a tight spot since they're separated and out-numbered by seven of the major guilds on the tenth server, yet each one of them easily gets through their respective obstacles.
    • Thanks to Luo Ji's in-depth knowledge of the map, he and Bao Rongxing are able to evade their attackers and take a safe detour to where Ye Xiu is.
    • After getting over his nerves, Qiao Yifan asks Su Mucheng for a second attempt at using a Status Buff that will strengthen Cleansing Mist's shots, and succeeds, which results in her wiping out Plantago Seed's party that's been cornering the duo.
    • Despite being told to stay within Kongee City's limits (as PvP cannot occur there) after losing her Soft Mist's orange-tiered weapon to Chen Yehui, Tang Rou decides to head back out to the field, only to be ambushed ten-to-one by the enemy guilds. However, recalling Ye Xiu's advice for the Battle Mage-class, Tang Rou fights off all her attackers, even using a skill that strikes them all down in one fell swoop.
  • The fight between the future Team Happy (plus Huang Shaotian) and the remainder of the seven guilds still alive on the tenth server during this episode: while they initially plan to retreat by safely logging out at a blind spot on the map (courtesy of Luo Ji), Tang Rou stays behind to dish out some payback against her ambushers that led to her losing her orange-tiered spear. Again, the collective guild members outnumber Ye Xiu's party roughly three-to-one; they're also running low on Hit Points and Mana. Upon asking his team if they all want to help Tang Rou get her weapon back, none of them have any objections as they rush towards their attackers, beating all of them down simply with skill - their numbers ultimately don't matter.
    • The icing on the cake is Tang Rou taking Revenge on Chen Yehui: recall that in this adaptation, Yehui was on Excellent Era's main roster before Ye Xiu retired and had him demoted to guild duties. Nevertheless, Yehui remains a formidable player, giving Tang Rou some trouble at the start, such that Bao Rongxing wants to help her, but Ye Xiu pulls Bao back to let her handle it on her own. Tang Rou outplays Chen Yehui at every turn and overwhelms him into defeat, all while using a stock spear (since Yehui took hers), and reclaiming her orange-tiered spear. The party walks back to Kongee City with no one impeding them like the badasses they are.
  • Catharsis Factor ensues in the fallout with the guilds, as Chen Yehui is chewed out by Plantago Seed, Cold Night and other guild leaders for his "foolproof" plan. Even if they voluntarily chose to ambush Lord Grim and his teammates and promptly got their asses kicked as a result, including losing Character Levels (since Glory subverts Death Is Cheap), it's satisfying to see Yehui get dealt a Humiliation Conga from them after his failed attempt to satisfy a petty grudge towards Ye Xiu.

Episode 13

  • Just like the donghua, the 6th All-Star Competition potrays the same events, though the live-action pulls a few twists to give noteworthy moments a different brand of awesome.
    • Han Wenqing telling Sun Xiang that while he did well in using One Autumn Leaf's skills, he's nowhere near as proficient as Ye Xiu, who wouldn't have made any mistakes. Unlike the donghua, Wenqing is saying this on a microphone from the master of ceremonies rather than privately in SP; he even calls out Xiang's earlier boast before the match. To reiterate, everyone in the stadium hears Han Wenqing's live roast, which sinks Sun Xiang's reputation further.
      • Bonus points also goes to Chang Xian (Sleeping Moon's name for this adaptation): since the media is present in the stadium, they're allowed to question players post-match. Xian, an amateur reporter in the drama, posits a question towards Sun Xiang in the form of "Are you even taking competitive Glory seriously?" after the loss. Xiang is so incensed that it appears he wants to tear Chang Xian's head off, but the latter stands firm with his query, leading to Han Wenqing answering in Sun Xiang's stead, yet subtlely puts him in his place in the Alliance just like the donghua. Sure, Chang Xian may be biased because he's a Ye Xiu Fanboy, but his question is a legitimate one when Sun Xiang has yet to show he can be a worthy successor to One Autumn Leaf and Ye Xiu's legacy in the league.
    • Due to the absence of Samsara's players (except Zhou Zekai, but even then, he's only referenced by name), Tang Rou's match in the fan vs. professional event goes to Li Rui, an Excellent Era reserve player. Like Du Ming, Rui doesn't take the game seriously, mistaking Tang Rou for an amateur, but instantly pays for it when Tang Rou starts giving him a Curb-Stomp Battle. However, unlike Du Ming, Li Rui has no chance throughout the match to recuperate, leading commentators to state how Rui looks like the amateur, whereas Tang Rou plays like a pro.
    • Unfortunately, Tang Rou's performance is undone because of an interfering Sun Xiang, whose ego is getting the better of him by heading to Li Rui's booth secretly and playing in his place; the skill difference between Tang Rou and Xiang is evident. Having seen enough of Xiang publicly humiliating and taunting his disciple as the match devolves into nothing more than bullying, Ye Xiu decides to do the same as Xiang by playing for Tang Rou secretly, giving viewers a prelude to their inevitable match-up down the line.
    • On a minor note, seeing the other pro players and even the commentators show open disgust and condemnation at Sun Xiang humiliating and taunting Tang Rou by Cherry Tapping her repeatedly, shows the stark difference in mentality between Sun and the veteran pro players.
      • Capping off the All-Star Competition for the drama is Sun Xiang unleashing Rising Dragon Soars The Sky at the same time as Ye Xiu; although both miss their mark, Xiu follows it up with the Dragon Raises Its Head. The latter happens so fast that everyone in the stadium, including the commentators, need a slow-motion instant replay to confirm that's what really occurred. Unlike the donghua, none of the pro team captains are panicking about who's playing behind the stage because they already know full well who is capable of pulling a stunt like this. As the competition draws to a close in the next episode, pro players are glad to know he's back on the scene.

