* ArcherArchetype: Her [Vocation] is archer, and she's skilled with a bow.

* InstantArmor: His skill [King's Armor] can materialize an armor on him, but so far it only covers parts of his body. [[spoiler:The right arm increases his attacking power, and he later unlock the left arm that not only protects him better, but can [[AttackReflector reflect part of the damage it takes]].]]

* InTheBack:[[spoiler:By Meiko. You'd better focus on the enemy in front of you rather than helping anyone else.]]

* BattleHarem: Apart Ryouko all the girls have feelings for TheHero.
* DysfunctionJunction: Their [Vocation]s and skills have great synergy, but the girls themselves aren't. If Yuuto isn't there to play peacemaker, they go after each other's throats.

* OnlySaneMan: She's the only one in the party who realizes, and is willing to call out, the party for their hypocrisy, injustice, classism, and everything else that's destined to not only turn everyone else on them, but them on each other. '''At best''', she gets ignored.

* DispelMagic: [[spoiler:The skill he thought to be the most useless, [Red Fever], can negate all status effects by [[OneCurseLimit replacing them]] with a "slight fever". This was instrumental in defeating Ooyama, who had buffed himself out of the wazoo with strength buffs: one [Red Fever] later, he was BroughtDownToNormal.]]

* AbominationAccusationAttack: When Kotaro attempts to lead everyone out of the [Orthus]' boss room (as it was quite different from what had been described) and the [Orthus] blasts the exit shut with a BreathWeapon, Hirano angrily accuses Kotaro of trying to flee and leave the others trapped with the monster.

* LeftForDead: She gets gravely injured when using her strongest attack on [Orthus] (which hit Kotaro since he was in the area of effect) backfires on her due to Kotaro's [Pain Return]. Meiko, seeing the aftermath, takes her HealingPotion and leaves her to her death.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: Yeah, sure, grabbing one (or more) of the girls from Yuuto's harem for some sick thrills sounds like a good idea, but this is certain to alienate Yuuto himself, and with his overpowered [Hero] [Vocation], the end result is not going to go well when he manages to catch up. This is not taking into account the abilities of the girls themselves...

* BroughtDownToNormal: [[spoiler:Kotaro uses [Red Fever] against him during their fight, to Kotaro own surprised it caused Ooyama to lose all his buffs at once. He was still able to use magic, but lost his superhuman strength.]]

* IAteWhat: Driven mad by hunger, he chances upon [[spoiler:a weakened Ooyama]]. Once he recovers his mind, Hajime finds clothing belonging to a male student and is revolted, then checks his newly acquired skills and realizes [[BaitAndSwitch he ate a known homosexual]].

* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He's elitist (thinking otakus are the penultimate life-form), homophobic, misogynistic, and racist, yet he's so self-deluded, he sees himself as the "hero" of the story.

* [[spoiler: CallToAgriculture: After Yamajun and Reina's deaths, he spends a lot of time alone, immersing himself in fishing and farming. This allows him to supply the class with eggs, milk, fish...]]

* {{Ambadassador}}: She's the one that prevents Meiko from ripping Asuna apart after the latter pushed Kotaro out of the teleport platform. She [[DopeSlap slapped]] Asuna herself several times to calm the [[TheBerserker Meiko]], knowing a preemptive attack figthing her would have a huge cost, she manages to buy temporary cooperation with tears.

* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: He's a chain-smoking delinquent, but he's a good and noble man and SmokingIsCool.

* BloodMagic: His blood has magical properties and is necessary to activate some of his skills. He can also use other people's blood to fuel his rituals: the first time he uses this, it's against the Basilisk in the [[GardenOfEvil poison marsh]].

* CreatingLife: His skill [Vile Mud Doll] and derivates allow him to summon an artificial soul and implant it in a body crafted out of Kotaro's blood and semen, mud, and [[MakerOfMonsters monster materials]] and give it an artificial soul. He can also attach the soul to [[VoodooZombie a corpse]] (which can be that of an [[RaisingTheSteaks animal]] or a [[NonHumanUndead monster]]. Kotaro calls her [[OurHomunculiAreDifferent Rem]].
** [[spoiler:Eventually, Kotaro manages to evolve Rem so much that she [[BecomeARealBoy becomes human]], with the ability of [[VoluntaryShapeshifting taking any form she used in the past]].]]

* DispelMagic: [[spoiler:The skill he thought to be the most useless, [Red Fever], can negate all status effects by [[OneCurseLimit replacing them]] with a "slight fever". The key is that can be used on a different target - which proves instrumental in defeating Ooyama, who had buffed himself out of the wazoo with multiple abilities: one [Red Fever] later, he was BroughtDownToNormal.]]
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Which is lampshaded often. Between his short stature and long hair, people wonder if he's a girl, but if he tries to cut his hair people believe he looks more childish.

* GrewASpine: When he arrived, he was quite cowardly. With time, he becomes much more capable of fighting.

* MagicCauldron: His skill [Witch's Cauldron] allows him to cook and make potions and [[MasterPoisoner poisons]], depending of the ingredients he has.

** [Blackhair Bind] can create ropes, hammocks, and fabric, or even cut meat.

* PrehensileHair: [Blackhair Bind] allows him raise hairs from the shadows or grow his own. Combining them, it grants him a [[SwissArmySuperpower a multifunctional weapon]], which can also [[TentacleRope tie up an opponent]], or [[BladeOnARope launch a knife]].

* SupernaturallyDeliciousAndNutritious: His blood has a special taste, even Meiko found him delicious. This is why [[SuperPersistentPredator Yoko]][[CannibalismSuperpower michi]] is hunting him.

* UnknownItemIdentification: His skill [Intuition Pharmacy] can figure out the medicinal properties of any herbs, ingredients, or materials he has in sight. It is very useful for when he needs to find edible food or materials for the potions and poisons he crafts with his [Witch's Cauldron].

* HouseWife: She proactively does all chores for Kotaro.

