    Season 1
  • A Hero is Born
    • The very beginning of the series gives us the epic battle between Monkey King and Demon Bull King, ending in the former imprisoning the latter under a mountain for five hundred years. Nothing like an incredible over the top fight to establish just how wild a series will be.
    • Even better, it begins with a snippet of the classic theme song from the 1986 Chinese series, a theme practically the equivalent of the Spider-Man theme for Journey to the West and Sun Wukong in general, to really sell the feel that this is the Great Sage Equal to Heaven himself!
    • Near the end of the special, after meeting and having a talk with Monkey King, MK has his climatic face-off with the Demon Bull King, now empowered enough to the point he's a full-on Kaiju. But his first order of business? Leap into DBK's armor, and take the staff out himself. And after getting the staff back? A full-blown moment of awesomeness as a newly empowered MK proceeds to hand DBK his tail before the villain manages to overpower him as he attempts to seal him away again... Which then leads into:
    • MK's Heroic Second Wind, as in order to really take on Demon Bull King, he proceeds to use his staff to create the Monkie Mech, straight from nothing but earth, and proceeds to take down DBK in a single hit, which not only created a Pillar of Light on both sides of the planet but also could be seen from space! And the sheer blowback even pushed back a faraway planet a good bit too!
    • Some villainous props have to be given to DBK as well, as even with an attack as powerful as what MK delivered, the king managed to survive the insane attack, not even being knocked out by it.
  • Bad Weather
    • Despite losing his invincibility, MK still manages to defeat Red Son and the Demon Bull Clones, briefly matching the former in close combat and finishing them by using his staff as a makeshift lightning rod.
  • Duplicatnation
    • MK rescues Mei from one of his out-of-control clones while simultaneously avoiding a horde of them. First by throwing his staff with enough force to crack the glass barrier, then performing a flying kick right on top of it to break through and break her bonds.
  • Coming Home
    • After spending the whole episode doubting her place in her noble family of dragon descendants, Mei fully asserts herself as a member of the Dragon Clan when faced with a Bull Clone attempting to steal the family's prized Dragon Blade — using her powers that have only been hinted at before this episode to summon a huge Dragon Aura and wielding the sword to throw the clone out.
Mei: You know what? I am part of this family. I am Mei. Descendant of the great Dragon of the West Sea! This is mine, and THIS is my HOUSE!
  • Noodles or Death
    • Pigsy and Tang get their own moment of awesome, putting aside their differences in order to escape Spider Queen's imprisonment and rescue MK.
  • Calabash
    • After figuring out that he's being trapped, MK manages to overcome the combined strength of duplicates of his friends in order to reach his staff, breaking out of the Calabash.
    • Immediately after breaking out, MK is clearly up for a fight against the Gold and Silver Demons, who quickly decide they're no match for him and flee.
  • The Great Wall Race
    • The episode really shows off Mei's Badass Biker credentials, easily driving around the other racers and outstripping them in speed, made all the more impressive in that the course she spent all year preparing for was changed at the last second. If not for MK's interference, she would have easily won.
    • After making amends with Mei, MK uses his powers to create a new vehicle out of the remains of both of theirs, which proves capable of catching up to and surpassing Red Son's lead in seconds, despite the massive gap. In contrast to his usual difficulty with new powers, he manages to reassemble the vehicle within a moment of it falling apart, netting him and Mei the win.
  • Impossible Delivery
    • The opening scene of MK sparring with Monkey King, showing impressive skills with his staff and hand-to-hand and shrugging off the latter tossing him straight into the mountain. Even Monkey King is impressed at his progress.
  • Skeleton Key
    • The entire chase scene between Red Son, Mei, and MK. Special mention to Red Son for detaching a smaller vehicle for speed and Mei parkouring through the falling debris of the larger component.
    • Princess Iron Fan taking on MK and Mei at the same time and easily blowing both of them away.
  • Macaque
    • This episode is credited as the one that gets a lot of fans into the show for good reason — it introduces The Six-Eared Macaque, Monkey King's shadowy arch-rival, the two of them engaging in an epically evenly matched battle in the episode's climax that is not subtle in showing them as light and dark counterparts.
