This trope is the reason why CompensatingForSomething is, by its very nature, an insult: everybody knows that a ''real'' man has a big penis (or at the very least, an average one). A heroic character, when his penis is mentioned (which isn't all that often, except by [[DoubleEntendre innuendo]]), will usually have a big one. Consequently, this is also the reason why villainous or [[StrawLoser loser]] characters are portrayed as having a [[TeenyWeenie small penis]], or a small [[PhallicWeapon something else meant to represent a penis]]. It's a deficiency that makes them bad people, or at least not cool like the heroes are, and may be [[FreudianExcuse a key to their underlying motivation.]] By further extension, GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex, to some degree ''because'' they're usually well-endowed. Expect many authors to give us the exact dimensions of this uberpenis, conjuring the mental image of a [=PoV=]-character either breaking out a measuring tape at a romantically inappropriate moment or somehow possessing their own finely-calibrated genitals.

* ''Literature/CaptivePrince'': When Laurent sees the TallDarkAndHandsome Damen naked, he's taken aback and says "I see you are everywhere in proportion." And because GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex, Damen's sexual prowess is shown and established several times in the story.

* Roberto from ''Anime/{{Monster}}''. If we are to believe the obese prostitute with whom he was having sex.

* Randel Oland from ''Anime/PumpkinScissors'' is implied to sport his very own biggus dickus thanks to his many hospital visits and a persistent nurse who just wants a urine sample from him. It kind of becomes an obsession for her and a horror for Randel himself.

* ''Literature/TheGoldenAss'' has two notable examples: first [[InvokedTrope invoked case]] is the period when Lucius, [[BalefulPolymorph transformed into a donkey by witchcraft]], is serving a gang of [[CampGay extremely effeminate acolytes]] of the Goddess Syria/Cybele: one evening they invite to dinner a handsome boy who's described as being well endowed, and as soon as they're done with the appetizers they have pushed the boy in the middle of the room and dogpiled him for oral sex, much to Lucius' disgust (plenty of ValuesDissonance on how Romans had little respect for passive homosexual adults and how in the classic world a large penis was considered gross). Much later in the story a noblewoman becomes [[BestialityIsDepraved enamored with Lucius]] and pays a hefty sum to spend the night with him as if he was a human paramour. Lucius himself fears that his huge phallus could hurt her and is surprised to see that she shows no discomfort.

* ''Series/MyLeftNut'': When the rumor spreads around the school that Mick's bulge in his pants is due to him being incredibly well endowed ((the actual reason is his left testicle is swollen)), he gets the attention of several female students who keep sneaking glances at his crotch. His friends Conor and Tommy also call him a "legend" for it and are both excited at the prospect of having a friend with a huge dick.

Unsurprisingly, most writers don't really think through the RealLife [[BigPrickBigProblems implications of a twelve-inch penis]] -- for more detail, please refer to that page.

* Played seriously in Harlan Ellison's short story "Literature/IHaveNoMouthAndIMustScream", in which one of the main characters, Benny (a formerly gay and very handsome scientist), is transformed by AM into an apelike creature with horse-like genitalia. This may be ValuesDissonance and/or UnfortunateImplications in action, as gay men can be as fond of this trope as straights (see, for example, the work of Tom of Finland); Ellison implies that AM made Benny ugly and partially retarded ''because'' he was handsome and smart, and that making him over-endowed was to make him appealing to the one woman trapped in AM.

* ''Fanfic/ACrownOfStars'': Played straight. According to Asuka, Shinji's penis is nearly twice larger than BigBad's and former BigBad's. Moreover, the latter two abused her sexually, were pretty lousy in bed, and made her feel dirty, whereas Shinji made her feel good, happy, and special.

