Der Film Part 5: No Admission, One Long Line, Plenty of Rides

Oarai's holding up surprisingly well, with the score being 22 to 24, and Anchovy and Kinuyo report how things are going on their end. Katyusha's the only survivor of her school, but Darjeeling reassures her. Miho apologizes, saying that the losses were her fault, but Maho reassures her, saying that she's relying by the book too much, and to fight her own way. Miho tells the remaining teams to fight their own way, and Erika starts to make a snide remark about it being a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits, but Maho shuts her up, saying a makeshift team is still a team, and they cover each other's weaknesses. Oarai's remaining teams go down the road into an abandoned amusement park that one of the Chihatan tankers calls "a desolate place," while Fukuda's fascinated by the giant Ferris wheel. Assam's concerned about the odds, bringing up two stat polygons that show Oarai at a disadvantage, but Pekoe and Darjeeling are confident that destiny mightjust go Oarai's way. Miho agrees, and believes in her teammates. As a montage of Oarai's team is shown, Kinuyo wonders what Chihatan has going for it, but concludes charging might not be the only thing they can do for their allies this time.

The UST moves in on the theme park as Oarai sets up defensive positions at each gate. Anchovy goes up a large rollercoaster, confident that they won't be spotted. Once there, she spots the enemy at the southern gate. Miho tells the first formation to help out, while the other gates to watch out for the enemy. Anzio, keeping watch, notes that the enemy kicks up dust to look imposing, and wonder if it's like Operation Macaroni. As the fighting starts, and Pepperoni expresses frustration at not being able to join in, Carpaccio grows worried, noticing that there's a lot of dust considering the rain stopped, and they soon realize it's a smokescreen (which they point out is one of the Thirty Six Stratagems), so Miho orders Saunders to help. Chihatan prepares to charge to regain their honor (not considering that the most likely reason why it's been damaged is that they're such a liability to their allies). Fukuda says as much to her teammates, and while two of them scold her, forcing her to apologize, but Kinuyo asks Fukuda if she has a plan.

Rosehip prepares to duel the "Chaffee," as it bursts through the gate, but Darjeeling orders her back, and Rosehip barely avoids the bullet. Saori looks up to see what kind of T28 it is, and realizes it's a heavy one. As the other tanks advance, protected by the T28 vanguard, St. Gloriana curses their not bringing a Tortoise (which they don't have), and Anchovy notices that it's probably the maint thrust of their attack. Miho orders Saunders and Oarai to help. St. Gloriana likens the T28 to various creatures from Lewis Carrol's "The Jabberwock" (never mind that he only gave us the vaguest idea of what they look like).

Megumi's company breaks through and heads to Point Z(I have to wonder if Oarai and the UST are using different names for the same locations). Meanwhile, against their nature, Chihatan puts aside their desire to charge so that they can be of use to their comrades. Katyusha notices 4 tanks, and Maho calls for Erika to go, dispatching them in short order. Four UST tanks advance, checking for hostiles, but then gets ambushed by several hidden and partiallly submerged Chihatan tanks, with them taking one out before retrating.

Miho notices that the enemy wants to split them up, but won't let them. Alice, after hearing that things aren't going as smoothly as she hoped, decides to adapt and play along. Chihatan plans another ambush, but one of them accidentally breaks her balloon first, forcing the four of them to flee (I do have to wonder whether it would have worked again, since it's more conspicuous). Meanwhile, the UST tries to flank its enemies, and Maho notices that a Chaffee is trying to lure them into an ambush. Darjeeling notices that it all seems strange.

As a ferry takes Mika's tank back, she notes that she's not quite as optimistic about the situation as her subordinate, and cryptic as ever, tells her to wait and see.

Meanwhile, Miho notices that the utility gate team will be encircled, and goes to help. Others join in, and Chihatan is forced to abort an ambush. As the UST closes in on the encircled troops, Oarai reinforcements arrive. The Bermuda Trio smugly note that the encirclement is complete and the match is "so one-sided" (forgetting that Oarai has gotten much farther than could be expected of them).

Rabbit Team is faced with a quandary, knowing they must help but unsure how. When Saki's about to say something, she doesn't get distracted by the butterfly, but points out the Ferris Wheel. Both guns fire simultaneously, and in a scene clearly inspired by Professor Layton and the Curious Village, the Ferris Wheel rolls downhill like a giant wheel, and the Rabbit Team briefly hesitates, then runs in a straight line, before running to the side. Much to Oarai's surprise and the UST's horror, it not only rolls all the way downhill, but goes uphill and (with the help of Oarai tank fire) turns around before coming down again, forcing the UST to scatter and enabling Oarai to escape. The Ferris Wheel, still going, finally stops, enabling Oarai to put Plan F into action.