    • In a villainous example of awesome, Macaque himself is immediately set up as an Ensemble Dark Horse, with his shadow-based powers and how the show's tone becomes the most serious it has ever been up to this point thanks to his presence alone.
    • Even though MK just had his powers stolen by Macaque and is pinned underneath the staff, he finally realizes the values of patience and focus that Monkey King was trying to teach him throughout the episode, and through sheer Heroic Willpower is able to lift the staff and use it to deal the final blow to Macaque.
Monkey King/MK: Patience! Focus! STEP INTO THE STRIKE!
  • The End is Here!
    • In the brief time MK was away, DBK's new power source enabled him to take over the city with his army, who were similarly empowered.
    • The heroes run to DBK's thrown room, each member getting MK through an obstacle, and MK himself summoning the Monkey-Mech from the pilot for Mei to use.
    • When DBK goes insane and seems to be attacking his own son, Princess Iron Fan quickly holds him back. There's also her and Red Sons Enemy Mine with MK, holding off the empowered behemoth quite well.
    • MK delivering a one-man No-Holds-Barred Beatdown with his clones before managing to strike the canister that contain DBK's power source.

    Season 2
  • Revenge of the Spider Queen
    • After getting stuck in the Trigram furnace and having a moment of literal self-reflection, MK is able to break free by creating a mechanical dog to ride himself and the furnace back to his friends. The scene where he breaks out is even a direct callback to Monkey King performing the same feat in Journey To The West.
    • While it's compounded by the Nightmare Fuel this scene delivers thanks to the "Mysterious Girl", Monkey King's rare and deadly seriousness when facing her leaves for an iconic and chillingly awesome moment.
Monkey King: So, you thought you had all the pieces right where you wanted them.
Mysterious Girl (aka Lady Bone Demon): (smiling) There are so many moves I've yet to play.
Monkey King: You should have stayed buried.
    • Spider Queen manages to have some villainous examples thanks to the power her mysterious new servant grants her, taking over the entire city with her Spider Mech and turning all the inhabitants into mindless slaves with her venom. When fully charged up, she's able to deliver a Curb-Stomp Battle to the heroes when they confront her, and likely would have won...
    • ...If it weren't for the intervention of Demon Bull King and Monkey King, turning the tide of the final battle and taking away Spider Queen's leverage. Seeing the former band guys and our heroes team up against a common enemy is never a sore sight.
    • In the end, Monkey King helps his protégé to deliver the final blow to the Spider Mech with the staff, both shouting the latter's signature Pre-Asskicking One-Liner.
      • And just to rub in how Spider Queen was good as defeated by this point:
Spider Queen: All of you together can't beat me! I am the QUEEN!
Monkey King: Oh yeah? (walks down the wall, taking the staff before jumping to the ground) Well, I'm the King.
    • Alongside his son, Demon Bull King gets some good awesome points this special — while captured alongside Monkey King, his rage upon hearing the latter intentionally insult his wife and son manages to completely overload Spider Queen's power source and free both of them. The demon bull then follows this up by diving headfirst into the final battle against Spider Queen, proudly proclaiming that no one uses him as a tool. Also, after MK and Monkey King blow up the Spider Mech, he goes out of his way to protect both of them from the blast.
  • Sleep Bug
    • Syntax gets a villainous one for creating a virus that put everyone in the city to sleep, granting easy access to the Cloud. MK only avoids it because of luck.
    • The chase scene between MK and the Cloud Guardians is wonderfully animated and has MK make great use of his staff to avoid them.
  • Dumpling Destruction
    • Despite being caught off-guard and his fear of spiders, MK does quite well against the Huntsman.
    • The vase Tang suggested turns out to be as effective as he predicted, absorbing the meteor-sized dumpling within it... even if it does explode minutes later.
  • Ping Pong Panic
    • Played for Laughs, but the sheer amount of destruction Pigsy manages to wreck on the street by playing ping pong, hitting the ball hard enough to crater the ground.
