Age Matters is a webcomic by Enjelicious published on Webtoon. It follows 29-year-old Rose Choi as she tries to pick up her life after her ex-boyfriend cheated on and dumped her. In need of employment, she takes over her best friend's odd job to cook and deliver meals to a mysterious boss. This boss turns out to be the 23-year-old CEO of Lime, Daniel Yoon. She finds him too abrasive while he finds her too desperate, but they eventually learn to get along with each other... and fall for each other.

The story began on August 20, 2018, and concluded on September 7, 2021. Side stories were released from April 26 to June 14, 2022.

Age Matters contains examples of:

  • Age-Gap Romance: Between Rose Choi (29) and Daniel Yoon (23), as the title suggests. After they go public with their relationship, Daniel's peers accuse Rose of going after the young CEO for his money because she's going nowhere in life. It's also implied that Ruby Zhao (28) and Henry Pomeroy (23) get together in the end, but they face less scrutiny because their interactions are in the backdrop.
  • Alone with the Psycho: Near the end of both seasons, Rose ends up alone with Stephen, the hitman who wants to harm her to get to Daniel. She puts up a huge fight but suffers some injuries in the process.
  • Babies Ever After: Rose and Daniel have two children in the epilogue side stories.
  • Business Trip Adultery: When Jackson went on a trip, Rose followed to surprise him but found out he was cheating on her.
  • Bystander Syndrome: When Rose runs into a crowd while the hitman is chasing her, the people think she's crazy and that they should ignore her.
  • Cassandra Truth:
    • When Rose runs into the crowd trying to get away from the hitman, the bystanders think she's crazy and ignore her. When she warns Ruby that she's the target, Ruby doesn't believe her until the hitman shows up.
    • Via recognizes the hitman from the fashion show, but the guards don't believe her when she tells them. Fortunately, Dylan believes her.
  • Cell Phones Are Useless: The first time Rose gets caught by the hitman, she dropped her cell phone on the way. The second time, it dies on her.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: The speech bubble colors for Rose and Daniel's Internal Monologues are peach and blue, respectively.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Gender inverted; Daniel starts off as cold, demanding, and critical of Rose but warms up to her as they get to know more about each other.
  • Double-Meaning Title: Indicates the Age-Gap Romance and the problems the leads face in life due to their age (matters of age).
  • Get a Room!: When Rose and Daniel are about to make out on the streets, believing nobody is watching, a passerby tells them to get a room.
  • Hair Color Dissonance: Rose's hair is stated to be dark green but can be seen as black.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Dylan encourages Daniel to make a move on Rose despite having feelings for her. Later on, Jackson turns himself in for his crimes because he wishes for Rose to be happy.
  • Likes Older Women: Daniel and Dylan both like Rose, who is almost seven years older than them. There is a bit of a concern for the age gap, but some characters see it as a trend. Ruby is also said to be Daniel's "first love", though she's his cousin.
  • Look Behind You: While Rose is Alone with the Psycho, she tells him to look behind himself. He doesn't buy it, but she throws her heels at him while he's mocking her for using such a lame trick.
  • Love Dodecahedron: Rose and Daniel are the main couple of the story. Jackson is Rose's ex-boyfriend but still harbors feelings for her. Dylan has feelings for both Rose and Via, while Via pursues Daniel.
  • Meet the In-Laws: Daniel takes Rose to meet his grandfather after they become official. The grandfather accuses Rose of being a Gold Digger, but Rose takes on the challenge of proving her worth.
  • Milestone Birthday Angst: Rose is unhappy that she's pushing thirty with no job and a broken engagement when other people in their early twenties are more successful.
  • No Escape but Down: When Stephen tries to hold Rose hostage to stop Daniel and Jackson from getting closer, Rose jumps off the balcony into the pool below.
  • Not with Them for the Money: Though Rose repeatedly gets accused of being a Gold Digger, she really loves Daniel for who he is, having spent a long time getting to know him.
  • Offscreen Breakup: Yura goes on a trip with her boyfriend Gun, leaving Rose behind to work her odd job as Daniel Yoon's caterer. She returns alone in the second season, having been dumped.
  • Old Friend, New Gender: In the final spin-off episode, Roan comes across a girl who seems immune to all his attempts to ward him off. She shows up at the family reunion, and he realizes she's Skye (Dylan's younger brother).
  • Sexy Backless Outfit: Rose wears a backless dress for her gig as a model at the fashion show and stands out. Daniel is concerned that her back is exposed to the world.
  • Shoe Slap: Rose tosses her high heels at the hitman to give herself just enough time to get out of the room. Once the ordeal is over, she freaks out and apologizes to Daniel for losing the shoes.
  • "Take That!" Kiss: Via and Rose get into a slap fight, and Via dares Rose to make good on her threat to beat her up in front of the guys. Rose responds by kissing Via, much to everyone's surprise.
  • Targeted to Hurt the Hero: Stephen is hired to go after Daniel, but he was told to target Ruby to torment Daniel. He knows Rose is Daniel's real weakness, so he attacks her first. He's quite ecstatic when chasing Rose also leads him to Ruby, and he brags to Daniel about killing two birds in one stone.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Ruby is a reasonably tall woman, while Pommie is the shortest man in the story.
  • Wacky Marriage Proposal: As Rose is taking a train to run away from Daniel for good, her mom and brother push her out while Daniel rides a helicopter down to her.