* WrongAssumption: She presumed Kotaro would be ecstatic upon learning that she beat Asuna to a pulp and won the "duel," in revenge for Asuna beating up Kotaro after she walked in on him and had the gall to be "disgusted". But Kotaro only felt disappointed that she went too far and, since they were still in a situation where they had to work together, it only made the situation worse.

* OurHomunculiAreDifferent: [[spoiler:Rem's final form, after absorbing Yamata no Orochi core, is a white-haired, blue-eyed, ArtificialHuman, and has the ability [[VoluntaryShapeshifting to take any forms]] she had in the past. This version of her is finally able to speak.]]

* DeathByPragmatism: After the [Orthus] locks Meiko and hurts Hirano, Kotaro manages to distract it with [Blackhair Bind], only to [[DrawAggro become his target]]. Then Hirano orders Minori to hit the [Orthus] with her strongest area-of-effect attack, even though Kotaro was there. This leads to Meiko (who manages to finish the [Orthus] alone) [[LeftForDead leaving him to die]] after she realizes he and Minori betrayed Kotaro.
* LeftForDead: His fate.

* KilledOffscreen: He was killed by a [Red Dog] just before Kotaro and Meiko found the party. [Red Dog] proceeded to eat him and evolved into an [Orthus].

* BattleHarem: All the girls (save for Ryouko) have feelings for TheHero.

* SchoolIdol: They are all part of TheBeautifulElite of Shiramine Private Academy, and a source of jealousy and respect for everyone.

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: There's a reason they're called "Worst Harem Party" in the chapters where they and Kotaro are working together. While they ''could'' be great, their clashing personalities diminish the benefits of their synergy. Also, they balk and backbite every single one of Kotaro's tactical ideas, only to realize too late that he was completely right.

* TheEngineer: He eventually learns [Basic Remodeling], which allows him to craft and repair simple items.
* HeroAntagonist: In just about any other work, he'd be a fine heroic protagonist. Here, though, it's obvious Kotaro is [[ATrueHero a better hero]] than him.
* HeroesFightBarehanded: He was already a good fighter before coming in this world. As a [Hero] he learns several [Martial Arts], and gets his own [Souma-Style Unarmed Combat Arts].
* HeroesPreferSwords: Yuuto has a clear preference for swords, as he was in the Kendo Club at school, like Kenzaki Asuna.
* HeroicSpirit: He seems to become stronger each time he falls into despair, such as when he thought his sister was killed by the Cerberus, [[spoiler:or when Asuna was about to be killed by Orochi]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: He stops Meiko from beating the hell out of Asuna after the latter pushed Kotaro off the teleport platform even though she knew it could get him killed, insisting on trying to resolve the problem peacefully. When he finds Kotaro over Reina's dead body, he immediately attempts to kill him (and would have if Meiko hadn't stopped him), goes ThisIsUnforgivable, and [[BlindJustice and absolutely refuses to hear his side of the story]].
** HypocrisyNod: Once he has a chance to cool down, he remembers he let Asuna go unpunished for what she did to Kotaro - not that this sways him from his self-righteous quest of hunting down Kotaro.

* ItsAllMyFault: He blames himself for every tragedy that befalls those around him. As far as he's concerned, [[ChronicHeroSyndrome all tragedies are because he's not strong enough]]: much as he blames Kotaro for Reina's death, he blames himself more because he arrived too late. This leads to him becoming his party's CrutchCharacter, while lamenting that he needs to become stronger to protect them.
* KnightlySwordAndShield: The first skill he received as a [Hero] is [Cross Calibur], which [[SwordBeam infuses his sword]] with [[LightEmUp the power of light]]. [[spoiler:During the fight against Orochi, he awakens [Heavenly Star Shield], [[BarrierWarrior a shield of hard light]] that appears on his left arm and can [[EnergyAbsorption absorb magic to restore his magical power]].]]

* VictorGainsLosersPowers: His [Hero] [Vocation] comes with the ability to gain new skills and powers from the defeated enemies. After he kills them, their corpses turn into light and are [[CannibalismSuperpower absorbed into his body]], allowing him to get new arts, skills and a WhiteMagic [[VariantPowerCopying version of their powers]], while the remains can later be used to make weapons. Incidentally, it's the only way he can obtain combat-related powers.

* FatalFlaw: Despite the name of her [Vocation], she has a few of them: she's [[ProperlyParanoid para]][[ImproperlyParanoid noid]], [[HystericalWoman tends to go hysterical]], is incredibly [[StubbornMule stubborn]] and [[ItsAllAboutMe selfish]], and loves to claim that she, her brother, and the people he's sweet one are [[HolierThanThou better, more honest, moral, praiseworthy, etc]].
* HeroWorshipper: She [[EgocentricallyReligious believes]] [[BigBrotherWorship her brother]] will always come to save her, at [[TravelingAtTheSpeedOfPlot any time and place]].
* InspectorJavert: In her perspective, Meiko's loyalty to Kotaro can't be anything but some kind of mind-control.
* LawfulStupid[=/=]StupidGood: She believes she has to be the group leader, but doesn't understand that it means she has a responsibility to protect her party from danger. When faced with a guy that has [[CardCarryingVillain openly declared his intention to]] [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil rape]] and [[ImAHumanitarian eat]] her and her partners, she only drives him away and prevents others from killing him, because "killing is bad". Never mind that not only will that guy return stronger and more determined to kill her and her friends, he is still a danger to everyone else. In spite of everything, she has yet to understand that they are in a place where the only rights they have are those they can protect with force.
* TheFundamentalist: She's [[TautologicalTemplar always "right"]], unable to put herself in question, or consider [[WithUsOrAgainstUs the opinions of others]] (unless it's her brother). She's suspicious of Kotaro [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity because of his job]], eager to see him as scum and will clamp down on him for the smallest offense, real or imagined. In fact, she happily agreed with Asuna's desire to [[DisproportionateRetribution beat him to a pulp]] for the crime of masturbating. When they discover he (apparently) killed Reina, she proclaims [[{{Demonization}} he's evil]] and "''killing is his nature''".
* TheMillstone: When she and her fellow haremettes were temporarily allied with Meiko and Kotaro, they all encounter Yokomichi Hajime, who has the [Cannibal] [Vocation] and is looking at them as if they were an all-you-can-eat buffet. Kotaro manages to get him off guard and stand down in an attempt to take him out with a sneak attack - but then Sakura fires a warning shot at Yokomichi's feet, screwing with Kotaro's plan and starting a fight. Then, she actively prevents her undecided teammates from helping Kotaro and Meiko, yelling that murder is wrong. Without that, Yokomichi manages to escape, which leads to the death of several innocent classmates.

