Ravvas' personal assistant and "minder". She is the voice of sanity in his dark operations, and is, while as skeevy as he is, much more goal oriented and less easily flustered. She mainly works to mind her boss' temperament and ego, and at the same time, speaks inwardly of dealing with his problems [[TryToCatchMeFightingDirty her own way.]]

** However, he has now used a rather unusual effect on the duel, and is shown to be scheming against the heroes from the position as Organizer.

* Fiction500: Basically owns the existing Island of Capri, having purchased the island from Italy.

* [[AbusiveParents Abusive Uncles]] [[ParentsAsPeople As People]]: Denero's grandfather. No matter ''how'' well-intentioned it might be, telling a young child that his only parents are horrible people is NOT good for his mental health.

* BerserkButton: Breaking the law and anything to do with his parents. Though in both cases it's more of a ''TranquilFury Button''.

* EyepatchOfPower: Wears a wraparound cloth varient to cover The Meteor's eye after they've merged together.

* GollumMadeMeDoIt: The relationship between Denero and Jurrac Meteor, with one being timed and unsure, and the other being aggressive and angry.

* HeadbuttingHeroes: He absolutely ''hates'' Marcus. Even after [[RivalsTeamUp they teamed up]], he was still happy at the thought of Marcus getting killed.
** This has lessened ''SIGNIFICANTLY'' after his HeelRealization

* HiddenDepths: His family history and his abject [[KnightTemplar HATRED]] of law-breakers.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Considers Marcus to be an iredeemable criminal for killing an enemy cultist, yet is perfectly willing to leave him to die.
* IgnoredEpiphany: Several times the other characters call him out on his bullshit, only to be brushed aside. It takes an Apophis-Created-Meteor to [[TheReasonsYouSuckSpeech finally spell it out for him]].
* I’mNotAHeroIm: Constantly denies being a hero.

* KickTheDog: Willing leaves Marcus to (likely) die. Naturally, this ''really'' pissed of Jacques.
** KickThemWhileTheyreDown: Callously insults Marcus after knowing that the latter had just been ''tortured.''

* ItsAllAboutMe: Denero has, as part of his levels in jerkass, become incredibly arrogant, and pushes his opinions and demands on others in exchange for aid.
* TheOtherDarrin: After a several month hiatus Denero's original player gave control of him to a new player. So far the change hasn't really effected the characters in the story or the other players so this trope might just be {{Averted}}.

* TheRival: Seems to have taken a strong disliking towards Marcus. The fact that his parents once stole from Marcus's company doesn't help matters.
* TookALevelInJerkass: After the duel with the cultists, he has become a lot more aggressive and uncaring towards his fellow duellists. Likely due to him merging with the other Duel Spirits.

* DarkIsEvil: He uses an Umbral Horror deck during the tournament deck, rather than his Spellcaster deck.

* [[DarkIsEvil Dark Is Extremely Morally Ambiguous and Really Freaking Confusing At This Point]]: He uses an Umbral Horror deck during the tournament deck, rather than his spellcaster deck.

* DarkIsNotEvil: His entire deck are dark monsters but he still tries to be nice and friendly. This becomes the main point of his {{World Of Cardboard Speech}} to Skull Knight.

* FatalFlaw: His tendancy to devalue his own worth. Freed points out just how dangerous this outlook can be.

** Which makes it even more noticable that Apophis is the first enemy to completely ‘’SHATTER’’ this demeanour. (Even against [[CompleteMonster Haine]], Sigmund was able to project a friendly attitude.

* GuileHero: As shown during the duel against Skull Knight. He’s suprisingly deceptive when he needs to be.

* BerserkButton: Do not hurt his friends.

* TheIdealist: And it pays off. With him standing firm against all of Skull Knight’s StrawNihilist rants.

* NoSense Of Humor: Downplayed. He does have a sense of humour, but sometimes he tends to go off on tangents and miss an obvious joke. Case in point: “Uranus”.

* Vitriolic best Buds: While not as strong as some other examples, he and Freed do still have the occasional “[[LikeAnOldMarriedCouple Lover’s Quarrel]]”

* CryForTheDevil: Sigmund expresses genuine sympathy for Skull Knight when he realises the latter was [[spoiler: [[TragicVillain possessed and forced to be a monster.]]]]

* TheRival: Seems to have taken a strong disliking towards Marcus. [[spoiler: The fact that his parents once stole from Marcus's company doesn't help matters.]]

* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Marcus seems to operate primarily on this. He's friendly and polite, but is genuinely unable to understand why [[spoiler: mind raping and executing an enemy would be considered a bad thing]]. Somewhat understandable when you consider that the only companion he's ever had is a StarfishAlien literally designed for war.

