!!Attack of the 50-Foot Eyesores

Homer stops by Lard Lad Donuts, hoping to get a colossal donut the size of the one in the statue of the chain's mascot, Lard Lad. When he's disappointed with a normal-sized donut, Homer steals the mascot's donut during a freak thunderstorm. Lightning strikes Lard Lad, who becomes the first of several advertising mascots to come to life that night.

Soon, Springfield is overrun with giant corporate shills, smashing and crushing their way through the city. Homer attempts to make peace by giving Lard Lad his donut back, but they all just continue their destruction. Lisa decides to track down the ad agency responsible for creating the mascots.

The head of the agency tells Lisa that the less people pay attention to advertising, the more likely it will just go away. With the help of guest star Paul Anka, they compose a catchy jingle to draw people's attention away from the monsters, who freeze back in place, defeated.

The segment ends with Kent Brockman warning viewers that advertising could be lurking around any corner, and the next ad you see could kill you and your family...[[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou right after this commercial break.]]

!!Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace

Bart wakes up from a nightmare where Groundskeeper Willie scratches him with a rake...only to discover a set of rake scratches on his chest. At school that day, Bart discovers that several other kids have had similar dreams. The kids also note that Willie disappeared mysteriously a while back.

In class that day, Martin falls asleep in class, and dies during a nightmare where Willie strangles him. When Bart and Lisa tell their parents about the incident, Marge admits the cover-up behind Willie's disappearance. During a parents' meeting "on the 13th hour of the 13th day of the 13th month" (they were discussing the school's misprinted calendars), Homer set the thermostat too high, resulting in the boiler bursting into flames and setting Willie on fire. The parents and Principal Skinner refused to help him, due to them being too busy with the meeting. With his last breath, Willie vows revenge against the children of the school by killing them in their dreams.

Realizing that they could die the next time they fall asleep, Bart, Lisa and Maggie attempt to stay awake that night. The kids can't stay awake forever, though, so Bart decides to confront Willie in a final showdown in his dreams, asking Lisa to wake him up if anything goes wrong. In his dream, Bart traps Willie in a quicksand-sandbox. Just when it looks like the groundskeeper is defeated for good, Willie rises from the sandbox as a giant bagpipe spider monster who grabs Bart and attempts to pull him into the quicksand. Lisa, having accidentally fallen asleep, attempts to help Bart, but gets grabbed as well. Both kids are saved by Maggie, who shows up to plug up Willie's bagpipe body with her pacifier. Willie explodes, the kids wake up, and everything is back to normal. Lisa, however, is convinced that Willie will come back for revenge...[[spoiler: and he does, but he's not much of a threat anymore.]]

!!Homer 3

Patty and Selma are coming to visit, so Homer tries to hide. With the usual spots taken by the kids and the pets, Homer goes behind the bookcase. While there, he discovers he can phase through the wall behind the case, and he runs through it, ending up in a strange new dimension...the ''third'' dimension.

Homer's cries of confusion are heard by the family, who try to figure out where he is with the help of their friends and neighbors. Meanwhile, Homer, being Homer, accidentally causes the dimension to slowly collapse in on itself. Bart rushes into the dimension to try to rescue Homer, but he arrives too late, and Homer is caught in the implosion. Bart is pulled back into his own dimension, and tells everyone that Homer was sucked into the collapsing universe. As Reverend Lovejoy assures Marge that Homer's in a "better place", Homer falls into another strange new dimension...the real world, where he's initially freaked out over how everyone doesn't look like him, but finds comfort in a nearby erotic cake shop.
