''Asagao Academy: Normal Boots Club'' is a UsefulNotes/RenPy-based visual novel successfully funded on Kickstarter. The game features characters based on the Website/{{YouTube}}rs who are part of [[http://www.normalboots.com Normal Boots,]] hence the name ''Asagao Academy: Normal Boots Club''. Almost all the members of Normal Boots are romanceable, with a few exceptions. There are also cameos by the members of fellow [=YouTube=] group [[http://www.hiddenblock.com Hidden Block,]] but they aren't romanceable.

* HeroesWantRedheads: Averted, Mai is not romanceable.

* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Pink Hair:]] Hana, as seen in the picture.
** Becomes a plot point - Hana's pink hair so obviously marks her out as protagonist that strange things are just expected to happen around her and she's somewhat ostracized and bullied as a result.

* ThemeTuneCameo: According to WebVideo/ProJared [[WordOfSaintPaul in his own playthrough of the game,]] one of the music tracks uses bits from his and WebVideo/JonTron's video intro themes.
** Also, a later part of the ending credits theme incorporates allusions to all of the Normal Boots crew's theme songs, save for Shane's, as Did You Know Gaming has no theme song.

* HairDecorations: Hana always wears a red bow in her hair.

* EarnYourHappyEnding: All Normal Boots routes have several different endings, depending on whether Hana was able to practice enough for the tournament and whether she is close enough to the one she's pursuing. Some routes are fairly straightforward, such as [[PeanutButterGamer PBG's]] or [[WebVideo/TheCompletionist Jirard's]] route, and some can be [[ThatOneLevel nightmarish and easy to screw up]] like Shane's or [[WebVideo/JonTron Jon's]] route. However, any route will make you ponder on decisions that are hard to make and lack a definitively correct answer.

* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: PeanutButterGamer gets referred to as PBG instead of Austin. [[spoiler:This is because in the game PBG's real name is PeanutButterGamer instead of Austin.]]

** Mai can be heard humming the AttackOnTitan theme song in one route.

* TakeAThirdOption: In Chapter 1, Paul and Jared get into an argument and ask for Hana's opinion. This is one of the few choices in the game where there are three choices instead of two, with the third choice being to take neither side. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, doing this locks out both of their routes for that playthrough.]]

* PrematurelyBald: Josh, considering the fact that the characters based on Youtubers are turned into teenagers this makes and doesn't make sense. One the other hand this shouldn't be taken seriously because it's an AffectionateParody of Japanese dating sims and on the other hand they could've given him hair because he's supposed to be a teenager.

* NoodleIncident: The practice [[SuperSmashBros Stomp Sisters]] tournament the year before. It's never fully explained, but something happened that ended in Jon almost breaking Satch's nose, Jirard twisting his ankle, and Shane almost passing out from blood loss.