* ObfuscatingStupidity: This is essentially Marcus's signature tactic. By feigning incomptetence, he is able to gain an advantage over his opponentwithout the opponent ever realising the danger they're in until it's too late. Shown best in his CurbstompBattle against [[spoiler: Denero's father]]. Ironically, that particular duel also {{Deconstructed}} this trope, as his own partner began to lose faith in his ablilities. A student at the Academy who always wears sunglasses, has spiky hair, and is possibly one of the only normal guys in the cast. He seems to have a thing for Crystal. [[spoiler: However, recently, David has shown a slightly darker and more Badass side to his personality. He curbstomped Denero into dust, completely turned his appearance around, and he appears to have a few more internalized...problems...than we thought. He claims to be an "Apophis Guardian", and was the one who told Avrum about the threat posed by Apophis. Even so, there are numerous mysterious facts about his personality, let alone his bizarre habit of sneaking around the Academy.]] Then again, considering that the cast of this show consists of, at last count, a borderline sociopath, an 'Outseer', a 'Dualmind', multiple people with Duel Spirits, a hacker, a thief with a dark past, a boy possesed by an evil sword and another who can somehow fight Shadow duels despite not having a spirit, David is ''still'' probably the closest thing to a normal person at this school.

* BadassBystander: Not afraid to stand up against a scary Denero for the girl he seems to like, [[spoiler: even less scared to tell him in a frank manner why he sucks, and then curbstomp him. And that was when David was at his ''weakest''.]]
** [[spoiler: He even takes a stand against Apophis during the finale of the Apophis Arc.]]

* CowardlyLion: In large groups, he seems shy and awkward. When he's in less packed spaces, he is far more courageous. [[spoiler: Subverted, though, in that this is an act.]]

* FunctionalMagic: David uses a spellcaster deck. Specifically, one that uses both Secret Sanctuary and Secret Village of the Spellcasters, together with trap negating and destroying effects to lock down his opponents.
** [[spoiler: He is also apparently capable of some sort of powerful magic, enough to hurt ''Apophis.'']]
* [[spoiler: GlowingEyesOfDoom: Before using some sort of spell to help the group fight against Apophis in the finale.]]

* HiddenDepths: It seems there is definitely more to David than meets the eye. And he definitely knows a lot more than he says. [[spoiler: He is apparently very devoted to making sure the heroes face Apophis, but is willing to do anything to make sure this comes about. He also spies on people, and seems to have hidden a lot of issues.]]

* ObfuscatingStupidity: He seems to be a somewhat dimwitted, cowardly sort when being watched by others, and who can only be courageous when fighting to defend a girl he likes. [[spoiler: This front was momentarily dispelled when he became quite serious at the end of his duel with Denero, dishing out a very brutal Reason You Suck Speech. And ever since then, he simply stopped being quite so ditzy and cowardly, and has become more mysterious.]]

** Then there's the question of who's agenda he serves. His own? [[BigBad Apophis's]]? [[BiggerBad The monsters sealed by Apophis]]? [[BigGood The other Gods]]? Or ''[[ThePowersThatBe someone else]] [[OutsideContextVillain entirely]]?''

* [[spoiler: LukeIAmYourFather]]: Two of the cultists are revealed to be [[spoiler: Denero's parents]].

* NightmareFace: A hint that Haine is not a normal kid. [[spoiler: And just like Yami Marik, the longer the duel is going, the more nightmarish facial expressions show on his face.]]

However, he is apparently some sort of EvilSorcerer, he is currently duelling Marcus and Sylvestre, and he apparently uses a nasty deck full of traps. And then there's how he's completely dominating two duellists at once, torturing them both while keeping his better plays to himself in order to extend the suffering. Not to mention what he did to Gol'gar.]]

* TortureTechnician: [[spoiler: Just like in the original series]], his deck is based around inflicting as much suffering as possible. A task he takes to with ''gleeful'' relish.

* TookALevelInBadass / [[spoiler: AdaptationalBadass]][[spoiler: In the original series Yami Marik, while still threatening, was more dangerous due to the fact that he had an [[GameBreaker INSANELY overpowered card]], rather than any actual skill on his part.]] In this series however he has long since [[spoiler: lost the card]], and yet he ''still'' manages to utterly dominate both Marcus and Sylvestre.
** And then he switches to a larger and more powerful XYZ Deck made purely to kill his five enemies as quickly as possible, using many cards used by the Barian Invaders of Yugioh Zexal. [[spoiler: Ironically, this deck ends up being ''easier'' for the duelists to beat.]]

* InsistentTerminology: Regular!Gamma refers to Jacques as Master Jacques, [[spoiler:except when possessing him, which he calls him 'host']]. Corrupt!Gamma always refers to Jacques as Jacques-kun.