* Occurs in the Literature/WhateleyUniverse to many male Examplars, to the point that an in-universe sex manual about PowerPerversionPotential specifically warns about the danger of hurting one's partners through the sheer size of one's organ.
** the character Phase's body was changed by his mutation to appear female, but his genitalia did not change, and in fact got BIGGER.
** Chad/Merry/Paige/Petra suffers from this, except that s/he has [[{{Hermaphrodite}} both sets of equipment]].
** In the Gen 2 stories, Nick Brennan, Jr., a second-generation [[BeastMan Horse Ani-Man]] who is also a mutant, gets some immediate attention the first time he visits the pool, in particular from one of the members in Venus, Inc. (the school's modeling club). She was so impressed by his equine proportions (even through a swimsuit) that she immediately lures him into a rendezvous. Apparently, she was quite please with the outcome, as the first thing she did after they parted was to post a glowing review of him on a hidden 'girls only' page of the school intranet.
* This trope causes much pain to ''WebOriginal/ProtectorsOfThePlotContinuum''. See the FanFic section for a couple of examples of what they've had to combat.
* Occasionally pops up in ''Literature/ChakonaSpace'', part of Garrek's popularity with vixens is suggested to be his "endowment". Leanna, being a genetically engineered (former) sex slave, is pretty large as well, no specifics but the only reason [[{{Hermaphrodite}} shi]] can look like a female is that hir penis is designed to retract into her pelvis. And speaking of genetically engineered sex slaves...
* Sites like ''Website/{{Literotica}}'' have a real problem with writers submitting stories where men have bizarrely proportioned genitals. Like a penis ten inches long and eight inches wide.
* In an alternate reality where WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic was never born, WebVideo/TheCinemaSnob instead became the world's greatest male porn star. Apparently all of the Nostalgia Critic's mass went into the...uh...(not-so-)Little Snob? Add this to his [[ArousedByTheirVoice voice, which spontaneously causes women to have orgasms]], and it's no wonder how he got his acclaim.

* Combined with CompensatingForSomething here in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV9Uu2T0q0E this]] Website/CollegeHumor video, where three women are disgusted by a guy in a fancy sports car, [[TeenyWeenie because he has a small penis]], but are aroused by the appearance of a guy in a very banged up car, thinking that the more banged-up the car, the bigger the guy's dick is.
* In ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged'', when Android 18 comes to give Krillin the GladToBeAliveSex she promised him, and sees his GagPenis (they don't specify the size, but it did give a nice thump when he took it out), she ''immediately'' demands he get on the bed. The resultant DestructoNookie ''destroys'' the Krillin Owned Count, and it's hinted they went at it ''39'' times. (It should probably be noted that as a cyborg, 18 could probably handle it better than a normal human.)

* ''WesternAnimation/DownTown'': In one episode, Jen regales a sleep-deprived Alex with a story about her ReallyGetsAround roommate Leah, including an ancedote about the various sizes of her lovers, who she insisted on telling Jen about. One guy was apparently so big he had to special order is condoms, while another [[TeenyWeenie was about the size of an unscrewed lipstick]].
* ''WesternAnimation/BigMouth'': Since the show parodies real life attitudes towards sex, most of the characters believe this trope, with much TeenyWeenie angst abound, while the show itself has the message that sexual compatibility and chemistry is more important. None of the sexually active characters are implied to be bigger than average, and one relationship outright averts it; Nick's mother Diane mentions having dated some very well-endowed men before she met Elliot, and it was more uncomfortable than enjoyable. Despite being fairly small, Elliot was a much better match for her. The only characters shown to have a GagPenis are the Gogurt Burglar (who's around 14), and Santa Claus (in what was probably a non-canon episode).

* DownplayedTrope in the ''Literature/KamaSutra''. Men are divided up into 3 categories by penis size: "hare", "bull", or "stallion". However, the same is done for women: "doe", "mare", or "elephant". The question then is not about the ''absolute'' size of a man, but his ''relative'' size compared to his partner. An ideal union is said to be between partners of equal size. 1 degree of size difference is considered workable, and--in such cases--is is ''then'' that it says the man being slightly larger is preferable to the woman being slightly larger. 2 degrees of size difference is considered the worst.

* Averted in Jacqueline Carey's [[Literature/KushielsLegacy Kushiel's Legacy]] series. Despite all the sex scenes, the actual size of penises is never commented upon, nor is it implied that good lovers have bigger ones or less-masculine men are less endowed. Possibly, what with all the sex they have and the openness with which they go about it, D'Angelines know this trope is a myth; this is also a universe where a knockoff of the Kama Sutra is considered a sacred text, so learning various methods of pleasing a partner is normal.

* ''Film/SaveTheDate'': Sarah happily says that Jonathan has a very big penis after the pair have had sex.

* Averted in Jacqueline Carey's [[Literature/KushielsLegacy Kushiel's Legacy]] series. Despite all the sex scenes, the actual size of penises is never commented upon, nor is it implied that good lovers have bigger ones or less-masculine men are less endowed. * In one of Pu Songling's fairy tales, the protagonist is too well endowed for any (human) woman to handle safely. So then a {{Kitsune}} tries to seduce him, he is overjoyed. Alas, he proves too big even for the shapeshifting fox, and the narrator quips about how chasing away werefoxes [[WhoYouGonnaCall could become his profession]].

