** It got to the point where Etheru retconned the ability out of Bass because of annoyance with the gag.
* BrickJoke: At one point, Bass told [[Franchise/{{Disgaea}} Asagi]] that she was in a dating sim. A hundred pages later, she still hasn't exactly been told otherwise.
** In a more recent adventure, the gang has landed at a refueling station that's nothing more than a truck stop [[RecycledInSpace in space]]. Almost immediately, newcomer Tropers/PilotSolaris, his friend Human, and Grey enter a bar. Pilot's first action is to drink a shot of whiskey, and Human orders a coca-cola. Several hours (and several pages) later, Pilot returns to the bar, and Human is gone--and a pile of empty coca-cola cans is sitting next to his now-vacant seat. We don't see Human ''again'' until the next day, when he's seen ''leaving the bar and making a note to never go on a coca-cola binge again.''

** For the latter, this was lightly [[DeconstructedTrope deconstructed]] when [[Series/PowerRangersLightspeedRescue Carter]] left Jennifer to save Martin, leaving the new girl confused. He then promises to tone down his tendency to save people's lives...which ultimately did happen during the ''Skyrim'' arc.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome[=/=]DroppedABridgeOnHim: All of Tropers/{{Midna}}'s characters, due to his banning from the TV Tropes fora. However, it was retconned so that they went back to their worlds.
** A more traditional example of DroppedABridgeOnHim would be Mammon and Guilty, via BusCrash. WordOfGod states that it was meant to be a HeroicSacrifice of the two, but he was no longer playing, so it happened offscreen, making the BusCrash more appropriate.
* ClownCarBase - The Phase Distorter, which on several occasions has actually been compared to the [[Series/DoctorWho TARDIS.]]

* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Dai!Daisuke is practically infamous for it.

* CoolSword: Joshua Strasin's warblade, a valgirai weapon that absorbs UV radiation and then upon activation goes all [[BuffySpeak lightsaber-y]].

* CrapsaccharineWorld: The world future Tails lives in is seemingly an amazing place, and Tails has the fortune of being the president of a non-corrupt MegaCorp. However, the corporations that ''are'' corrupt are far too numerous, the Earth has been in a war between [[Literature/NineteenEightyFour Oceania]] and [[VideoGame/DestroyAllHumans the Furon Empire]] over who gets to enslave the populace, and Tails' position causes him to be a frequent assasination target, losing an eye and an arm on two seperate attempts.

Aside from being kinder than him, he was appalled by the existence of the latter character, [[HeroicBSOD staying in his room for days.]] He even told Michael Grayson that he prefers taking ''an acid bath'' than being locked in a room with reboot!Dante for a day.

** [[VideoGame/PokemonBlack2White2 Roxie's]] Pokémon are named after members of the Music/{{Ramones}}.
* ThereAreNoTherapists - Averted for the most part; the group does get therapy from each other. Shockingly, though, since Tails left, the group's therapist is ''[[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Bass]]''.
** Terri tried to take on this role towards the Graysons for a while.
*** Catherine eventually [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] by saying that all of her problems and [[IdiotBall bad decisions]] would baffle any therapist, hence why it never sticks for her and her family.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Once again, Pilot Solaris' TX-85 Heavy Assault Battle Walker. Here's the full armament: [[MacrossMissileMassacre 50 missile silos capable of firing 50 STS rounds at 500 rounds a minute]], [[MoreDakka four heavy artillery mortar guns capable of firing 150mm rounds at 100 rounds a minute (and the standard issue chaingun capable of firing explosive-tipped 50mm rounds at 10,000 rounds a minute)]], [[BeamSpam two personal onboard beam cannon arrays]], and [[FrickinLaserBeams three "flash" laser cannons capable of firing once every five seconds with onboard]] [[FunWithAcronyms HELP (Hi-Energy, Low Power)]] power regulation system, as well as an [[KillItWithFire optional napalm flamethrower with four 50,000 liter tanks of napalm ready to be used at will]]. * TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Starling delivers one to Nivel-X during the climactic battle again in the Disgaea/Monster Hunter mashup world. It affected Nivel-X's mental state to the point where it caused Nivel-X's head to explode. Granted, Nivel-X grew another head, but that did a lot of damage.
* ThoseTwoGuys: In order of appearence, Cain and Jurgen, Matice and Toyagumon, Rex and Weevil, Blanc and Rouge (the Rose Knights).
* TinTyrant: Caesar in PoweredArmor.
* TokenEvilTeammate - A few players have attempted to create these; they usually fail miserably.

* UnfazedEveryman: A common archetype assumed by characters who are unfamiliar with the technology, magic or seetings used in the game, as well as new characters who have just joined the group. Often used as a means to explain to the unfamiliar what is happening in the game. Out of context, newer players also assume such a role when they find their way around the game.

* VerbalTic: As mentioned above, some catgirls use Nya and variations.

* TheVirus - The ''Computer'' Virus, to be exact. In the past, it's infected many of the robotic characters.
* VisualPun - Kari's new appearance gave her glasses. She was established as being a little too loyal to Luminosity, making her [[RuleOfSymbolism blind to the truth]].

* WackyRacing - At least one story arc was centered around this.
* WhamEpisode - Page 1726-1729 when [[spoiler:Flandre]] died. Oh, and then just a little while later on pages 1795-1800 when [[spoiler:Bit]] died.
* WeirdnessMagnet - It doesn't matter how peaceful, quiet, and isolated the place is. Once the group comes in, the weirdness level ''skyrockets''.

* WhatDoTheyFearEpisode: Pretty much every Scarecrow appearance.
** Once in a while, some characters talk about their fears.
* WhatTheHellHero - Everyone, after Osaka accidentally shot Irene in the foot (with a ''very'' powerful gun, to boot).

* TheWorfEffect - Duo. He's pointed out that he's incredibly powerful at times, but he has the uncanny tendency to [[RunningGag get blown apart]].
* WriterOnBoard - One example would be [[Series/PowerRangersInSpace Andros]] telling the group how the Touhoumons aren't cute, want to take over the world, etc. all because arcadiarika didn't like them (at first). And then there were the times where the Graysons were used to voice the writer's negative feelings.

** Midna used his characters to voice opinions about Mana, among others. This is partially why he's considered a bad roleplayer.

** This sometimes happens with Daionusthe23rd. He's gotten better about it, though.

* WorthlessTreasureTwist: Upon finding the treasure chests on the [[Manga/OnePiece Island of Rare Animals]], [[VideoGame/BioShockInfinite Bioshock!Elizabeth]] opens the chests with a lockpick and turns it they were empty. Gaimon was relieved as he couldn't spend the money on anything because he would abandon his friends.

** Tsubaki [[StealthPun Ya]][[AccidentalPun yoi]] gets a nosebleed after seeing a doujinshi of Rai and Konoe. She even thinks it's "hot".
* YourWorstNightmare - Rockurtle was afflicted with this about as soon as she was introduced.
* ZeroGSpot - Used as a way to convince Black Baron into giving up his piece of the device.