    • Despite wearing a blindfold, MK briefly manages to match Pigsy in a game of ping pong, exchanging a ball equivalent of Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs.
  • Sweet'n Sour
    • Pigsy shows off his chops as a master chef, easily making a brilliant meal (despite the Gold and Silver Demons' interference) that greatly impresses Princess Iron Fan, despite being paid solely to make him lose (though she still votes against him).
    • MK using his powers to make a pig-based mech to match the Gold and Silver Demons panda one, gearing up for an epic fight.
  • Minor Scale
    • MK manages to quickly get a handle on shrinking after one use and makes good use of it for evasion even while panicking in the midst of facing the Spider Queen, and later the Lady Bone Demon. Guys getting better at learning new powers.
    • Despite initially being fooled by her False Innocence Trick, MK remembers Monkey King's advice to trust his instincts, using his gold vision to see through her deception before he plays into her hands. She commends him for this, noting her disguises have fooled many before him.
    • The Lady Bone Demon gets a villainous moment in how she carries herself throughout the episode, nearly tricking MK into giving up his staff and outright mind raping him when that fails. Even though he escapes, she clearly left a mark on him.
  • Game On
    • MK casually reveals that he's already finished the lessons the Monkey King left for him to work on, displaying fluid control of his staff and its size.
    • After listening to the tutorial MK manages to manifest the game's ultimate move in real life, blowing a hole through the side of Monkey King's house.
  • Shadow Play
    • Macaque giving MK a What the Hell, Hero? for being so caught up in his Angst that he failed to consider his friends were missing.
    • MK has a rematch against Macaque and fares much better, with the shadow user even complimenting his growth. After breaking out of a dogpile of his possessed friends, MK uses his gold vision to identify the shadow lantern as a weak point, and manages to land a decisive strike with his staff, which Macaque clearly felt.
    • Villainous example, the Mayor is revealed to be The Dragon for the Lady Bone Demon, and manages to intimidate Macaque.
  • To Catch a Leaf
    • We get a glimpse of why Sandy chose to become a pacifist, as he manages to intimidate Huntsman with his Battle Aura alone after having his Trauma Button pressed. He then delivers a punch whose shockwave destroys a nearby rock formation without even making contact.
  • 72 Transformations
    • MK reveals that he has started to learn Monkey King's 72 transformations, and despite some initial Power Incontinence, gains greater mastery as the episode goes along, managing to use a spider and gorilla for stealth and combat respectively.
    • After deciding that Spider Queen is of no more use, Lady Bone Demon decides to dispose of her, sending the Mayor to dispose of her minions one by one.
    • MK's rematch with the Spider Queen ends decisively in his favor, destroying her mech and quickly overpowering her after turning into a gorilla. It's only shared empathy for her fear of the Lady Bone Demon that prevents him from finishing her off.
    • The Spider Queen herself, willingly facing off against some ghostly replicas of her own henchmen created by the Lady Bone Demon, buying MK time to escape during the fighting.
      Spider Queen: Boy! RUN!
  • This is the End
    • The episode really showcases how far MK's come this season, making good use of his powers in a sparring session with Mei.
    • MK making good use of all the powers he's learned against the Lady Bone Demon and her mech, smashing it to pieces several times... too bad that's what she was counting on.
    • Lady Bone Demon makes her entrance by stomping Mei, Pigsy, and Sandy at the same time, with zero apparent effort. Her Batman Gambit against MK also works flawlessly, using his own power to increase her own and ending the season unambiguously victorious.
    • Monkey King's Big Damn Heroes moment, saving MK from the Lady Bone Demon and getting the two of them away. He also reveals that he has spent the whole season searching for a weapon that can defeat her, proffering a map that seemingly leads to the pieces and giving the heroes a "Ray of Hope" Ending.

