Being the first game where pretty much all of Disney converges, Disney Infinity can get a lot of people very excited.
- What is this Disney Infinity thing? Skylanders made by Disney? Sounds totally dumb... JACK SKELLINGTON IS GOING TO BE IN IT?
- Cool, Phineas and Agent P are in it.
- If I get all 29 figures, I'll unlock a LIGHTSABER!?
- They're releasing a sequel already? I don't know. I just bought all the figures for the first game... The Avengers are coming?!
- But I really can't afford to re-purchase the originals... wait, they all work with 2.0? With the upgrades?!
- Spider-Man is going to have its own playset in the game? And I'm going to be able to play as Venom?
- Hiro and Baymax are playable in 2.0?! AND Hiro's gameplay mechanism allows him to control microbots?!
- This is cool, but it doesn't feel like it has enough core Disney characters... Wait, they're putting in Aladdin characters? And Stitch? And Donald Duck?!
- The Mistress of all Evil is in? Finally!
- We're getting Sam and Quorra figures? That's fantastic! I can't wait to... Wait, they're only coming to the app and PC version of the game? What the heck, Avalanche? What about us console gamers?
- Don't worry, they'll have figures in the 3.0 version.
- Look like we got a 3.0 leak. Let's see. I guess Olaf, and the Inside Out characters will be fun to play as. Wait a minute. Mulan is getting a figure?! And we'll finally get actual Sam and Quorra figures? This is good. This is very good! Anything else? It seems they're making another Mickey figure, and Minnie's with him? Interesting, but I already have Sorcerer's Appentice Mickey. Why would I need... Wait! Mickey's wearing his classic red shorts and shoes? Minnie's wearing her red and white polka-dot dress that's at the Disney Parks?! Hold on... is that a Star Wars PLAY SET!?
- So Star Wars is getting figures and play sets for 3.0, that's really awesome but I still want more out of Marvel... Wait! There is an Ultron Figure AND a Hulkbuster Iron-Man figure?!
- And a NEW 3-D BRAWLER PLAY SET?!
- So Captain America's getting a new figure? OK then, but I want more characters, not new figures for old... Wait... Is that Scott Lang?

- A Kingdom Hearts costume for Mickey is in 3.0! ...But only 5000 copies exist and they were exclusively handed out to the audience at D23 2015. But hey, it COULD result in another Author's Saving Throw.
- For getting EVERY figure in 3.0, including Marvel, Star Wars and Disney, it unlocks a KeyBlade! Counting the 25 that are on the way, that a little over 60 figures to get... Wait, the post-Zootopia figures aren't required? OK, that makes it a little better...
- Peter Pan is coming to the 3.0 edition?! That's so cool man!

- Not a complete Downer Ending, though! Two years after the game ended, a box of Peter Pan figures appeared on a Chinese auction site. So at least some fans were able to get the figure.
- As a bonus, they cost less than the figure would have cost if they were officially sold in stores.
- So we're getting Ant-Man as well as Vision and the Black Panther with the launch of Marvel Battlegrounds? Good stuff! Would like more classic Disney, though...hmm, they're discussing the new live-action take on The Jungle Book so we're probably getting a fig- BALOO?! CLASSIC BALOO?! We got our bare necessities, everyone!
- Everyone saw this coming, but the fact that we're getting a Finding Dory Play Set, complete with Dory and Nemo as playable characters is still really sweet. And the Play Set appears to be a side-scrolling platformer, too. Side-scrollers are always nice!
- The fandom was worried that Dory and Nemo (who are fish instead of humans or otherwise bipedal creatures) would be severely limited because of their non-standard designs like the Cars characters. (Such as being unable to participate in Toy Box Takeover.) However, gameplay has surfaced and both characters appear to be just slightly modified versions of the standard character gameplay, giving fans hope that they won't have restrictions like those of the Cars characters. Sure enough, Dory and Nemo were eventually shown to be capable of holding tools/weapons and driving vehicles.
- Avalanche Studios has been revived under Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment with most of its former employees? And they're still willing to work with Disney? Great! Could this eventually lead to Infinity being Un-Cancelled, though? Maybe it wouldn't hurt to be a little cautiously optimistic...
- While Disney Infinity may be gone, its legacy lives on in the form of the "Toybox" toyline, which reuses Disney Infinity figures and turns them into action figures.
- Since the series was confirmed to be cancelled, "Gold" versions of all three games are available on Steam, which feature every character and power disc as built into the game and available from the start, with no additional purchases needed! Unfortunately, some of the very last content releases for 3.0 aren't included and are console exclusive as there was no time to include them before development shut down completely.