Episode 15

  • The steps necessary to complete Lord Grim's "Myriad Manifestation Umbrella": because he's still missing plenty of materials, some of which can only be acquired in the Heavenly Domain, Ye Xiu is forced to tackle the challenge of entering it. Unlike the web novel and its complicated procedure, to enter the Heavenly Domain in the live-action, players have to kill all the monsters in the dungeon with the Tower of Babel, whereupon its doors will open upon completion. However, per Su Muqiu's notes he left behind to Ye Xiu, if the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella so much as even touches any of the monsters there, it will break. Instead, the only viable option to reach the Heavenly Domain is by literally climbing the tower on the outside. This task forces Ye Xiu to use everything he knows from Glory, using every form of the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella, in order to climb the tower without letting so much as a single monster touch him, all within a ten minute span. The best part? He succeeds on the first try, knowing there can't be a second.

Episode 16

  • Lord Grim's arrival in the Heavenly Domain. How is he welcomed to the highest peak in Glory? It can't get much better than the leaders of Tiny Herb, Tyrannical Ambition and Blue Rain coming to greet you themselves and attempt to pick a fight. While the fight between Ye Xiu and Huang Shaotian is short-lived and isn't finished, they have only one thing to say with the Battle God of Glory returning.
"Welcome back to the Heavenly Domain. May Glory be with you and never end."
    • Better yet, the reason why they all came to the Heavenly Domain at once. Before Ye Xiu went to the Tower of Babel to reach the Heavenly Domain, he posted a message stating to all Players of Glory that he retired on his own terms, not because someone told him to. His final words in the message is more or less his way of saying that he fully intends on coming back to the Professional scene. All of them knew he was coming back, and what better way to greet him than by waiting for him at the Heavenly Domain? It really just comes to show how many people, rivals and friends alike, respect the greatest player of Glory.
  • Luo Ji thwarting the guilds' attempt to disband Ye Xiu's team purely by using their plan against them. To explain in detail: said guilds infiltrated Ye Xiu's team as "novices" and in the Guardian challenge (which runs on a crucial time limit), they pretend to miss the boss by constantly attacking the ice walls. What they didn't account for is that the ice walls can only withstand so much damage before collapsing, and Luo Ji theorizes that the resulting avalanche can insta-kill the boss. The theory works perfectly, leaving the other guilds gobsmacked at being foiled once again. The cherry on top is Ye Xiu telling them he knows that the "novices" are spies and thanks them for making the mission they intended to fail a success, all before logging off.

Episode 18

  • How Mucheng, Guo and Xiu deal with the latter's brother Qiu. Ye Qiu is determined to bring his brother home, and the only way he can do that is if the Happy Guild is disbanded. And Ye Xiu needs the group to be funded. So, what do they do? They trick the poor bastard into thinking he's getting the guild to quit,, all the while they get the necessary funding. And the morning after, once he's been turned drunk, they show him just how happy Ye Xiu is at the Happy cafe.

Episode 20

Episode 25

  • Qiu Fei punching Chen Yehui for talking about Ye Xiu in a degrading manner, and immediately warns him that he won't hesitate to beat him up if he continues to insult Ye Xiu.

Episode 30

  • Team Happy vs. Team Mysterious Fantasy. Despite a poor start in the individual and arena challenges, Team Happy comes out on top by winning the team challenge.