* BullyingADragon: She knows Meiko is a [Berserker] and is angry because she beat up Kotaro for the "crime" of masturbating (even though he made everything well away from everyone else). Asuna still threatens Meiko with a sword and challenges her to a fight. While she lives to regret her idea, [[TooDumbToLive she doesn't learn the lesson]].

* DisproportionateRetribution: She beats the hell out of Kotaro ''for masturbating'' - which she only found because Kotaro deliberately went well away from the group and she followed him.

* {{Ambadassador}}: She's the one that prevents Meiko from ripping Asuna apart after the latter pushed Kotaro out of the teleport platform. After [[DopeSlap slapping]] Asuna several times, and knowing there was no way a preemptive attack against [[TheBerserker Meiko]] wouldn't work, she manages to buy temporary cooperation with tears.

* ReluctantRuler: Since she was the girls' class representative, she keeps getting shoved into leadership roles in whatever party she finds herself, unless said party already has a leader, and she hates it. Not that people pay attention to her when she's the leader.

* BookDumb: Fortunately, she has Ryouko to help her.
* ChainmailBikini: She wears a magic [[DressedLikeADominatrix swimming suit]] that works as armor only when worn by a Thief.

* DeviousDaggers: Specializes in knives.

* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: He's a chain-smoking delinquent, but he's a good and noble man.

* InstantArmor: His skill [King's Armor] can materialize an armor on him, but so far it only covers parts of his body. * DramaticIrony: [[spoiler:He was desperate to get a HealingPotion for Saya, not realizing she was already dead. After Kotaro and Meiko beat him and found Saya's corpse, they fought and killed the [Living Armor] Touya and Saya fled from - and found the potion Saya needed to recover from the wounds she got from fighting the [Living Armor].]]

* LetThemDieHappy: [[spoiler:Meiko told him she and Kotaro would heal Saya to let him die happy, not knowing his girlfriend was already dead.]]

* PsychicRadar: Being a [Archer] he got the abilities to [[SpiderSense sense danger]], as well as [[SensorCharacter detect enemies]] better than other [Vocation]s. He also got SuperHearing out of it.

* BroughtDownToNormal: [[spoiler:Kotaro uses [Red Fever] against him during their fight, causing Ooyama to lose all his positive status effects at once. He was still able to use magic, but lost the advantage.]]

* RevengeBeforeReason: [[spoiler:He admits that Kotaro and Meiko are not inherently bad, and that he and Sugino made them their enemies by tryint to steal their cores. When Kotaro and Meiko retaliate and kill Sugino, Ooyama runs off and swears revenge. Unfortunately for him, Hajime got to him first.]]

* AcquiredPoisonImmunity: After eating poisonous fish he gains the skill [Poison Resistance].
* CallToAgriculture: After Yamajun and Reina's deaths, he spends a lot of time alone, immersing himself in fishing and farming. This allows him to supply his party with foodstuffs.

* MeaningfulName: Inverted. His name "Genki" means ''full of energy'' but as he said he doesn't feel like that.

* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:He has a SuperMode called [Complete Transform] he uses in his final battle. In this form, he becomes a giant pig monster [[BodyOfBodies fused with many other things]] and is much stronger, but [[HourOfPower cannot maintain this form for long]].]]

* SexForServices: She has sex with guys who protect her in the dungeon. First it was Nakajima Yoma, then the Totem Pole Trio, and finally Yamada Genki. Airi mocks Nakajima and men in general who "desperately needed sex to the point of asking her, an ugly girl, for it".

* TheEngineer: He learns [Basic Remodeling], which lets him craft and repair simple items.

* BondCreatures[=/=]GuardianEntity: [[BearyFriendly Kinako]], [[HeroicDog Benio]], [[PantheraAwesome Koyuki]] and [[DelightfulDragon Aoi]].

* GreenThumb: Thanks to the spirits, he was able to find the {{healing herb}}s he needs to treat his familiars' wounds, and hide everyone when a dragon flies over their heads.

* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: When Hayama discovers his [Vocation], he tries to see if he can get a different one. The ability to befriend all living beings and natural spirits is far more useful than it seems.

* NiceGuy: He understands the cruelty of a world where everyone wants to survive, and yet he will heal a dying monster because he can. He also refuses to reject evil spirits because of what they are.

* MistakenIdentity: Higuchi saved her by mistake, thinking that it was his girlfriend Yukiko.
* MurderByMistake: She dies when Satou Yuuya attacks Higuchi and he dodges the attack.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: Introduced and killed in their first chapter.

** [[spoiler:Eventually, Kotaro manages to evolve Rem so much that she [[BecomeARealBoy becomes human]], with the ability of [[VoluntaryShapeshifting taking any form she used in the past.]]

* BattleRoyaleGame: They were told that only three peoples will be able to escape the dungeon. It's basically the PrisonersDilemma and this makes more difficult to trust each other.

One of the most notorious bullies and delinquents of class 2-7.

* DeviousDaggers: Even in earth he always carried a butterfly knife.

