Among the old are Nathaniel, Castiel, and Priya, and among the new are Hyun, a fellow college student, and Rayan, a professor at the Academy. All five of them are potential love interests that Candy can date. UL ran from 2018 to 2020, ending at a total of 20 episodes.

''High School Life'' is the first season and features Candy during her late teen years. Upon transferring to Sweet Amoris High School, she meets Nathaniel, the student council president; Castiel, the resident bad boy; Lysander, a kind if mysterious boy; Armin, a geeky boy and fellow transfer student; and Ken (full name Kentin), a boy from Candy's previous school. Depending on the player's choices, Candy can flirt with and eventually date one of them. Not everything is about the boys, though; throughout her time at Sweet Amoris, Candy can befriend a variety of classmates. Not everyone is very welcoming, however, chief among them Amber, the resident AlphaBitch and Nathaniel's twin sister. HSL ran from 2011 to 2018, ending with a total of 40 episodes.

So needing some fresh air, you step outside, only to find a crowd surrounding Armin [[spoiler: as he is being arrested by the police]].

* MurderIsTheBestSolution: Surprisingly, it wasn't Kentin nor Castiel who thought this (though Kentin supported it). It was Armin. He even thought up to MakeItLookLikeAnAccident. For the record, he thought of this against Debrah for hurting you and for (supposedly) manipulating his brother. BewareTheNiceOnes indeed. Debrah's lucky no one wanted to go to jail.

* NotWhatItLooksLike: Episode 18 in the science lab with Castiel, you throw your shirt at him to get the rabbit off of you. Then Mr. Faraize walks in.

* OldFlameFizzle: Though it varies, no matter how high your LO'M with Ken/Kentin is, once he comes back it drops significantly and he says he 'moved on'. Naturally given the premise of this game you can bring it back up easily.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Kentin kisses Amber...and then breaks her phone and calls her ugly as revenge for bullying him before.

* [[PettheDog Pet the Dog]]: In episode 12 Amber sees telling you that Nathaniel's bruises "happened at home" as her good deed of the year. She still makes you give her a $300 cellphone for that piece of info though. This actually turns out to be an unknown good deed on her part, since in truth she had no idea where he got those bruises (or even that he had them).
** Has a few genuine ones later on. In episode 17 where she admits your candy did good stopping Debrah. Her first and so far only moment of kindness she shows your candy. And in episode 18 she wants to help save the rabbits.
* PrecisionFStrike: A few curse words are scattered through out (mostly from Castiel) but the trope definitely applies to Nathaniel in episode 16 about Debrah.

Makes you wonder how Armin and Kentin would've reacted since they got a DeathGlare just for talking to your candy.

* SelectiveObliviousness: Amber just thinks that [[spoiler: Nathaniel gets in trouble with their father a lot]] and doesn't really know or understand the full extent of what's really going on. Later on, everyone [[spoiler: except you of course and the guy you decide to confide in]] sees Nathaniel [[spoiler: come to school with a black eye]] but fail to make the connection between that, his long absence, and the fact that his parents show up to talk with the principal.

* ShipTease: Lucy and Armin. Although WordofGod has said that every romantic rival is a HopelessSuitor, it has to be said that Lucy is the only romantic rival who has had genuine, positive interaction with one of the guys that COULD be interpreted as romantic. And it doesn't help that just a few episodes later, Armin brings her up again and hopes that she'll be at the play (and he's the only guy to do so).
** Armin later has one with [[spoiler: Amber]] in episode 39, if you're not on his route. [[spoiler: They make out in the locker room during the dance.]] It's not clear if anything will come of it, as the above WordOfGod might have become outdated after the game split into routes.

* SmokingIsCool: You find out in episode 4 that Castiel smokes occasionally...and then that little fact is never brought up again until ''19 episodes later''.

Even if he still likes you he doesn't follow you around as much.
** Nina follows Lysander around and always shows up to his concerts. She is also an active member and president of the Lysander fanclub (of which she and possibly your candy is/are the only member(s)). Needless to say, if Lysander likes you then Nina...doesn't.
* StatusQuoIsGod: After everything they've been through and after helping each other out on some pretty major occasions, Nathaniel and Castiel still refuse to be friends. Candy even [[LampshadeHanging Lampshades]] this by pointing out that there can't be a Sweet Amoris High without Castiel and Nathaniel fighting.
** Even after all her character development and two arcs revolving around her [[BreakTheHaughty experiencing the consequences of spreading rumours]], Peggy still thinks it's appropriate to [[spoiler: tell everyone Melody and Mr. Faraize are having an affair]] in episode 39. * BigBrotherInstinct: Despite being the younger twin, Nathaniel tries really hard with this trope. In the beginning of HSL, he would defend her actions no matter what, even when innocent people were hurt by them. But in later episodes he would actually argue with her when she was being notably selfish and mean. In UL, they lean on each other a bit more and don't fight as often, but he still doesn't 100% agree with ALL of Amber's actions. The one consistent part of this trope however, is whenever Nathaniel finds himself in danger of any sort, he does his best to hide it from Amber to keep her from worrying.
* BigDamnHeroes: In episode 5 when Amber comes up to slap you she can be stopped by Castiel, Nathaniel, or Lysander before she even lands a blow. Happens later on when Debrah tries to slap you too but is stopped by Castiel.

