And The Fandom Rejoiced / Wreck-It Ralph

• The mere fact that it was Uncanceled already counts; however, since it's a Video Game movie it's likely going to stink— what? Did you just say that...
  • ...it's about the whole Video Games medium, and not a licensed movie? Cool!
    • ...it's about an 8-bit era character experiencing the modern-day game industry? Great! And the fact that the modern-day games are represented by a first-person-shooter is further evidence that someone's doing some homework.
  • ...John Lasseter is directing? Awesome!
    • Though technically, former The Simpsons and Futurama director Rich Moore, himself a nerd, is the real director and also one of the three co-writers. Jim Reardon, a fellow former Simpsons director and one of the three writers of WALL•E, co-wrote this as well.
  • ...they're getting cameos from game characters? Yeah, as if they're going to pull a Who Framed Roger Rabbit without lawyer friendly cameos— DISNEY IS NEGOTIATING RIGHTS FOR WILY, EGGMAN, PAC-MAN GHOSTS, KANO AND BOWSER?!? Disney. Shut. Up. And. Take. My. Money. Already.
    • Eggman is confirmed?!? (cue the Sonic fandom reuniting and wetting themselves in excitement)
    • Observe the explosion of cheers in this video (1:05) when Ralph walks by Sonic giving a Sonic Sez PSA.
    • To top it all off, the in-movie Public Service Announcement has Sonic speaking with Roger Craig Smith's voice. And the Role Reprise isn't even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the extent of the writers Showing Their Work: the lines are delivered with the hedgehog's well known cool attitude. If a cameo - granted, it's an important character, but still "just a cameo" - gets that amount of research, then it's easy to predict how the rest of the movie will be like.
• And then came the first trailer. Disney's been smart enough to include the One-Scene Wonder that the Villain Support Group is quickly building up to be. To quote a YouTube commenter^note  from another uploaded version of the same trailer, "I GEEKED OUT COMPLETELY AT THE VILLAINS SCENE". If the movie wasn't hyped enough already, the physical faithfulness of Bowser's and Eggman's portrayals in the movie was more than enough to make said hype skyrocket. Disney isn't messing around with this movie.
• There are plans for a sequel! Squee!
  • And then when the sequel's release date was confirmed for March 9, 2018, the fandom went into overdrive.
    • Although it's now been delayed to November 21 of the same year. Oh well, if it allows the sequel to be as good as it needs to be...
  • Not only are we getting a sequel that involves the internet, it will also have all of the official Disney Princesses, Anna, Elsa, and Moana playing a part in it. Not since House of Mouse and Kingdom Hearts have we had so many Disney Princesses in one place. With the exception of Snow White, Aurora, and Cinderella they will all be voiced by their original voice actresses. That is also ignoring the fact that Princess Leia, Yoda, R2-D2, C-3PO, Gamora, and Iron Man will appear in the movie as well.
