Excluding the name changes to characters and attacks (as well as some editing around of scenes in the first two episodes), the dub stays as faithful to the original show as possible. Characters die, the level of violence stays practically untouched, and [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar a brief flash of a naked Lady Kayura was even left intact]]. (Not even Cartoon Network caught that last one.) The dub's adherence to a faithful adaptation made ''Ronin Warriors'' one of the least-Macekred shows of its time.

He shows no hesitation in trying to sacrifice her with the rest of his minions when [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness her usefulness is over]] and has her mentally tortured and [[DemonicPossession possessed to keep her useful]]. When he resurfaces, Talpa attempts to unleash his power without any regard for collateral damage. Defined by his {{greed}}, hunger for power, and cruelty, Talpa is [[CardCarryingVillain proud of how many lives he had stolen in the past]].

* FoeYay: The official Ronin/Warlord rivalries are sources. The rivalry between Anubis/Shuten and Ryo breaks the mold, but takes the FoeYay to the next level. Rowan and Kayura definitely had their moments of this too.

** Also, why is the final battle with Talpa such a TearJerker? [[spoiler:Because it's a mirror image of the first battle between the Ronins and Talpa. The first time around, Ryo was on the outside of Talpa's body while his friend's souls were trapped within, [[KillUsBoth binding Talpa with their powers and begging Ryo to destroy them all.]] Logically, poor Ryo couldn't go through with it. In the final battle with Talpa, the positions are reversed. Ryo is fused with Talpa, binding the villain with ''his'' power, begging his friends (now on the outside) to destroy ''him.'' They have no alternative but to go through with it because by this time, they're out of options. It's a good thing for Ryo the Jewel of Life was nearby, otherwise the series would have had a Bittersweet Ending... ]]
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Uncensored nudity managed to get past Creator/CartoonNetwork's censors ''twice''.
* HoYay: '''''Damn.''''' ...er, this is bound to be a factor given the CastFullOfPrettyBoys. The heroes are all in their early-teens, but the show doesn't have any romantic component to speak of. When you further consider how close-knit their friendship is (and the fact that many of them are from broken families), you can't help but wonder although Seiji constantly made smooth passes at Nasuti in the original version. Ryo also does fall in love with Luna in the 1st OVA, ''Gaiden''. [[spoiler: Sadly, she is killed by the BigBad.]]
** Seiji and Nasuti have minor flirtation in YST which is completely removed in the dub. Rowen is also part of a fan preferred couple with Lady Kayura, despite the fact she is physically twelve. However, both of these pairings as well as Ryo's relationship with Luna are often ignored by fanfiction writers in favor of homosexual relationships.
** The Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei manga calls the series a "rite of passage" for Yaoi Fangirls.

* UnfortunateImplications: Talpa said to Kayura that once the mortal world was conquered, he would rule with Kayura at his side. Again, Kayura is technically a 12 year old girl.
** There's the fact that Talpa is at least 1000 years old, and marrying young was common in those days. At the least, it's still ValuesDissonance, but he ''is'' the BigBad.

* CreepyChild / CuteGhostGirl: Suzunagi, though the hatedom tends to lump her in the MarySue category due to the fact that she's one of the central characters [[spoiler: and she spends a lot of time with each of the Ronin Warriors in order to trap them into her own suits of armors.]]

* DarkerAndEdgier: In the first episode of ''Gaiden'' the Armor of Halo, which is controlled by Shikaisen, murders a [[GangBangers group of people]] in Harlem, New York. [[FamilyUnfriendlyViolence Blood, implications of necks being broken and dead bodies are visible on-screen.]] A scene where a dead photographer with a knife sticking out of his chest is also shown on-screen.
* DarkestHour: When Ryo believes he's lost all of his friends against [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever humongous Talpa]] in the first season. In the last episode of ''Legend of the Inferno Armor'' the Ronin Warriors [[spoiler: are faced with the possibility of the entire universe being destroyed because of the opposing Black and White Inferno Armors.]]

Yet once he confronts Ryo, Sage, and Cye, he become somewhat of a NeutralEvil. [[spoiler: When Cye manages to beat him, he falls back into the TrueNeutral mode.]]