* ForTheEvulz: He never had a reason to be a shoplifter, delinquent, thug, or bully, he just enjoyed doing it, and this new world only made it worse!
* IControlMyMinionsThrough: Whatever means are available. He got the loyalty of "the totem pole trio" through fencing stolen goods and hooking them up with prostitutes, and in this new world maintains his strangle-hold through fear, murder, and sucking up to Reina.
* IfYouKillHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim: Which he tries ''to save his life'' when Kotaro manages to turn the tables and put his life in peril, looking to kill him, he pleads that Kotaro will just turn into another Higuchi. This pointedly does not stay Kotaro's hand, as he's well aware that any mercy will be repaid with a literal knife InTheBack. Besides, Kotaro's had to avenge the murder of his best friend, Masuru that Higuchi treated as a slave first.

* MoralMyopia: He's arguably among the worst kind of bullies. He threatens, harasses, provokes, taunts, steals from, and attacks his victims, trying to get them to take a swing at him, and when they fight back ''screeches'' "self-defense" at them as he tries to kill them. In this new world, he adds murder, attempted murder, SexualExtortion, and outright rape, and then retaliates with lethal force when he's attacked or his intended prey dares defend itself.

* TheSneakyGuy: Being a [Thief] give him a [[PsychicRadar sixth sense]] that can [[SpiderSense sense danger]] and the position of treasures and traps in his surrounding, his ability to [[SensorCharacter detect presence]] is also better than others.

* AmbiguousInnocence: Yuuto once flashbacks to the time he met her in kindergarten. At that time, she was already well on the path to being a dangerous narcissist. During his recess, he goes to the playground to see that she had already got herself a little clique of "knights" surrounding her while she monopolized the slide playset, not to actually play with it, but simply to sit there and admire her own sense of superiority. Yuuto fights his way through the knights, climbs up the playset and lectures her, telling her that the playset is communal property and she needs to share. She responds by shoving him off the playset and cracking his skull. He looks back on this memory ''fondly.''
* AttackBackfire: Once her [Guardian Beasts] are lured away or defeated, and she finds a thoroughly pissed off Kotaro, whom she tried to murder for the umpteenth time, bearing down on her, she awakens an ability that repels any hostile act. When she uses it on Kotaro, screaming that she hates him and wishes him dead, he goes so mind-numbingly angry that he blacks out, waking up atop her, his knife in her heart. [[FromBadToWorse Immediately afterwards, Yuuto shows up, "wanting to hear no more of his excuses".]]

* DudeMagnet: Many boys crush on her and want protect this little princess, there only a few exception like Higuchi, Kotaro, and Yamajun.

* EntitledToHaveYou: To Souma Yuuto. No one is allow to get in her way.
* GuardianEntity: Her [Vocation] [Spirits Master] allow her [[MagicallyBindingContract to make a contract]] with spirituals [Guardian Beasts], who fights for her. She has four of them, each based on elements: fire, lightning, HolyWater, and wind.

* ObliviouslyEvil: Chapter 136 reveals the truth. She honestly doesn't believe she's doing anything wrong, because she doesn't just ''look'' like a small child, she also thinks like one.
* PrefersTheIllusion: She refuse to believe her teammates when they told her that what she see as Souma Yuuto is a fake.
* ProneToTears: Reina cries at anything, when she's afraid, sad... but not for someone else.

* ReforgedIntoAMinion: Kotaro use her corpse as a hostage to force Yuuto to let him escape. Unfortunately [[NoBodyLeftBehind her body turn to ashes]] when he cancel the curse, so Yuuto couldn't bury her.

* TheMillstone: And completely antagonistic about it. She is so entitled that she will openly destroy the efforts of her party if they don't meet her sense of aesthetics. In fact, after Kotaro rescues her current party, from a swarm of [Goma], she "gets scared" and attacks Rem #1 and #2, composed of materials he can't easily replace, ignoring her teammates begged her to stop, patting her spirits for a job well done, and nearly kills Kotaro himself when he objects. It's so bad, she will attack any Rem he makes, even though they need all the help they can get to get to the nearest transfer circle, and still refuses to offer any assistance in the assault on the [Goma] fortress the party has to go through...

* ToughLove: On the receiving end from Kotaro, though he rightly doesn't care if she lives or dies, after everything she's done to him. Unfortunately for her, she learns nothing from it, and goes right back to being murderous the moment she gains the upper hand and decides she doesn't need Kotaro or the totem-pole trio anymore.
--> '''Kotaro:''' "Like the spider-silk hammock, scrumptious meals, and heated baths I provide? Good, now they come with a price, either get off your lazy butt and help us conquer the [Goma] fortress we need to conquer in order to proceed, or enjoy sleeping on the grass, eating nuts and berries you pick yourself, and bathing in the river. Oh, Yamada, don't break the rules and share your food with her, those who don't work, don't eat."

* MilesGloriosus: Back in Japan, he loved to boast how he was at least a good fighter, and had he been anywhere nearby when Yuuto and Tendo beat up delinquents in protection of a girl in distress, he'd have beat up them too, so he can't fathom why Yuuto's a ChickMagnet. In the dungeon, he's so pathetic, he gets steamrolled by just about anything, despite his [Warrior] [Vocation]. Kotaro himself noted how he struggle to beat two skeletons, barely able to defeat them by using a bunch of his [Martial Arts], that's why he winds up under Higuchi's thumb.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: After the battle with Higuchi was over, his corpse turn to a pile of ash.

* AllYourPowersCombined: Tendo is close to have all kind of abilities, not only because he can absorb skills by eating, but also because his own [King] [Vocation] give him a lot.
* AloofAlly: He help peoples in need but according to him it's not because he was interested, he was simply passing.

* CannibalismSuperpower: His skill [Law of the Jungle] allow him to gain new powers from what he eats, he doesn't have to eat that much either, just a pinkie bone or a sip of blood will do...

* ChickMagnet: Like his friend Yuuto he attracts girls without even trying.