** In "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS11E8JesusMaryAndJoseph Jesus, Mary and Joseph!]]", Peter tells the story of the First Christmas and the Birth of Jesus, with him as Joseph and Lois as Mary. Upon finding out that Mary is pregnant with the Son of God, Joseph is honored, but has one important question... as God bigger than him? Mary tells him she felt nothing. Joseph is immediately mollified.

* Averted in ''Koibana Onsen'', Shuuhei's large penis makes it even harder for him to get intimate with his girlfriend who has anxiety problems.
* Not only is ''Manga/{{Oyaji}}'s'' member crazy huge, the author somehow tried to make the thing be as badass as Oyaji himself, by managing to make Oyaji’s wife Taeko confirm [[spoiler:she can have children after all, she lived her whole life till then believing she was infertile]].

* Subverted in ''Manga/InterspeciesReviewers'', Stunk and Zel try to settle an argument on whether girls really like big dicks by going to a fairy brothel, where it turns out they measure you to determine which of their girls can safely have sex, after payment. Stunk is restricted to the two [[BigBeautifulWoman largest]] fairies, while [[GagPenis Crim]] is rejected outright.
* ''Manga/GTOTheEarlyYears'' has Abe, the resident {{Pornomancer}} who is confirmed in at least two different chapters to be well-endowed.

* Several characters in the Italian porn series ''Ramba''. Deconstructed; it is shown as being painful to the women involved and is sometimes used to deliberately torture them.

* ''ComicBook/GoldDigger'': While it's never shown on-screen (other than the Hentai side-comics made by the same author), Prince Stryyp "Stripe" 'Gia definitely has this, as part of his overall representation as TheAce. He gets a few DistractedByTheSexy moments from women and a ''very'' active sex life with his wife as a result.

* ''VideoGame/SidMeiersAlphaCentauri'':
** The quote for one of the technologies has Nwabudike Morgan saying "Gentlemen, forget what your courtesans have told you: size does matter!"
** Also in a [[BawdySong Dirty Limerick]] at Sparta Command;
---> A handsome young Cyborg named Ace, / Wooed women at every base, / But once ladies glanced at / His special enhancement / They vanished with nary a trace.
* In ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'', although Rin actually freaks out when she sees Shirou naked, she was a virgin and ''extremely'' nervous (so was Shirou, for that matter); Saber and Sakura are admiring, but not shocked. [[VisualNovel/{{Tsukihime}} Shiki]], on the other hand, managed to impress even the relatively experienced Kohaku.

* In the ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' episode "[[Recap/SouthParkS15E4TMI T.M.I.]]", the Colorado Surgeon General and Randy Marsh both propose equations for "adjusted penis length", with bigger being better. The trope is twisted a bit, since in both normal measurements and the "adjusted" ones, supposedly wimpy (a fan would say 'sensitive') characters like Butters get top results, suggesting that they're really good in bed.

* ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'': The Parks Department's resident ButtMonkey Jerry is stated to have one, according to the recurring character [[DrJerk Dr. Harris]], who even proclaims Jerry's member is the biggest he's ever seen in all his years of practicing. It can certainly explain how he got his [[UglyGuyHotWife stunningly gorgeous wife Gayle]] (who is played by Christie Brinkley). While personality really does go a long way (Jerry is a very kindhearted, wholesome and sweet man with no mean bone in his body), one gets the sense that Jerry's... blessing... also helps (and apparently he [[IWasQuiteALooker was much more handsome in his younger days]]).

* Mikey Saber in ''Film/RedRocket'' is a former porn star noted for the size of his penis.[[note]]which is maintained with Viagra[[/note]]

** In "[[Recap/FamilyGuy7E8FamilyGay Family Gay]]", after Peter is temporarily turned CampGay as a result of volunteering for a medical experiment, he helps Chris with his math homework by using a very inappropriate story about glory hole rotations in a gay club as an example. Part of the equation is a guy named Trent who's apparently so well-endowed he can't fit in the holes.

* Richard of ''Webcomic/{{SSDD}}'' was apparently named "Dick" for a very good reason; even Norman feels inadequate by comparison and he's heavily implied to be {{asexual}}! But then his girlfriend has an affair with a more modestly endowed guy because, to quote, "girls aren't hollow".
