A Date With Rosie Palms is no longer a trope

* So what do Shinobu, Kimmy, and Sylvia actually see in Travis? The guy swallowed his own gargle water, never appears to wipe, nor wash his hands. Plus, he decided to [[spoiler: [[ADateWithRosiePalms take Rosie on a date]] with his brother was in the other room that lacked a door. Speaking of which, why was Henry shirtless when he woke up but earlier had a shirt on after the Letz Shake?]]

** Do they ever explain why [[spoiler: Dark Star knows all this stuff about Travis?]]
*** Personally, it seemed as though Dark Star was genuinely mistaken about [[spoiler:Travis being his son]], and was nebulously referring to past events in some other twenty-something loser's life.

** Reviewing the dialogue, the only thing that really suggests Dark Star isn't Travis's father is Jeanne saying he's not. Otherwise the details line up perfectly. Dark Star's comments about "the night everything changed" for Travis successfully manage to make Travis remember Jeanne. Dark Star talks about how "he fell before his son" and even before Travis says who it is that he remembered standing above his parents, Dark Star says "she was the girl you loved". Jeanne even kills him by punching him through the groin as some kind of symbolic revenge. The facts and actions of the characters line up without contradiction if Dark Star is Travis and Jeanne's father who some how survived Jeanne's attack on him...only the game explicitly says that's not the case. So either Dark Star was some paid actor Sylvia set up to be killed (Jeanne did say Sylvia was responsible for their reunion), or Dark Star, by shear coincidence, was once almost killed by a girl in front of his son on a warm summer's day. Either that or he's just fucking with Travis and somehow successfully managed to guess the person Travis remembered was a girl (a girl Travis knew in some capacity and was fond of if he named his cat after her? Unless Jeanne Cat and Jeanne Assassin also have the same name as another huge coincidence). Really the whole thing doesn't make sense, and I'm not sure it's even meant to. Still doesn't stop me liking it.

* Did Henry know about [[spoiler:Jeane (the person)]]? If so, why doesn't he seem to harbor any animosity towards [[spoiler:her]] like Travis does? Those were ''his'' parents too, after all.
* Where had Henry been all this time for 1) his own brother to not know he even exists, and 2) for him to apparently have grown up in a completely different part of the world (at least judging by his accent)? Was he given up as a child?

*** Funnily enough, this troper has and prefers the European/Japanese version, since not all of us like ridiculous amounts of violence. Having corpses turn to piles of ash makes the cutscenes rather {{Narm}}ful... which probably doubles as another take on satirizing violence and censorship! Maybe. Half the problem with Suda51 is that you have no idea what's intentional and what's not... which he probably loves.

*** Maybe it's just the writer not having perspective, but I'd be surprised if Suda51 didn't slip some jabs at Japanese culture into there as well. The SeriousBusiness weirdness surrounding each day job almost comes off as a parody of what I hear of the stereotypical Japanese work ethic. And it's kind of interesting that some people enjoy the minigames- Suda51 might just be getting the hang of making a game that is fun to play as well as sending a message...

** That's probably a slight cultural slip-up on Suda51's part. A fax machine in the USA (or pretty much any Western nation) is a rare sight, but Japanese use faxes almost constantly.

* Note that I have mostly secondhand knowledge, but people say that this is a satire of the "gamer". Only that doesn't make much sense, to me. Satire's intent is to condemn, but Travis Touchdown ([[StealthPun "Travis T."]]) manages to become the ''best assassin in the United States'' via an ''eBay beam sword'' and sheer willpower. In the end of [[NoMoreHeroes NMH1]], doesn't he [[spoiler: get the girl?]]. He's never really shown to fail in anything he sets out to do, as far as I know. I could buy AffectionateParody or caricature, but the games seem far too sympathetic and condoning of him for them to be actual satire.

**** I think it's more that the UAA [[spoiler:isn't as important as it makes itself sound. Sylvia portrays herself like Travis' personal "manager", when really she's the mastermind. The ranks of assassins probably aren't really ranking who the best in the world are, it's just whoever Sylvia manged to sucker into it. So it's a real ranking system, but an ultimately meaningless one set up by one girl for the purpose of money and power.]]

i know that this is a page with more discussion than a main page, but adding your personal opinions on an article that don\'t contribute to the discussion.... well, i just don\'t think that has a place here.

**** That article is massively pretentious. Even if right about no more heroes, it is massively pretentious.

* Doesn't really have anything to do with the games, but why did they split the original NMH and Desperate Struggle into two separate TVTropes articles?
** Probably because both games are big enough to do that. Having both games in folders on one page has worked for other series, but this way probably works just as well. Besides, both games are different enough to probably warrant an individual page for each.

* So about that "Forbidden View" mode in the PS3 version of the sequel. Why oh why {{Suda51}}, can't [[EstrogenBrigadeBait Travis]] be in it as well? NoMoreHeroes, VideoGame/LollipopChainsaw, full of fanservicey ladies...why can't we even the playing field?

* This may come off as fan whining, but why didn't the rerelease of No More Heroes come to the wii as well? It would have been easy to modify the existing game and sell it for cheap. I guess I'm just bitter that every great third party game for the wii seems to get a better release on other systems.
** "Better" is subjective. I would say the main reason why it didn't come to the Wii was because of the high definition graphical enhancement that would have been impossible on the Wii. Then again, Heroes' Paradise has been shown to screen tear and drop in frame rate more frequently than the Wii original, and in my experience, the Wii game just feels faster in terms of being able to immediately kill an opponent when entering death blow mode (HP adds a bit of a delay). Still, it does look nicer and have the ability to select bosses to fight whenever you want, but in the end, it feels like there's not much that has changed between versions. So pick your poison, really.

** Up until that fight, a lot of advanced technology has been seen. Speed Buster's Rooster Nuclear Laser Cannon, Destoryman's Voice Converter weapon and hell even the Blood Berry. So it isn't entirely in-plausible that the techno would be around. As to answer your question more directly, it doesn't seem like Bad Girl would go out regularly to find men to kidnap and use as her gimps.