Katyusha insists on fighting, and gets annoyed at Anteater and Leopon being overly familiar with her. Meanwhile, Chihatan's tanks, which still have the duck heads on, join the fight, as does the real Duck Team. One tank disguises as part of the scenery and takes out a UST tank that way in "Operation Macarroni Zwei." The fighting spills into an Old West-themed area, and Hippo Team ambushes another team the similar way. Leopon Team drives through the sets, and Anteater Team enthusiastically fights.

Miho drives through a hedge maze with some others, while Duck and the Chihatan tanks ambush the others in an arcade. They go upstairs and down a ramp to force one pursuer to turn its gun, sandwiching it between several units and finishing it off at point blank range.

Back in the hedge maze, Miho takes out one of Rumi's subordinates, forcing her to request reinforcements. Rumi, frustrated by Miho seeing through her tactics, as if she's just now realized it, decides to force Miho into a dead end. One of her tanks succeeds, but Turtle Team fires and takes her out.

Alice then talks to Boko, likening her opponents to him, noting that they always get back up no matter how badly they're beaten (but unlike Boko, they actually have a fighting chance, and don't pick fights for no reason). As the Bermuda Trio bicker about how much trouble they're faring and whether they should get Alice involved, Alice sings the Boko theme into the radio, which revitalizes them.

As the T28 advances, Darjeeling's confident that it can't fit through the door, until it detaches its treads and comes through. Azumi knocks out Turtle Team before it can get its Master Arm out. Anchovy's group notices a Centurion coming in... then notices a tank somehow coming after them (in spite of how it's a miracle that the two-ton tankette fits on there). They retreat down the narrow tracks, but the tank follows, putting the tracks between its treads, pursuing them. Alice then arrives, and utilizing Conservation of Ninjutsu to her advantage, takes down her five opponents.

Darjeeling's group has a plan to take down the Centurion by attacking its weak spot, and while the others complain about its lack of elegance, they point out it's for Miho's sake. As a result, Naomi fires on the tank from underneath, disabling it, but her tank and Darjeeling's are taken out in short order.

Anchovy continues to evade her pursuer, going through a tunnel. A tank bars their way, but they fire, and Rabbit Team takes it down from afar, and does the same with another before being taken down by Alice's centurion. Meanwhile, the Bermuda Trio does a Combination Attack that takes down Alice, Naomi and Kay. Alice takes out Turtle Team, and does the same with Anteater when their lever breaks. Anchovy's CV 33 gets off the tracks by falling onto Mallard Team- miraculously, neither team gets taken out. Other Oarai tanks seek to impede the enemy, while Rosehip jumps the canal and does a Mutual Kill with a Pershing. Anchovy and Sodoko's team come up with an impulsive plan to take down a Pershing, and Sodoko doesn't even care that it's against the rules. Leopon Team proposes having Erika and Katyusha use the slipstream to their advantage. Anchovy's CV 33 flits in and out of their foe's range, then skips across the pond, forcing the enemy to stop and get picked off, but also sending them straight into another tank's line of fire. As Rumi smugly notes that they'll never catch her, Leopon Team takes advantage of there not being a rule about modifying the engine, causing the other two to accelerate and take down some of UST's tanks, even if they also lose themselves.

It's now down to 2 against three, with the two remaining on Oarai's side being the Nishizumi sisters. They go around the central area, with Miho ramming a tank to knock its line of fire off, then shooting one of Maho's attackers from above. Maho uses one of those swinging "Viking ship" rides to her advantage- she barely fits under it, but the other UST tank isn't so lucky, getting knocked back and taken out.

Everyone else watches from the sidelines, and even the usually somewhat cheerful Chiyo seems grim. Alice then takes up refuge on the top of the mountain. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensues, reminiscent of Miho and Maho's final duel. Somehow, Miho manages to launch a rocket so that it loosens an iron wheel. Miho then proposes a plan to her team and gets their approval, and circles around Alice a few times. It doesn't quite go as they planned, as their attempt gets cut off a few times, and Alice is seemingly distracted by a bear passing through. The sisters climb to the top of the mountain, charging at Alice. Maho hesitates, but Miho nods in approval, and Maho fires a blank, enabling Miho to ram into Alice and shoot her, defeating her while being taken out herself. In the end, while Oarai succeeded in taking out all of the UST's tanks, it cost them all of theirs except for Maho's.

Next Installment: The film's ending and Arisu War.