* FrenchMaid: [[spoiler:His perverse maid Momoko, of course Tendo can argue it's only because he admired Momokowa leadership abilities that [[MistakenForGay she got the same apparence]].]]
* GoodIsNotNice: He's aloof and acerbic but has a strong moral compass and protects innocents.

This proves instrumental in defeating Ooyama, who buffed himself out the wazoo with several strength buffs and was BroughtDownToNormal by this curse. But still, it is clearly not the first skill he needed.]]
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Which is lampshaded often. His short size and long hair make peoples wonder if he's a girl, but because of his cute face he look more childish if he try to cut his hair.

* GrewASpine: He's much less cowardly in the later chapters than when he just arrive in this world.

* HopeCrusher: [[spoiler:After destroying the [Goma] kingdom, he destroyed the last hope their King has that his hundreds years of hard work would leave at least a heir. He did so with the purpose to use his grudge to create a powerful cursed artifact he could use.]]
* HumanResources: [[spoiler:His Fool's cane allows him to use the abilities of the dead by inserting their skulls on it. A variant is to use a skull to make a [[MaskOfPower mask]].]]
* JackOfAllTrades: His Shaman's abilities are very diverse, even include things like healing, crafting and understanding ancient language although he's not as good as the Saintess and the Sage, he also got basic fighting skills by training with his classmates.

* LostLanguage: [[spoiler:Like Kotori he finally got the ability to understand part of the [Ancient Language] needed to use the [[LostTechnology hidden]] [[OldMagic functions]] of the dungeon.]]
* KnightInSourArmor: He's a kind nature and can sacrifice himself if it's the price to save someone dear to him, but he had to adapt in order to survive, and suffered many disillusions.
* MagicCauldron: His skill [Witch's Cauldron] allows him to cook, make potions, like those that [[ManaPotion restore mana]], [[MasterPoisoner poisons]]... depending of the ingredients he has.

* MasterOfIllusion: [[spoiler:He can alter the appearance of an object or a person as long as it does not deviate too much from the original, for example he made a realistic [Goma] [[MasterOfDisguise disguise]] out of [[ReplicantSnatching one's skin]].]]
* MissedTheCall: In the first few chapters, most of the class goes out the correct entrance. He, on the other hand, falls out the back, mid-transit, because his desk-neighbor Meiko accidentally shoves him out. Fortunately, he doesn't land too far away from the rest...
* MundaneUtility: His skills [Witch's Cauldron] and [Blackhair Bind] have many mundane uses. The first can be use for cooking, food preservation, water purification, and a big enough one can be use as a bath or wc. While the second can be use to make ropes, hammock, curtain, cut the meat...

* OneNoteCook: After getting his [Witch's Cauldron] skill from Ruinhilde, he can make soups and stews, but does not know any other way to cook, aside from copying Meiko's "grilled snake-meat" recipe. Still, this does open up the nutritional options of just about any party he travels with as the only alternative is the nuts that are provided in the rest-zones aptly named [Fairy Squares].

* PoisonousPerson: His most offensive skill [Rotten Bog] allows him to create [[PoisonIsCorrosive an acid pool]] from a drop of his blood, a variant of it is to make acid hairs with [Blackhair Bind]. He also got a skill called [Venomic Vessel], which grant him [[TheImmune immunity against poisons]] and others effect he didn't discover yet.
* PowerStrainBlackout: So far, this has happened three times when Momokawa has tried to make bodies for Rem that exceed his limit.
* PowerTattoo: [[spoiler:He can use his blood to engrave various tattoos, they become a power the engraved can active at will, but it comes with a [[PowerAtAPrice curse]]. One of them give the power of a [[MarkOfTheBeast Raging Beast]].]]
* PragmaticHero: Though relatively mild, Kotaro is pragmatic, he will no hesitate to torture monsters if he needs to test a poison he made or anything else, and [[TheExtremistWasRight he gets results]].
* PrehensileHair: He has the ability to raise hairs from shadows or growing his own, it can be use [[TentacleRope to tie up an opponent]], or [[BladeOnARope launching a knife]], and otherwise it is [[SwissArmySuperpower a multifonctional weapon]].
* SocialEngineering: Kotaro has learned to manage the relationships inside a party. He made "Class Rep" the leader of the [Worst Harem Party], gave both Julia and Maria the perfect excuse for one-on-one time with Tendo, which both of them really wanted and repair their relation with Randou. [[spoiler: He even managed to make Reina participate in the raid on the [Goma] fort and lead the class until Orochi's final defeat.]]
* TheSmartGuy : He's always the smart guy in his group, others tend to rely on him to find a solution.

* SupernaturallyDeliciousAndNutritious: His blood has a special taste, even Meiko found him delicious, that's why [[SuperPersistentPredator Yokomichi]] hunt him.

* ThisIsUnforgivable: He's willing to shrug off a great deal of crap and is exemplary in his patience, but if you cross the line, whip out the lethal force to him or his, he will find a way to kill you. End of Story.

* TrapMaster: If possible he will prepare a certain victory first and set traps using [Blackhair Bind] and [Rotten Bog] or simply asking Rem to ambush the target InTheBack. Like he said:

* TortureTechnician: How he uses [Goma] for the sake of experimentations.

* UnluckyEverydude: What he was at the start, due to his short height and girly face which affected his self-confidence. To his shame, he was even pursued by bad guys who thought he was a girl.

* VictorGainsLosersPowers: With his necromancy, he turned some of his enemies into [Corpse Doll]. He was able to obtain the skulls of some of the enemies he killed, [[spoiler: like Yokomichi or the King Oma]], he also obtained Higuchi's knife.

* YankTheDogsChain: Whenever things start looking up for him, something comes along to take his happiness away. For example he manages to get Randou unlock her [Geomancer] [Vocation], repair the friendship between her and her two friends, making the party, under him, fight like a well-oiled-machine in [[ZergRush a crisis]]. He even gets a LoveConfession from Randou, just before an [Arachne] webs him up and drags him away...

