Susan Davis: Bugs Bunny is so not the God of Laughter. His mission isn't to make people laugh, it's to get ahead on his own terms — peace and quiet, carrots, trickery, revenge, perhaps a moment alone with that nice female bunny. He's also clearly not of a Good alignment — in fact, he's pretty much the ultimate embodiment of Chaotic Neutral. And just try writing a character sheet for him in the Tabletop Games Toon — he's that game's ultimate power. Chutzpah, all the way.

Susan Davis: The more I think of this, the less I think Bugs belongs here. He's clearly the chief Trickster figure of the entire pantheon, and ought to be one of the lead figures in Mentalism... if not in the Main House itself.

Servbot: "His mission isn't to make people laugh" Must... resist... putting Batman's Joker... as God of Laughter...

Rogue 7: Bumped Cthullu up to greater god status. If anyone's a greater God, it's the ol' squid-faced terror that haunts your dreams.

Pete Man: Isn't Shadow somewhat of a representation of a lot of what's wrong with Sonic? Why isn't he a disgrace? And also, we shouldn't have more than one represent the same concept.

Vorpal: Nominating Rei for Goddess of Emotionlessness and Asuka for Goddess of... Sheer Bitchiness

Donomni: Fixed up that bit with Shadow. He really wasn't that bad in his first appearance.

Laevatein: I really don't see how Bugs isn't good. He's a genuinely nice guy, and most of his antics are when he's fighting back against someone who's trying to buly/harass/hunt him.

Exploding Frogs: True, but Neutral people can be nice guys too. They're just not the sort of people who actively pursue justice. Bugs Bunny tends to just go about his business when left unprovoked, neither harming nor helping others in any significant way, which makes him more Neutral than Good.

Shay Guy: I demand that Megatron be cast out and replaced with a certain Rozen Maiden character, desu. I mean, come on.

Charred Knight: No, I would rather stay away from insanely obscure crap. Rozen Maiden is only known by one character saying desu alot. I would rather just have characters that are popular. Also Megatron is a badass especially the Beast Wars version.

Exploding Frogs: Given that Albedo and Luca Blight are both pretty much the equal of Kefka, with differences in the scale of their actions being mainly due to the scale of their respective games rather than being any more or less Axe Crazy, I propose that the seat of Madness and Hate should instead be a triumvirate consisting of all three of them.
Chris X: I do believe that Guy Shishioh should not be following Anime Tenchou, but Kamina instead. Come on, Courage is also one of Guy's strong points, right? Also for a question... does Driven to Suicide count as Emo and those who are like that should follow Heero?

Jackgar Prime: In fact, Guy should be the god of courage in place of Kamina. What with how much eh shouts about it, and the fact that Gao Gai Gar is RUN on courage.

Chris X: Gurren Lagann is more popular... Maybe that's why.

Jackgar Prime: I'd like to propose that while Kefka should remain god of madness, the hate part should be moved to the supercomputer/deity AM of 'I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream'. This quote from AM himself should say it all: "HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE."

Andygal: I hope nobody minds that I added Drizzt Do'Urden as a Follower of Wangst, it seemed appropriate.

Chris X: Removed Leon/Judas being a Heero follower, when Heero decided to change his portfolio from Emo to Stoicness. Because Leon's forte is not Stoicness, but Emoness.
Freezair For A Limited Time: Methinks we need a god or goddess of perserverance/determination. All of those Determinators and Plucky Girls need someone to worship, after all! I can't think of a really epitomizing example right now, but other people can, I'm sure. Anyone?
The Toon Geekette: How about a God of Tear Jerking? Do we have that? Because I was thinking about adding Andrew "Finding Nemo and WALL-E" Stanton as that. (Or would that be unnecessary, considering WALL-E and EVE are already God and Goddess of Heartwarming?)

EDIT: Added him anyway. Feel free to change or remove the entry if you don't like it.

