* BigEater: Ron has a different snack in every scene of the first musical. When he complains about not having a snack in one scene, [[BreakingTheFourthWall he is promptly handed one by the pianist.]] WordOfGod says that this version of Ron is so poor that he tries to eat as much free food as he can while at Hogwarts. (This was EnforcedMethodActing for the Website/YouTube recording of AVPM, where Joey Richter really didn't get to eat dinner before going onstage.)

* CannotSpitItOut: Ron's spends all of the sequel attempting to tell Hermione about his feelings, but never does. Even in the original (chronologically after the sequel), he has a whole duet in Act 1 stressing about his feelings and only comes clean to Hermione when their lives are in danger come Act 2.

* FighterMageThief: Alluded to with this version of the Trio, where Hermione is the only one who's actually good at magic, Harry is more of a GuileHero and charismatic bard, and Ron prefers brute force solutions. When the Sword of Godric Gryffindor is revealed Ron ''[[CanonDefilement immediately throws away his wand]]'' and declares "I'm the sword guy now!"

* HypocriticalHeartwarming: Ron does nothing but berate Ginny, and has no problem calling her stupid. But when Malfoy starts to berate her and call her stupid, [[BigBrotherInstinct he doesn't hesitate to jump to her defense.]] Leading to this interaction:

* MasterSwordsman: Or "Sword Guy", as he puts it, though he's not as much of a master as he thinks. Unlike in canon he's the one drawn to Gryffindor's Sword and won't let go of it, to the point where in AVPSY Harry hands it back to him after defeating the Basilisk.

* ImprobableAge: In the first show, the cast are in their second year at Hogwarts, and yet they're all [[DawsonCasting played by college students]]. Only midway through Act Two is it mentioned that, yes, they actually are only 12 years old. Turned up a notch in ''Sequel'', when they're 11 year old first years and things get even raunchier. First-year students are called "freshmen", they curse like sailors, and they're all quite preoccupied with romantic and sexual feelings for each other. Averted somewhat in ''Senior Year'', when they are seventh years (or as they call them, “seniors”) and are suppose to be 17-18 years old.

* HypocriticalHumor: The students are appalled by his cursing, despite nearly all of them being fairly foulmouthed themselves. Taken UpToEleven in ''A Very Starkid Reunion'', in which Harry and Ron's every sentence is peppered with s-words and f-words, but their reactions to Lupin's cursing remains the same.

* NiceHat: Crabbe wears a baseball cap. In the first musical, it's got a Slytherin-themed checkerboard pattern; in the second, it's black.

* NiceHat: They both wear caps to go with the respective stereotypes they represent.

* NiceHat: Resembles a kofia, but tasseled like a fez.