    Season 3
  • On The Run
    • Once again, we get an awesomely animated Monkey King fight scene for a season opener; this time his opponent is the Third Lotus Prince Ne Zha, who is fierce as he is graceful while trying to stop Monkey King from stealing the map that contains instructions leading to the Samadhi Fire — though his efforts still aren't enough against the Sun Wukong, whose determination to stop Lady Bone Demon makes him all too willing to break through a magic barrier in order to take the map, even if it does leave him a bit worse for wear.
    • Mei manages to briefly take Macaque by surprise with her Dragon Blade and also uses it to save MK and herself from falling off the crashing drone at the end of the episode.
  • Great Grand Dragon of The East
    • Mei stands up to her thousand times great-uncle, Dragon of the East, in order to help her friends and take the chance to save the world — an act which helps to convince the latter to let her and the rest of the heroes escape while he takes on Macaque at the end of the episode.
      • The moment when Macaque shows up on Dragon of The East's doorstep with an army of shadow clones at his back, ready to take on a literal dragon king, counts as a villainous example of awesome too.
  • Smartie Kid
  • The Winning Side
    • Even while still trapped in Macaque's shadows, Mei saves MK from the former by projecting out her Dragon Aura the way she saw her distant great-uncle do it a couple of episodes ago, destroying the van copy and freeing herself and Sandy in the process. Even Macaque is impressed by her power.
    • Macaque is certainly going all out on the villain front for the sake of saving his own tail from Lady Bone Demon — creating a disturbingly exact copy of the team's van to trick MK, having complete control over its interior, and using it to trap Mei and Sandy. He also uses the pieces of that smashed-up van later to create his own monkey mech.
    • After once again having Macaque hold his friend's lives over his head and taunt him over losing his staff and powers, to say MK has had enough is an understatement — regaining his 72 transformations, turning into an eagle, and taking Macaque's Mech down in an instant by going straight for his scarred eye, all while epically reaffirming the shadowy primate and himself of who he is.
  • Amnesia Rules
    • Tang gets some points for being able to peacefully talk down Scorpion Queen when he realizes the real reason she kidnapped him; so she could have a friend. He even has an odd moment where a magic aura appears around him when getting between Scorpion Queen and Monkey King to make them stop fighting.
  • Benched
    • Despite the title indicating the position he was put in this episode, and the role he's played throughout the show as the group's least powerful member, Tang absolutely takes the spotlight this episode — not only standing up to Macaque but finally fully revealing his hidden magical abilities and retrieving the third Ring of Samadhi, all by himself. Not bad for a benchwarmer.
    • Not to mention, the team's musical performance to win the third ring provides some epic backing music for Tang and Macaque's confrontation, especially when Pigsy picks up the mic and starts singing — the volume of which even manages to make Macaque's ears ring. Even if Tang took matters into his own hands, they could have absolutely won the ring fair and square.
  • The King, the Prince, and the Shadow
  • This Imperfect World
    • Lady Bone Demon and Monkey King's battle this episode — mainly because in spite of Lady Bone Demon's increased power, she can barely hold her own in a one-on-one fight against the Great Sage, who isn't even in his prime anymore but still proves just how much of a terrifying powerhouse he really is. He would have killed her right then and there, if she didn't have another trick to play in her desperation.
  • The Corrupted King
    • Mei is able to learn how to wield the Samadhi Fire — the weapon repeatedly stated to be completely uncontrollable throughout the whole season — just a day or so after being forged with it by remembering Red Son's lessons about meditation when confronted by Lady Bone Demon possessing Monkey King.
      • When Lady Bone Demon accuses Mei of acting out of cowardice when the latter threatens to destroy Monkey King, the former's current host, to stop her, Mei retorts that's a sacrifice both she and Monkey King are willing to make to save the world.
Mei: Wukong knew the risks. It's what he would do if he had to. That's the hard part of being a HERO.
  • Time To Be Warriors
    • Even after getting captured and placed inside Lady Bone Demon’s mech to channel the Samadhi Fire, Mei still manages to fend off Lady Bone Demon’s control and keep her cool through the meditation Red Son taught her.
