However, the Huntsman, being one of the only people to have survived entering the Dark Forest before, has learned that while it ''is'' treacherous and filled with dangerous creatures, the ''real'' danger is that it is full of hallucinogenic spores. Combined with the superstitions of the average person of the time, a person wandering the Dark Forest perceives it as much more hellish.