Much as he'd love to look upon her nude body, he'd rather not risk offending someone that can snap him in half, and whose life he depends on, thank-you-very-much.
* TheBerserker: The [Vocation] she received after going on a RoaringRampageOfRescue, saving Kotaro from a [Goma] lynching. It greatly improves her [[SuperSenses senses]], [[SuperReflexes reflexes]], and [[LightningBruiser all her physical abilities]], and allow her to use cursed weapons.

* CombatClairvoyance: She received the skill [Foresight], it was a starter of her former [Vocation] [Knight].
* CombatPragmatist: Although she is a former [Knight] she cares not a whit about chivalry and honor, throwing dust in her opponent's eyes, throwing corpses to distract enemies, killing InTheBack...

* DrawAggro: One of her skill consists to scream a BattleCry that makes all enemies in the area target her if they don't resist it.
* DrugsAreBad: Holy, moley does this apply. Fleeing a swarm of [Goma] in a panic, she condemns herself for abandoning Kotaro, a classmate who ''consistently'' treated her kindly, then she snorts the [Goma]'s FantasticDrug. Not only does she go totally berserk, awakening the [Berserker] [Vocation], but in a fugue, she ''bites Kotaro's throat!'' Fortunately, he survives with a scar and completely forgives her.
* EvilWeapon: [[spoiler:Her skill [Hearer of Voices] allows her to use cursed weapons, like her old butcher’s knife.]]
* EmbarrassingNickname: She was called ''Butaba'' when she was fat, a wordplay between her name "Futaba" and "Pig" in japanese.
* FailureKnight: What she was at the beginning which is why her companions dropped her. She swore to become a better knight after being saved by Kotaro, but she remained the same until the events that turned her into a [Berserker].
* FanservicePack: Even after slimming down in the dungeon, her ginourmous bust is still growing, to the point that she has to keep her jersey almost unzipped ''because it's too small.''

* HouseWife: She proactively does all chores, cooks for, cleans for Kotaro.

* LeftForDead: Badly wounded and originally TheLoad, her first party dumps her in a [Fairy Square] to not waste a HealingHerb they found. They leaves her to bleed out, stripping her equipments ''right in her face'', even calling her ''Butaba''. Fortunately for her, Kotaro shows up, heals her, and she gain a few levels in badass.

* LyingToProtectYourFeelings: She made Kotaro believe that Hirano and Nishiyama were already dead when she broke free because those who harm him are not allowed to live. She also let Touya believe that they would save his Saya so he could die in peace.

* MegatonPunch: Her [Berserker] granted skill [Pile Bunker].

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When she wakes up out of her fugue, she vividly remembers what she did, including the "hickie" she gave Kotaro. She was horrified by what she did and at the possibility he could abandon her. Fortunately, Kotaro completely forgive her for what she could not control. She see the make-shift stretcher that he made to drag her to the next [Fairy Square], making her fall for him, hard.

* RedEyesTakeWarning: If her eyes go red, that means she's in a berserk state and won't stop until either she or her target(s) of rage is dead. Only Kotaro is sure to reining her in when she's in that state.
* SecurityCling: After Asuna's "little stunt", and they're reunited, she takes to grabbing Kotaro in a bear-hug whenever the two take a teleport platform so they're never separated again.

* ShieldBash: She has a martial art that allows her to attack with a shield.

* TinyGuyHugeGirl: She's TheBigGirl and Kotaro the [[TinySchoolboy tiny guy]].
* UndyingLoyalty: To Kotaro, and he's ''earned it''. Despite the fact that she was so cowardly at the start that she couldn't bring herself to use a spear to stab a monster Kotaro had already crippled, fled in a panic when a swarm of [Goma] was lynching him, only to return in a drugged-up berserker state mowing down the [Gomas] like they were paper-mache, pinning him down and '''biting him in the throat''' while in her fugue, he still rigged together a stretcher and dragged her to the next camp. * ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Mess with Kotaro, and she hears of it? Better run as fast and far as you can because she's the living embodiment of righteous vengeance and UnstoppableRage. See Kenzaki Asuna folder below.

* WeightWoe: She has been very complexed by her weight and was happy when she started to slim.

* WrongAssumption: She presumed Kotaro would be ecstatic upon learning that she beat Asuna to a pulp and won the "duel," in revenge for Asuna beating up Kotaro after she walked in on him and had the gall to be "disgusted". But she went way too far, and they were still in a situation where they had to work together, this only served to make the situation worse, irritating Kotaro instead.

* DarkIsNotEvil: Even though she was be made with curse magic, she wouldn't harm a fly unless ordered by Kotaro, or in self-defense.
* DoAnythingSoldier: Literally. Rem can assume all tasks like fighting, transport, doing reconnaissance... and all [[UndeadLaborers time-consuming tasks]].
* [[spoiler: EmotionlessGirl: Even after receiving a human body, she never expressed any emotion.]]
* FleshGolem: When built using monster materials rather than mud alone. At first Kotaro was only able to make a black [[DemBones Skeleton]] wearing armor based on the materials used.

* ItCanThink: Kotaro begins to suspect she has an ego upon realizing she takes initiatives and actually learns from her mistakes, unlike the [[ArtificialStupidity mindless]] undeads that can be found anywhere in the dungeon. Later chapters confirmed she has a soul.
* ManBitesMan: With Masaru's body. When she was down, she bit Higuchi's leg, torning his Achilles tendon.
* MesACrowd: Rem consciousness is spilt over all her bodies and control them simultaneously.
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: An aspect of her creation is that she will obey her Master every order without question.

* [[spoiler: OurHomunculiAreDifferent: Rem final form, after absorbing Yamata no Orochi core, is a white-haired, blue-eyed, [[BecomeARealBoy Real]] [[ArtificialHuman Girl]], and has the ability [[VoluntaryShapeshifting to take any forms]] she had in the past. This version of her is finally able to speak.]]