    • With a decent plan to stop Lady Bone Demon, the gang suit up and set off the end the nightmare she’s caused once and for all, with Red Son using the same portal spell he used back in the Season 2 special to transport the gang to Lady Bone Demon’s mech — Porty MK even shows up as a hype-man.
    • Sandy, Pigsy, Tang and Red Son barrel through the side of the Mech using their van, and while Red Son jumps to free Mei, the others fend off the ghosts of the Spider Demons and show off thier full magical power to do so; Pigsy making good use of his ping-pong addiction, Sandy going on the offensive, and Tang stepping in with his newly awakened Golden Cicada abilities.
  • Destiny Fulfilled
    • MK stands up to Lady Bone Demon in order to reclaim the staff, and even when the possessed Monkey King quickly defeats Macaque and is advancing on him, the former never wavers in his absolute belief in his mentor...which turns out to be all Monkey King needed to be brought out of Lady Bone Demon's control, the two of them taking back the Golden Staff together.
MK: The Monkey King I know would never stop fighting you! And neither will I.
Monkey King: (Charges forward, looking like he's about to strike MK...but instead, grasps onto the staff, his eyes turning back from blue to gold) Nngh... t-thanks for not giving up on me, bud.
      Lady Bone Demon: (Gasps) No!
Monkey King: Time for the hero stuff.
    • Just when Lady Bone Demon thinks she's destroyed MK, he is able to summon his mech once again thanks to reclaiming the staff and deflecting her own, delivering an epic speech with each of his friends offering their power to charge up his Mech, about how the perfect world is what you make it, before going full Gurren Lagann against her.
Lady Bone Demon: You would allow this world to continue to fester and rot?! The eternal misery of countless souls because of your sentimentality for mortal pleasures!?!
MK: Grhh! You can't judge things by their worst qualities!!
Tang: (Starts glowing, creating a spell amplifying his friend's power as well) This world may not be perfect, but it's still worth fighting for!
Pigsy: Yeah, sometimes it's that bit of char that makes for a more flavorful meat! (Looks over at Tang) Even if it is a bit Tangy.
      Mo: (Meows triumphantly)
Sandy: You said it, Mo! The world may be full of darkness, but to let the light shine through, all we need to do is stand TOGETHER!!
Monkey King and Macaque: (nod at one another, before reaching into themselves and sending their power to MK, alongside everyone else's)
MK: The perfect world is what you make it. So as long as I have my friends by my side, this world. Is. PERFECT!!!! Argh!!!
    • When Lady Bone Demon forces the Samadhi Fire from a captured Mei, Red Son stays behind in the Bone Mech crystal to get through to her — his ensuing speech not only a culmination of his own Character Development but also helps Mei to fully embrace the Samadhi Fire as her own and overcome Lady Bone Demon; bursting out of the Mech, the Samadhi Fire now the color of her signature green flames, and getting a super-powered outfit upgrade to boot.
Red Son: Don't you give up on me, Dragon Girl! The Samadhi Fire is not her power! It's yours! Bend it to your will! Don't use the flame, Mei…
      Mei: Be the flame.
    • With Mei freed and Lady Bone Demon unable to use the fire, Tang — who only unlocked his powers a few days prior — casts a huge spell that cleanses the world of Lady Bone Demon's influence and frees everyone the team has helped over the course of the season, and bringing together their power to create a gigantic golden version of the Monkie Mech; which leads to the truly epic sequence of everyone yelling out the Monkie Kid line while coming together to help MK deliver the final blow.

    Season 4
  • Familiar Tales
    • The entire confrontation between the Gold and Silver Brothers against MK and Mei, the former having amassed a large collection of artifacts, most notably a size-shifting pair of scissors that turn into serpents the size of a building!
      • MK and Mei show they haven't lost a beat since the last season, the former managing to stop the aforementioned serpents dead in their tracks, before knocking them across the city, and the latter piloting a ship well enough to avoid the brothers' barrage of ancient artifacts.