Vampire Buddha: I've replaced Nozomu Itoshiki with Despair of the Endless as God of Despair. I'm mora familiat with SZB, but it is more thematically appropriate to have a Sandman character as a god of something. Also, I'd say it's better to list semi-obscure comic characters than very obscure anime characters. If someone could expand this section, tht would be great.

Here's what was listed for Itoshiki, for the sake of posterity.

Nozomu Itoshiki, God of Despair (Itoshiki-sensei, Zetsubou-sensei, Pink Supervisor)
*Demigod
*Symbol: A chalkboard...completely black
*Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
*Portfolio: Despair, Grandiose Statements, Wacky Homeroom Teachers, Failed Suicide Attempts
* Domains: Chaos, Suffering
* Allies: Shinji Ikari, Grandfather Nurgle
* Ascended when his one of his almost daily suicide attempts finally went so horribly wrong that, not only did he not die, he ended up becoming immortal. His only solace is that Shinji's even more screwed up than he is.
* Nozomu would like to inform all of his followers that the constant pressure he has to endure as a god has left him in despair.
* Is often doted on by Grandfather Nurgle since he is a major source of his power. He was the one who granted Itoshiki immortality so that he could bask in his delicious despair for all eternity. Of course, the moment he found this out, he was immediately driven to despair.

Joysweeper: I was thinking about adding Vanyel Ashkevron in here, but both Wangst and Woobie are already taken. Isn't there a trope for the character who has ridiculously horrible angst-causing things happening to him all the time?

Black Charizard: If the angst-causing things are contrived and forced, it could be Deus Angst Machina. Tropes for characters who seem to be the universe's plaything are The Chew Toy and Butt-Monkey (the difference is explained in Canonical List of Subtle Trope Distinctions), but they're already covered.

The Wanderer: I'd like to make a small recommendation: to have Jin from Samurai Champloo be listed as one of the followers of Heero Yuy, aka the God of Stoicism.
Eriksson: May I nominate That Guy with the Glasses as the God of Shocked Reactions ? Perhaps the "shocked" emoticon or his iconic pistol (probably pointed at a VHS tape) as his symbol, portfolio includes The Take and Brain Bleach, chaotic neutral, domains include Drama, Madness (maybe), and (also maybe) Chaos. Opposed to The Angry Video Game Nerd.

Chris X: Which version are you talking about? That Guy With The Glasses? The Nostalgia Critic? Or Chester A. Bum?

Woldoor: I was wondering why Eeyore is a follower of Grumpy Bear, yet he isn't the god of his own trope, The Eeyore. That just seems kind of strange.
Traveler: May I suggest Tyler Durden as the god of the Id?
Chris X: Well that was quick, Dentaku... Explain why you would have her as the Goddess, if it wasn't for fanboyism alone?

Dentaku: Well, if you know Ichigo Mashimaro you know she basically deserves the title. I added her in the hope that people would add some amusing bits, but everything was rather lame. Miu doesn't deserve that, so I pulled it. Mission failed.

Chris X: Gaining power to Overdeity is way too much, though. Even if Miu is the patron saint of Jerkass, she has yet to attain the cult status equaling with Haruhi. I say it's fine to add her as the Goddess of Jerkass, but Lesser Goddess is as much as she can go. Putting her on the same level of Haruhi, or even Mr. Rogers... well that's way too much.

Dentaku: Miu will have Haruhi for breakfast, sprinkled with chocolate frosties, as a side dish for her pudding. Besides, a Jerkass not only behaves as an asshole, but also gets away with it for no special reason. People put up with Haruhi since she is considered to be god-like, whereas Miu is just a young girl. In any case, she's at least a Greater Goddess, but you heathen scum kept relegating her to Lesser God status! There have been wars fought over lesser matters than this outright blasphemy!

Chris X: Your fanboyism isn't helping your case. What you speak of is more along the line of Karma Houdini.

