* ShesAManInJapan: A very odd example. In the manga, Yamashita was without a doubt a male. He has suit design that is masculine, but he still was made fun of for looking like a girl. However in the anime, it's the exact opposite. In the anime adaptation, Yamashita is an androgynous woman that looks like a boy. This change might have been made because Gonzo [[UnfortunateImplications didn't like the idea of a boy possibly having romantic feelings for a man(In this case, Reiji) when Linebarrels of Iron seem to be pandering at a male crowd.]]

Added DiffLines:

* BookDumb: While he's certainly not stupid, and even seems to be well learned, a few scenes in the manga suggest he's barely literate in the Japanese language, though he speaks it just fine. Seeing as he's clearly a western man that's understandable.