* BreakingTheFourthWall: When your candy goes to tell Castiel about what she and Li saw the night before, he guesses that you found Kiki. She comments that he's an episode late.
* BreatherEpisode: After [[VerySpecialEpisode episode]] [[TearJerker 23]], episode 24, which is pretty similar to the earlier episodes in tone, is about helping each of the guys choose a pet (it's literally called "Fuzzballs!") before a return to the more dramatic way the game's plot was developing.

* ClingyJealousGirl: Nina, the middle schooler nightmare, who will follow Lysander everywhere and ''will'' get really scary if she discovers you're after him...
** Your candy herself can get a little clingy with the guy she's going after if you make the right choices.
** Amber is a platonic version of this towards Nathaniel. She does '''NOT''' tolerate your advances towards him.

* AbusiveParents: Nathaniel was physically abused by his father and emotionally neglected by his mother. Amber was adored by their father, but emotionally and later on (after HSL but before UL), possibly financially abused by their mother. The twins' treatment by their parents implicated impacted their personalities and actions in HSL, and definitely had some lasting impressions in UL.

After episode 40, the game continues into My Candy Love: University Life (UL), which, after a TimeSkip, follows the player character into her final year at college, introducing a new cast of characters which includes new and old love interests. MCLUL continues with the mature tone set by the later episodes of My Candy Love: High School Life (HSL) with more drama, sex, and struggles befitting of the now adult and independent characters. Whether the plot and characters are just as appealing as MCLHL's depends on who you talk to.

After episode 40, the game continues into My Candy Love: University Life (MCLUL), which, after a TimeSkip, follows the player character into her final year at college, introducing a new cast of characters which includes new and old love interests. MCLUL continues with the mature tone set by the later episodes of My Candy Love: High School Life (MCLHL) with more drama, sex, and struggles befitting of the now adult and independent characters. Whether the plot and characters are just as appealing as MCLHL's depends on who you talk to.

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Poor Ken (a rare male example) can be this in the beginning (depending on how the player feels about him and the things they say). But once he comes back he subverts this. Even if he does still like you he is nowhere near as clingy.
* AbusiveParents: [[spoiler: Nathaniel is beaten at home.]]
* {{Adorkable}}: Armin the videogame nerd.

* AlmostKiss: With Kentin.
* AlphaBitch: Amber, who bullies you from your first day, sometimes going as far as to take your lunch money. You get your revenge at various points.
** Castiel's ex Debrah is even worse! She manages to turn almost all of your friends against you and before that she manipulated Castiel for the sake of stardom (and it's heavily implied that's why she's back. She needs him for her career). On top of all that, she is the catalyst behind Nathaniel and Castiel's fighting.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: In episode 16 your candy makes one to Castiel if your love o' meter with him is high enough. Sadly it does not end well.
** Once the situation is over, it becomes an ignored, forgotten confession as neither Candy nor Castiel reference it again and they go back to their previous [[SlapSlapKiss dynamic]]. Even the players have all but forgotten it by now.
* AnimalEaredHeadband: There are cat ears sold in the clothing shop.
** A bunny suit [[PlayboyBunny (not that kind!)]] is given to you by Wenka in the Easter episode and a cat suit of the same kind can be won in the Christmas 2011 episode.
** Episode 18 gets you a pair of bunny ears if you run into your aunt.
** The 2016 Easter event gave out animated rabbit ears.

* AntiPoopSocking: The whole action point system and how it works.
* ArmorPiercingSlap: You can give one to Dakota in episode 19 in the fitting room scene.

* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: There are several relationships that appeared strained but are actually better than your candy first imagines. To date they are: Rosalya and Leigh, Nathanial and Amber, and Castiel and his parents.
* BeachEpisode: Episode 9
* BigBrotherInstinct: No matter what Amber does Nathaniel will always defend her (note that they are twins, but Amber is much less mature thanks to her parents' favoritism creating a SpoiledBrat.) Episode 5 is the only time he ever gets truly angry with her (so far) and doesn't immediately jump to her defense.
** In recent episodes however, this is changing a little. Nathaniel has started calling Amber a pest and you can even catch them arguing sometimes. After Nathaniel [[spoiler: moves out]] he gets decent at standing up to her and even gives her a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech if you're on his route, though he still often takes her side.

After episode 40, the game continues into My Candy Love: University Life, which, after a TimeSkip, follows the player character into her final year at college, introducing a new cast of characters. This part of the game is currently in beta.