      • He also forms a new version of a Monkey Mech out of nearby debris and Mei's plane after it is smashed to pieces, forming a Power Armour with Flight and sufficient strength to hold off the skyscraper-sized scissors, even wielding them against the demons. The whole encounter was a Curb-Stomp Battle in the heroes favor, the demons wisely deciding to retreat.
    • Overlaps with Nightmare Fuel, but our first glimpse of this season's main antagonist has something emerge from a black scroll that can shapeshift into shadowy versions of prior enemies and manages to terrify and quickly consume the Monkey King!
  • New Adventures
    • Azure Lion's Establishing Character Moment in the present has him stop the cursed ink in its tracks, before proceeding to seal the scroll shut, dealing with the big threat of the season in one badass scene.
  • The Great Tang Man
    • Overlaps with Heartwarming, but soon after awakening within the scroll, Tang manages to use a combination of his powers and an uplifting speech on the value of bonds (in contrast to his past life who scoffed at 'earthly connections') to peacefully convince the old ghost to pass on. The process itself goes both smoothly and more quickly than the one The Great Monk himself used, an impressive accomplishment for someone who still struggles with his powers.
    • Tang displaying the ability to teleport with his powers... too bad it puts them right above a field of lava.
  • Pig-Napped!
    • Tang displays his chops as a Guile Hero, manipulating Zhu Bajie into cooking in a manner similar to Pigsy for the sake of satisfying his pride as a chef, and awakening his friend's memories in the process. In the end, he didn't even need MK and Mei to save him.
    • Related to the above, the fact that he guided Zhu Bajie through making a meal delicious enough to awaken the pig's memories also indicates that he picked up enough knowledge of the Supreme Chef's cooking through simple observation.
    • Pigsy manages to whip up sufficient food to feed (and incapacitate) the demons attacking the heroes in under a minute, displaying outright mystical control over the ingredients in the process.
  • The Court of the Yellow Robed Demon
    • Villainous example, but the ink Curse proves capable of shattering Mei's previously indestructible sword.
    • Kai Mulang arguably gets one in how easily he subdued Mei, who even without her sword is a force to be reckoned with. Later on, he reveals he can shift to a wolf form for combat, implying the previous feat wasn't done with the full extent of his power.
    • Despite her sadness over her sword breaking, Mei remains a Defiant Captive to Kai Mulang. When it looks like he's about to consume the soul of her fellow prisoner, it gives her the push she needs to somehow reforge the blade from just the handle, whose power proves capable of knocking back the former Celestial Being in a clash of might.
    • Said fellow prisoner turns out to be her ancestor Ao Lie, who proves capable of holding off the aforementioned Celestial Being in his much more imposing wolf form, making it clear he was awaiting the correct time to act rather than being helpless like he initially claimed. He matches his former captor by shifting to his own dragon form, gearing up for an epic clash.
  • Show Me The Monster
    • In spite of facing down Sandy's much more violent past life of Sha Wujing (who is implied to be just as, if not more powerful than the Gentle Giant Pigsy is more familiar with), Pigsy fares surprisingly well in a fight, even gaining the upper hand once he becomes angered enough start fighting back. Despite his weapon being little more than a rake, once he starts properly fighting he displays a powerful Battle Aura and by the end he has the powerful Blood Knight at his mercy, only losing the upper hand from a refusal to fight further.
    • When two arrogant students try to bar him from seeing Master Subodhi, MK is having none of it and responds to their boasting of having two of the seventy-two transformations with the below demonstration.
MK: (Sarcastically) Wowww. Two, huh? Alright. Well, maybe I can give you a few pointers on the OTHER SEVENTY! (turns into a gorilla, Acolyte slides out of frame as the two students gape at MK)
    • Master Subodhi himself could be considered a walking CMOA on account of being perfectly aware they are inside a cursed scroll and being one of the first people to show insight into MK's origins. His claims of being 'the greatest teacher' are not without merit, getting right to the heart of what MK needs to know to better help him on his journey and providing valuable wisdom regarding how to handle the revelation of his origins.
