And by contrast of most Precure movies, it explicitly deems canon by WordOfGod, placed between episode 36 and 37. [[spoiler:And also serves as foreshadowing; [[TakenForGranite Howling's action in the movie]] actually has the closest result as [[WorldOfSilence Noise's true goal]], which then he does so himself in finale arc, than his other minions.]]

* {{Expy}}: Hibiki in civilian form looks like a longer-haired, blue-eyed [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Nagisa]], while as Cure Melody she is pretty much the offspring of Anime/PapillonRose and [[Manga/ShugoChara Amulet Heart]]. A good portion of the fandom also noticed Cure Rhythm's similarity to [[Anime/AshitaNoNadja Nadja Applefield]].
** Cure Rhythm also bears a bit of a resemblance to Stella from Daft Punk's [[Anime/{{Interstella5555}} musical movie]].
** Interestingly, Hibiki in civilian form also seems to bear resemblance to [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Asuka]] due to her hairstyle, she just doesn't have Asuka's [[EveryGirlIsCuterWithHairDecs trademark hairclips]].
** Aphrodite looks a lot like [[Manga/WeddingPeach Wedding Peach's]] own Aphrodite.
** [[spoiler:Noise]] has been drawing comparisons to [[Anime/DigimonSavers Ravemon]].

* NotSoDifferent: [[spoiler:both Noise and the Cures' final forms are based on birds. Also, Cure Melody's WordOfCardboardSpeech for Noise is basically pointing him that they're fueled by the same source of power: happiness.]]
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Trio the Minor. After several episodes of standing in the background and acting as Siren's wacky sidekicks, the three are revealed to have gathered a good deal of notes on their own, whereas Siren has yet to gather even one. In episode 11, Bassdrum takes Siren's leadership position after Mephisto demotes her and immediately stages a trap that came much closer to defeating the Cures than any of Siren's plans ever had. Later in the series after their Mid-Season Upgrade they also ''succeed'' in suckering the Cures and stealing all of their notes save for the one they got from that episode's Negatone.
** Then it turns out [[spoiler:any one of them can become the next King of Minor Land should Noise deem it so.]]
** Mephisto seemed like a rather silly villain until [[spoiler:he cruelly brainwashes Siren on the brink of her HeelFaceTurn]]. He's still a doofus in most of his appearances afterwards, though. [[spoiler: Then episode 34 happens.]]

* RoseHairedGirl: Hibiki as Cure Melody.
* ShipTease: Episode 38 is absolutely ''loaded'' with [[PuppyLove Souta/Ako]] ship tease, although there's been small hints here and there beforehand.
* SixthRanger: Cure Muse [[IWasJustPassingThrough (maybe)]]. [[spoiler: After episodes 35 and 36? Definitely.]]
** Siren [[FaceHeelRevolvingDoor finally comes around]] in episode 21 and becomes Cure Beat.

** The 3 rings formed from the Combination of Melody, Rhythm, and Beat's Precure Music Rondo are the same color and in the same order as the rings formed from [[Series/KamenRiderOOO the Scanning Charge of the default form of a certain Kamen Rider]].
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Hibiki, or rather, Cure Melody. The show is decently balanced normally, but come battle time, Hibiki kills more baddies, gets the {{Upgrade Artifact}}s earlier, does all the {{Rousing Speech}}es and generally has everything revolve around her. Unsurprising, given she's an expy of [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Nagisa]] and [[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCureSplashStar Saki]], both known for being this as well.
** Ako is often accused for this. JustifiedTrope since [[spoiler:she joins so late in the series and only appeared once in a while before.]]

* TalkingTheMonsterToDeath: [[spoiler:Muse did it twice to Mephisto in episode 36. The Cures attempted this to Baritone and Bassdrum in episode 42, but failed as Falsetto quickly re-brainwashed them. And finally the Cures defeated Noise in this way, all while launching every single finishers they have,]]

* ThisIsUnforgivable: Hibiki and Kanade usually said this before their TransformationSequence, to the point of CatchPhrase status.
** Deconstructed when Siren has a HeelFaceTurn. Hibiki and Kanade are so shocked at this and, remembering how many times they had said this, start questioning whether Siren is really unforgivable. [[spoiler:TheReveal that all the initial antagonists are brainwashed and the real BigBad is not truly evil also hammer the point down. By the time of FinalBattle, the Cures finally decide that the only way they can have a closure is for both sides to forgive each other.]]
** Also PlayedForLaughs at the end of Episode 2 when [[KindheartedCatLover Kanade]] [[{{Squee}} emotionally melts]] just after shaking [[MentorMascot Hummy's]] paw. Kanade herself shouts the line at Hibiki for trying to tell the whole town about this incident as the scene transitions into a PastelChalkedFreezeFrame.

* VillainsOutShopping: In episode 26, Mephisto is very annoyed to discover Trio the Minor chilling out at the beach. Baritone even built a sandcastle.

Anytime they don't get along, they greatly lose the ability to fight the [[MonsterOfTheWeek Negatones]]. Of course this being ''Anime/PrettyCure'', the {{Reconstruction}} soon ensues so that they can defeat the [[MonsterOfTheWeek Negatones]] and [[GottaCatchEmAll collect]] the [[PlotCoupon Notes]] to the [[{{Magic Music}} Legendary Score]].
* WatchWhereYoureGoing: Hibiki and Kanade have managed to crash into each other twice. Once in the beginning of episode 2, which sends them both into a tree, and then again in the beginning of episode 5, smacking their faces together.
