Himaruya originally intended to have Hungary as a WholesomeCrossdresser. He used this idea for Poland instead.

* InnocentFanserviceGirl: She didn't seem to mind the fact that her clothes got torn up in one strip, revealing her breasts to Prussia.

* StayInTheKitchen: PlayingWithATrope. Aside from becoming tough out of necessity, upon realizing that she's female, Hungary seems fine slipping into a more "womanly" mold and becoming Austria's maid. On the other hand, it's shown over time that just because she's a woman [[TookALevelInBadass doesn't mean she's any less badass than the male Nations]]. It's no surprise that as an adult, she's both clearly feminine and one of the ''manlier'' characters in ''Hetalia''.

* TheGunslinger: His [[WeaponOfChoice Weapons Of Choice]] are several different guns, but personality-wise, he's more like a parody of the trope. Not to be confused with that ''other'' [[Manga/{{Trigun}} Vash]], though.

* MysteriousPast: Usually with Hetalia you can pretty much read each character's life story from {{Wiki/Wikipedia}}. But this nation-tan character is more or less artifically created, as one cannot draw a clear line from UsefulNotes/TheTeutonicKnights to the kingdom of UsefulNotes/{{Prussia}}, let alone from there to UsefulNotes/EastGermany. Therefore much of his life is left for CanonFodder.