Episode 31

  • Ye Xiu's telling an embittered Excellent Era fan (who, to be fair to him, didn't know any better about why Ye Xiu really left Excellent Era) about how eSports entertains several fans and that the professional players appreciate their support doesn't automatically mean that they play for the fans, since first and foremost they play for themselves. While that might come off as too harsh, which both An Wenyi and Wei Chen point out, Ye Xiu's response is an unexpected Rousing Speech that can resonate with anyone who's stressed between doing what they love for themselves and doing it to please those who are more likely to complain about their efforts instead of appreciating it.
Ye Xiu: When you become professional players, you'll have many fans. With their support and encouragement, knowing what they like and what they dislike, will you then be affected by all that? That's not trivial; it matters. Why do you compete? You should think hard on that, because it may decide how long you would travel on this journey and how well you would play. It's okay to compete to make the fans happy, but it won't make it any easier to win a championship. What fans like may not be the right things. How you should play Glory depends on each of you, because you are professional players.

Episode 34

  • Also heartwarming: Huang Shaotian, Yu Wenzhou, Han Wenqing, Wang Jiexi, and Xiao Shiqin convincing the chairman to not ban Ye Xiu from the League just because he played under a different name (which is against the rules), since no matter what, he's proven to be invaluable to both veterans and newcomers of Glory and to the game itself. Granted, Ye Xiu still faces some repercussions, but the damage of said repercussions are only effective on paper.
  • Tao Xuan's reaction to the board's decision to keep Ye Xiu in Glory is also priceless, especially when he realizes who made it possible for Ye Xiu to stay. The cherry on cake is the guild leaders of Tyranny, Tiny Herb, and Thunderclap giving not-so-subtle Death Glares and the Sword and Sorcerer duo of Blue Rain smirking at him, as if telling him, "You thought you could get rid of Ye Xiu so easily, didn't you?" Granted, Ye Xiu faces a huge bump on the road shortly after, but the audience can tell that the setback is only temporary.

Episode 36

  • All the members and fans of Team Happy repeatedly fighting in the arena to acquire the last rare material Ye Xiu needs to fix the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella... and succeeding.

Episode 39

  • In the Challengers League, Su Mucheng is placed in a tight spot as she will be fighting Ye Xiu's team. It doesn't help that Tao Xuan threatens to bench her if she leaves Excellent Era, and he makes things even worse for her by setting her up to fight Wei Chen, who's injured; if she loses, she might be suspected of throwing the game, otherwise she might get backlash for "unfairly beating" an injured player. So what does she do? She gives it her all against Wei Chen, wins the match in a way that he loses honorably, and then announces that she's leaving Excellent Era to join Happy. No one from Excellent Era is stopping her (nor can they even stop her), and everyone in the audience is cheering her on.
  • Wu Chen has his moment of awesome in this episode. After being distrusted by the rest of Happy, Wu more than vindicates Ye Xiu's faith in him by playing pivotal role in the team fight. First by disrupting Excellent Era's formation and giving Happy an opening to kill one of Excellent Era's players, he then plays almost recklessly, in order to further disrupt Excellent Era's cohesion and sacrifices himself to take down the 2nd player for Excellent Era, giving Happy what looks like an almost insurmountable lead.
    • Until Xiao Shiqin shows why he considered one of the 4 master tacticians of Glory, using a self-destruct attack to wipe out 2 of Happy's players and almost take a third with him, and evening up the playing field. At the time Happy was losing in cumulative points, and had to win with at least 3 players alive in order to catch up on points. Killing all 3 players would have been an instant win for Excellent Era, and only the timely arrival of Ye Xiu to save Tang Rou prevented her death.

Episode 40

  • In the ultimate showdown between Happy and Excellent Era, things look tough for both teams, whose players are all skilled and determined to win. As expected, near the end the ones left standing are Ye Xiu and Sun Xiang, who battle it out with all their might. When the fight is over, things look bleak for Happy, who's only a few points behind. The team already feel defeated, and even the fans are slowly getting downcast... and then the team gets an additional two points for Ye Xiu breaking Han Wenqing's record for highest damage output in a match, netting the team their decisive victory. You will find yourself rejoicing with the characters.
  • Sun Xiang showcasing his Character Development after Excellent Era loses to Happy in the aforementioned match, accepting his loss with nothing but grace. Then when Tao Xuan angrily blames him for costing the team their victory and their credibility, Sun Xiang calmly and humbly answers that Glory isn't a single-player game so everyone in the team holds responsibility for Excellent Era's failure, including Tao Xuan himself.
    • Whether or not he meant his response to be a "Reason You Suck" Speech, it's what finally causes Tao Xuan realize that it's his greed that ruined Excellent Era, not Ye Xiu's reclusiveness and lack of marketability. After watching almost forty episodes of him trying to erase Ye Xiu's name from the history of Glory and bring him down, his breakdown and subsequent Heel Realization is cathartic to watch.
  • After accepting the awards for winning the Challengers League, Ye Xiu is asked if he has anything to say to the audience. After recalling everything that happened to him, this is his answer:
    Ye Xiu: I'm back.