      • When MK continues to insist he takes him to Monkey King's stone, he complies by shifting them straight to the location in question, the landscape apparently shifting around the two in an impressive display of skill compared to Tang's more haphazard use of teleportation.
  • Pitiful Creatures
    • Pretty much the entire fight between MK and the Curse of the scroll, which takes a form similar to his own while making use of mimicries of his various abilities. Both sides cycle through all the various abilities the Monkie Kid has learned over the course of the show in a fast-paced, incredibly destructive, and visually spectacular match, essentially acting as MK's equivalent to Wukong's battle with Macaque all the way back in Season 1.
      • The Curse itself gets points for how thoroughly it holds the upper hand through a combination of power and ruthless exploitation of MK's psychological weaknesses, mercilessly picking at both his insecurities about his prior screwups and his current state of denial over his origins, all while wearing a face and voice similar to MK's own. The thing manages to match the presence of the Lady Bone Demon in terms of Nightmare Fuel.
    • Even when MK's friends and mentor arrive to help him, the Curse barely lets up, quickly isolating everyone with mystical fog and delivering a Breaking Speech to undermine their morale. Even Wukong's Rousing Speech about how they are not defined by who they were yesterday in response barely slows it down, as it gleefully points out that the Monkey King himself doesn't believe those words.
    • Of course, MK's friends refuse to let those words get them down and bring all their power together to stop The Curse — and the strength of their conviction gives Monkey King the exact motivation he needs to declare that these ARE his friends, and he won't let anyone hurt them.
    • Two Words. MONKEY MK.
      • And HOW. Just when we thought MK had reached the height of his capabilities, turns out he's part mythical monkey just like Monkey King, and is perhaps even MORE than what he was — not even needing his staff. His initial use results in him flickering between it and his usual form, with the mere activation unleashing sufficient power it creates gold cracks in the sky above them, letting the others and Monkey King quickly find him. Once The Curse pushes MK far enough with its torment, he turns fully into monkey form while yelling at it to shut up, and epically delivers a flaming final blow to the Eldritch Abomination. This blow creates massive golden cracks in the sky that allow his friends and Monkey King to reach him and provide much-needed support.
      • And even on the brink of the end — The Curse's last words? "Then prove us wrong."
  • The Brotherhood
    • When Azure declares that he needs to keep Monkey King imprisoned so as not to stand in the way of him and his brother's plan to overthrow the Jade Emperor, MK quietly and angrily demands for him to let Monkey King go. When Azure tries to talk him down, MK's monkey form comes back full force in rage and protectiveness over his mentor. His newfound lightning-fast speed allows him to easily dodge Peng and Yellowtusk without them even noticing, zip around Azure to disorient him, then knee-slide and sweep his leg while he's distracted, coming so close to getting back the scroll piece. Azure, for his part, can't help but see Monkey King in his place.
  • Roast of the Monkie Kids
    • Though he's sadly outmatched, DBK does manage to subdue Peng and Yellowtusk. Temporarily freeing his wife and son after the pair had been restrained by his former "brothers".
    • In spite of his previous boasting of his tracking skills, Peng is unable to track down Macaque. Who appears to have learned to better cover his tracks.
  • The Jade Emperor
    • A villainous example on behalf of the Brotherhood taking on the entire military of the Celestial Realm, including Ne Zha and Red Son leading the charge.
      • Ne Zha himself shows admirable determination in trying to stop them from getting to his emperor — even though he’s beaten to a pulp by the end of the episode, he still gets back up and keeps fighting for his station.
    • A newly emboldened MK finally breaks out of his Heroic Bso D and pulls a Big Damn Heroes moment when Azure Lion is about to cut down his friends, appearing in flashes of fiery speed to knock him about. Not to mention, his reveal shot shows he’s finally learned to summon his own Somersault Cloud.
      • Then it turns out this was all a Guile Hero move on MK's part, as he only intended to distract Azure so he could get back Monkey King’s scroll piece before escaping with his friends.
    • The Jade Emperor might be an old man with little time left once Azure confronts him, but even then, his raw power is terrifying, just a shift in motion making the entire room quake. He even makes sure Azure has to earn his victory in a Single-Stroke Battle... which he does.
