* DeathOfTheHypotenuse: A canon example in ''The Two Thrones'', which features [[spoiler: Kaileena]] being killed by the Vizier and becoming the Sands of Time in order to make way for Farah. She is revived in the end, and declares that she will now seek out other worlds so that no one can ever abuse the power of the Sands again. This was actually quite well received given that most fans liked Farah better.

\"Please only add examples that are presented In-universe. When it comes to this trope in Real Life, this descriptor applies to literally everything. No matter how universal the affection for something may seem, there is someone, somewhere who doesn\'t care for it. The only way to cover all the possible examples would be to write \"Everything ever, to some extent\", so Real Life examples aren\'t necessary. \" It is in the Love It Or Hate It last paragraph

* LoveItOrHateIt: ''[=PoP=] 2008'' was either a successful experiment in gameplay, storytelling, and aesthetics that took the franchise into the current generation; or a complete waste of time because it's too easy.

Missed Moment Of Awesome (now Offscreen Moment Of Awesome) is not \"they SHOULD have done it, it\'d be cool,\" or \"it wasn\'t cool ENOUGH.\" It\'s \"they DID do it, and you never got to see it.\"

* MissedMomentOfAwesome: From a story perspective they dropped the ball majorly with the Dark Prince.

Added DiffLines:

* ItsEasySoItSucks: Probably the largest complaint against 2008. You can't ever get killed, because Elika automatically uses her magic to save you, resetting just the current puzzle or combat. You never had to reload the game unless you chose to stop playing. The ''Sands'' trilogy had been similar in principle, because rewinding time also allowed you to cheat death; however, it was trickier in practice. You could only rewind a few seconds at at time, so you could wind up too deep in trouble to back out again. Plus the power had limited uses and needed recharging. Screw up too much and you got sent back to the last save point.
** The mechanic of Elika saving you from "death" was an intended mechanic to strip away time from reloading saves and having to travel all the way back to the spot you failed, as well as creating an illusion of an unbroken story (so you don't go through earlier cut-scenes, etc. unless you loaded up a save). It as much a DeathIsASlapOnTheWrist as the previous trilogy, only that you no longer have to sit through loading, cut scenes, and wading through the same traps over and over.

* GeniusBonus: ''The Forgotten Sands'' contains several references to King Solomon that seem enormously out of place if you only know him from TheBible. However, in both Jewish and Islamic mythologies, Solomon was a powerful sorcerer. In ''The Sands of Time'', the Prince twice mentions [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rostam Rostam]], a famous hero in Persian mythology.