* PoisonousPerson: When made using [Rotten Bog] acid, sometimes Kotaro give her the body of a venomous monster.

* SlidingScaleOfUndeadRegeneration: Case 2, her bodies don't rot but don't heal either, except if Kotaro repair them with new materials. [[spoiler: This does not apply to her main body which can regenerate with mana, case 4.]]
* TheSpeechless: She's able to communicate to some extend with hand gestures and simples sounds, but she's not able to speech.

!!The second party Kotaro encounters:

* AbominationAccusationAttack: When Kotaro attempts to lead everyone out of the [Orthus] boss room, due to the beast being quite different from what was described, and the [Orthus] blasts the exit shut with a BreathWeapon, Hirano angrily accuses Kotaro of being a coward and having tried to flee, letting them trapped with the monster.

* CoolSword: He received the [Vocation] [Swordsman] and had a real sword found in a treasure box.
* DeathByPragmatism: After the Boss locked Meiko and hurt Hirano, Kotaro managed to distract the [Orthus] with his [Blackhair Bind] and become its targer. Then Hirano orders Minori to blast both the [Orthus] and Kotaro, pinned beneath it, with her strongest AOE attack. She complies, hurting the beast, but at the price of mortally wounding Kotaro, and herself since she had forgot his [Pain Return]. Finally, having lost a lot of blood Hirano was LeftForDead by Meiko who managed to finish the boss alone, and had realized they betrayed Kotaro.

* LeftForDead: As the two-headed [Orthus] was pinning down Kotaro she obeyed Hirano and used her most powerful wind attack on it, catching Kotaro in the collateral damage, but his [Pain Return] ability wounded her just as badly. When Meiko sees the aftermath, she takes her HealingPotion and let her dying.
* PleaseIWillDoAnything: She begged, pleaded, and promised to do anything Meiko wanted if she was healed with her potion. Meiko was uninterested in helping someone who betrayed Kotaro, she takes the healing potion, [Orthus] core and uses the teleport platform to transport the unconscious Kotaro to safety.
* ShootTheHostage: Kotaro himself states that Minori using her powerful AOE attack on the [Orthus] while it had him pinned was a logical move since he had lost their confidence.

* KilledOffscreen: Died to a big [Red Dog] boss before Kotaro and Meiko encountered the party. After eating him the Boss evolve into an [Orthus].
* TheSneakyGuy: He received the [Vocation] [Thief], it's thanks to him the party found a healing potion, and Minori's wand.

! The Worst Harem Party:

* BattleHarem: Apart Ryouko all girls of the party have feelings for TheHero.
* DysfunctionJunction: While their jobs and skills have great synergy, they don't. Without Yuuto to play "peacemaker," they're often at each other's throats.

* SchoolIdol: The members, along with Reina Ayase and Tendo Ryuichi, are TheBeautifulElite of Shiramine Private Academy, and a source of jealousy and respect for everyone.

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: There's a reason they're called "Worst Harem Party" in the chapters where they and Kotaro were working together. It gets thoroughly deconstructed as the party falls completely apart because they balk and backbite every single one of his tactical decisions, and realized later, to their chagrin, ''he was right!''

* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: He will drop everything, including his own self-preservation, to rescue a girl, like a KnightInShiningArmor. This made him the hero of class 2-7 in Japan, where the class beauties were constantly harassed, if not assaulted, by the delinquents of the rival school "Black High". In the dungeon, it just leads him to push himself way, way too hard, and he develops a monumentally dangerous DoubleStandard concerning his harem party members and anyone they come into conflict with.
* BigDamnHeroes: He pulls this several times, when his sister was attacked by an [Armor Bear], when Asuna and Kotori were facing a [Goma] wielding a [cursed-weapon], when he reunite with his party in the [Insect Cave]...
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Whenever he hears of someone in distress, he must rush in to save them, with rare exception.

* [[spoiler: TheEngineer: He learned the [Basic Remodeling], which allow to craft and repair simple items.]]
* HeroAntagonist: In just about any other work, he'd be a fine heroic protagonist. In this story, you can ask who is the [[ATrueHero True Hero]] between him and Kotaro and the fact he coddles Asuna, leaving her completely unpunished for an act of attempted murder he himself witnessed, while swearing murderous vengeance on Kotaro for killing Reina, without trying to know why he did that make him a hypocrite.
* HeroesFightBarehanded: He was already a good fighter before coming in this world. As a [Hero] he learn several [Martial Arts] and got his own [Souma-Style Unarmed Combat Arts].
* HeroesPreferSwords: Yuuto has a clear preference for swords, he was in the Kendo Club at school, like Kenzaki Asuna.
* HeroicSpirit: He seems to become stronger each time he feel despair, when he thought his sister was killed by the Cerberus, [[spoiler: or when Asuna was about to be killed by Orochi.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: He stops Meiko from beating Asuna's face in after she tried to murder Kotaro by pushing him off the teleport circle, insisting on trying to resolve this peacefully, yet he finds Kotaro over Reina's dead body and immediately tries to strike him down, going ThisIsUnforgivable, promising to kill Kotaro, would have if Meiko didn't stopped him, [[BlindJustice and absolutely refusing to hear his side of the story]].
** HypocrisyNod: Once he's had a chance to cool down, he remembers how he let Asuna go completely unpunished for trying to murder Kotaro. This does not sway him from his self-righteous quest of hunting down Kotaro to kill him.
* IdealHero: He has the traits most people idolize [[TheCape in heroes]], at least until things stop going his way.
* ItsAllMyFault: He's blaming himself for every tragedy. Much as he hates Kotaro for Reina's death, he hates himself ''more'' because he teleported in just after she died. In his perspective [[BewareTheSuperman all tragedies are because he's not strong enough]]. He take the major bulk of the party's problems on himself, this causes the rest of the party to stagnate and suffer, while he laments: ''"I have to become stronger."''.
* KnightlySwordAndShield: The first skill he received as a [Hero] is [Cross Calibur] which [[SwordBeam infuse his sword]] with [[LightEmUp the power of light]]. [[spoiler: During the fight against Orochi, because Asuna was about to die, he awake a new power, [Heavenly Star Shield] [[BarrierWarrior a shield of hard light]] that appear on his left arm and can [[EnergyAbsorption absorb magic it take to restore his magical power]].]]