  • The Plan Man
    • While Monkey King isn't "technically" able to come up with an exact plan to beat the Brotherhood. He was smart enough to have learned the weaknesses of each member. Including, that Peng is a coward who will flee at the first sign of trouble. That Yellowtusk is not pure evil and might be reasoned with. And that Azure's irrational hatred toward Monkey King himself could be used against him.
    • In the end, it's MK and Mei who manage to come up with a plan to defeat Azure, Peng, and Yellowtusk.
    • After some training with Monkey King to hone their skills, MK and Mei are the first to get some cool new armor.
  • Rip And Tear
    • Mei shows off her strategic chops after finally taking to heart Shifu Subodhi's lessons, coming up with a Batman Gambit strategy using Azure's irrational hatred of Monkey King against him to pull together MK's plan to defeat the Brotherhood.
    • During Macaque and Peng's face-off. Peng taunts Macaque, but Macaque proves he's grown greatly since they last met.
Macaque: You know Peng, straight up? I have never liked you. (Mei appears out of Macaque's shadow, managing to catch Peng off guard)
    • Monkey King and MK fight Azure together for the first half of the episode and do their part of annoying him to absolute perfection while also successfully fending him off, even with his Jade Emperor-empowered form.
    • It's ultimately short-lived, but Azure does make a valiant (and frankly badass) attempt to turn the tides back in his favor once he catches onto what MK and Wukong have actually been doing. He attempts to crush Wukong while his back is turned, only for MK to dash in and hold off Azure's massive paw by himself.
Azure Lion: After all Sun Wukong has put you through, how much he has let you down, you would still meet your fate trying to protect him?! He doesn't deserve such loyalty! Yet you insist on learning the hard way, just as I did! I should have never trusted the Monkey King! The False Sage, equal TO NOTHING!!
    • When Azure Lion finally pushes MK to the brink by threatening his mentor for the last time, Monkey MK is back, and the gloves are off — delivering an absolutely AWESOME Curb-Stomp Battle against the mad God King, becoming fiercer, faster, and more powerful than we've ever seen MK before. It's honestly pretty damn terrifying as well.
MK: (going into monkey form) Hmph. Well, alright then.
    • Throughout Azure and Monkey MK's entire battle — but even calling it that is implying that Azure is standing any real chance against MK in this form — MK is rightfully calling Azure Lion out for his hypocrisy and betrayal, which is cathartic to watch after all he's gone through this season due to the former deceiving him into helping his plans.
      • The scene also has some of the most incredible imagery from any of MK’s battles so far — such as an absolutely GIANT monkey form appearing from Monkey MK’s power, and his final blow sending Azure rocketing down upon Flower Fruit Mountain — splitting it in half.
MK: That’s what you were pretending to be, right? To be my friend? To care about me?? When really you were just using me to get what YOU wanted!! To turn me against my own mentor! Put your hand in the monkey cage, and expect to get bit, son!
  • Better Than We Found It
    • Macaque decides to let Peng fly off and ditch their sworn brothers as expected, but not before he finally gets to show them up for all their jerkassery towards him in their youths, with Mei right alongside him. And when Peng gets angry and tries to strike Macaque from behind, Macaque summons his shadow form, as Mei's dragon form stands right beside him.
Macaque: Mei, let them go. After all... (with a grin) You always were the most cowardly of the bunch.
    • After having his Heel Realization, Azure Lion spends his final moments finally doing something legitimately heroic after a lifetime of living under a delusion — taking control of the Jade Emperor's power and using it to pull the universe back together, not letting up even as the power fully destroys him as the price. It's enough to constitute a Heroic Sacrifice on his part, giving his life to fix his mistakes and save the world.
    • Ne Zha, while still heavily injured from his fight his the Brotherhood in Heaven and with some assistance from Tang, Mei, Pigsy, Sandy, Yellowtusk, and Macaque, is able to successfully seal the Jade Emperor's power before it can cause any more damage.