* TheOneGuy: He always end as the only guy in a female party.
* OneManArmy: He's able to take alone a large number of monsters with the power of the [Hero], as he proves when he save his party, [[ZergRush outnumbered]] in the [Insect Cave].
* PersonOfHolding: He can store weapons in an extra-dimensional storage space. The definition of "weapon" also include things like potions...
* PsychicRadar: He has the ability to detect traps in his surrounding.
* RealMenDontCry: Deconstructed. He keeps everything bottled up. Minami and Sakura both pick up on it. While Minami is willing to be the shoulder he cries on, [[ClingyJealousGirl she gets shut down by Sakura]] which is the only one allow to comfort her ''"nii-san"''.
* SelectiveObliviousness: He's can't bring himself to believe Meiko has more than ample rational reason to choose Kotaro over himself even considering the fact that the following list is hardly exhaustive:
** He's informed by Minami and Ryouko that they abandoned Meiko when she was grievously wounded and helpless, denied her medical aid, stripped her of her equipment right in her face to be LeftForDead while Kotaro came to her aid, saved her life, swore a vow to never, ever abandon her, and has ''consistently'' treated her kindly, regardless of the situation.
** He ''witnessed'' Asuna attempt to murder Kotaro in a fit of pique, try to place the entire blame on Kotaro for all her actions, and still coddles her, [[EasilyForgiven letting her go completely unpunished]].
** He's seen Meiko sneak out of camp in the middle of the night to cry herself silly because the man she loves is missing, fate unknown, and he knows his party is only going through the motions to try and find him, to keep her from lashing out. In fact, some of them certainly hoped they would never find him.
* SkilledButNaive: He's StrongAndSkilled, has very powerful abilities granted by his [Vocation] including NewPowersAsThePlotDemands, and VictorGainsLosersPowers, but he's so brave and genuinely heroic that he has trouble fathoming the more sinister aspects of human nature. Especially when it comes from his own haremettes who are "lovey-dovey" around him, and could be sadistic bitches to others. He believe in FemalesAreMoreInnocent, that's why he [[TheUnfairSex never blame them]].
* StockLightNovelHero: An invoked subversion. The author Q&A chapters repeatedly reveal that he's got all the lovely "protagonist" powers and circumstances for a harem-based isekai, except the main character is Kotaro.
* TheVictimMustBeConfused: Since he has deluded himself into believing that there is no sufficiently rational reason for Meiko to choose Kotaro over himself, and he's seen Kotaro use Reina's corpse as a hostage, he [[InspectorJavert conclude that one of Kotaro's curses must be compelling her to serve him]]. He refuses to acknowledge his hypocrisy, though he does recognize it, in protecting the very people who wronged both Meiko and Kotaro, while condemning Kotaro to death under similar circumstances and refusing to hear his side of the story.

* VictorGainsLosersPowers: His [Hero] [Vocation] comes with the ability to gain new skills and powers from the defeated enemies. After he killed them their corpses turn into light and are [[CannibalismSuperpower absorbed into his body]], then he got new arts, skills and a WhiteMagic [[VariantPowerCopying version of their powers]]. The process leaves the parts that can be use to make weapons. He is only able to obtain combat-related powers this way.
* WhatTheHellHero: He didn't sanctioned Asuna when she pushed Kotaro off the teleporter, yet he tried to kill him immediately when he found him near Reina corpse, refusing to hear his side of story.

* BigBrotherAttraction: Even on Earth, when the two interacted, everyone around them saw a "pink space" event going on. [[spoiler: They may not be [[NotBloodSiblings blood-related siblings]].]]

* FatalFlaw: Despite the name of her [Vocation] she has a few of them: [[ProperlyParanoid Paranoia]]; [[HystericalWoman Hysteria]]; [[StubbornMule Stubborness]]; [[ItsAllAboutMe Selfishness]], for herself and her group that's why she's a total bitch to everyone except her brother and the people he's sweet on; [[HolierThanThou Sense of superiority]], she ''loves'' to lord over others how [[WithUsOrAgainstUs they are better]], more honest, moral, praiseworthy...
* HeroWorshipper: She [[EgocentricallyReligious believes in]] [[BigBrotherWorship her brother]], "''he would come and save us, [[TravelingAtTheSpeedOfPlot any time and any place]]''", to precise she said that after Kotori unsuccessfully tried to call him in the [Insect Cave].
* InspectorJavert: In her perspective Meiko loyalty to Kotaro can't be anything but some kind of mind-control.
* LawfulStupid: Helpful hint, it's not "murder" when using lethal force against a guy who has [[CardCarryingVillain openly proclaims his desire to rape and eat them]], [[IAmAHumanitarian actively tries to act on it.]], and will come back even stronger and more determined if you drive him away. Without counting that letting him go away will endanger the lives of your others classmates. But still [[TooDumbToLive killing is bad]]. She wanted be the leader but don't get she has a reponsability to protect her party before all, and that's they're in a lawless place where the only rights you have are those you can protect with force.
* TheFundamentalist: She's [[TautologicalTemplar always "right"]], unable to put herself in question, or consider [[WithUsOrAgainstUs the opinions of others]]. She's suspicious of Kotaro [[BlackAndWhiteInsanity because of his job]], eager to see him as scum and will clamp down on him for the smallest offense, real or imagined. In fact, she happily agreed with Asuna's desire to beat him to a pulp for the crime of masturbating. When they discover he killed Reina she proclaimed [[{{Demonization}} he's evil]] and "''killing is his nature''".