Dentaku: One thing, Chris X: simply cutting other people's entries from the discussion page is extremely rude. But you're right in that this discussion is going nowhere, so I will gracefully bow out of this one. Peace!

Chris X: You haven't realized what you are doing, have you? You say that, and suddenly you added Miu back. Changed your mind already?

Yes, everyone ARE fanboys. But... even they know their limit and NOT put their favorite Gods as suddenly 'Greater God/Goddess' if they're not really well known amongst the fandom. Now, does everyone know Ichigo Mashimaro as much as they know, let's say, Haruhi Suzumiya? And does Miu has such Deus ex Machina God-Mode Sue power to even defeat someone like Jin, who is not just an A-Class Asshole, but will kill anyone that pisses him off? If your answer is "I have never heard of Blazblue", then it just sums up your fangirlism and ignorance. I was the one who added Jin, but I don't elevate him right away into a Greater God, because I know his limitation and I'm not overglorifying him. And if you're trying to be a Jerk, remember that the ones contributing TV Tropes are humans in real life. And sometimes, real life doesn't work like fictions. A Jerkass in real life NEVER gets loved. What you're doing is not about 'funny'. When you say "I ALWAYS GET WHAT I WANT"... know that it's NOT going to work against the other contributors who are humans.

I do admit that it was rude of me to change that without telling. However, even if the Trope Pantheon is Just for Fun, it doesn't mean you can do ANYTHING you like. There are some norms and ethics to follow. Yes, I do broke away that ethic before, but seriously, that kinda of 'sudden elevation' is also against the ethics. Nobody is going to like it when people just suddenly add their favorite character from a very obscure thing that is not very influental to the media, and suddenly declare them 'Greater God/Goddess'.

I'll leave your Miu entry, but... I'm pretty sure that other tropers will try to depower her. Because that's what happens previously.

Trope Kira; Plus, the only time it's added is when something merits it. I've only elevated the status of a character 3 times. And one was a plot-related raise and the other two would make sense considering what I witnessed.

Dentaku: I am perplexed that people take these Pantheon page so seriously, since they are clearly meant to be a mere joke and a way to present characters to people who don't know them. Who in his right mind would give a damn about those silly god rankings? I find the idea of a hyperactive little girl as an Overdeity or Greater Goddess simply to be very funny. That's all there is to it. The whole point of this section is that entries should be amusing. And yes, that means that there could be several Overdeities floating around, as long as it causes a few smiles.

Besides, anyone who claims that Ichigo Mashimaro is "obcure" has clearly been living in a bucket in the middle of the Sahara, guarded by the Raving Hounds of Hell. If you don't know Ichigo Mashimaro, check it out for yourself and find out why Miu can easily be called the Greater God of Jerkasses. You might also learn a thing or two about humor.

Entries should not be measured by the popularity of a series anyway, but by the merits of the characters themselves. I have never heard of many of the other characters either, and I often disagree with the entries of those that I do know, but you don't see me messing with them just because of that.

So to make clear: I was not miffed about Miu's de-ranking in and of itself, but by totally unfunny changes to her entry. I get riled up about this since I feel that the number of trolls and vandals has been gone up steadily over the last few months—a trend that quite frankly worries me. To make my point, I made Miu into a demigoddess. It's just cuter (and funnier) that way, since Miu would indeed seem to be the one to suck up to the greater gods, just to steal their pudding.

Schizo Technician: I don't mind the humor. All I want is the rank to reflect our order here. David Xanatos himself, MASTER of manipulation, who is about as powerful as someone constrained by mortality and vaugely realistic personal physics can be, is far from being a Greater God. Before elevating a normal character to Greater God, I ask myself- are they more deserving of this position than the eponymous Xanatos? Generally, no. They aren't. Humor? I honestly wasn't paying attention. All I care about is that one little word: "greater". And it did not fit. Every single god here was put in by a person who thought that they were the best possible person for the job. If every god who was such a perfect fit got the title of "Greater", we'd end up with nothing lower than "intermediate".

Chris X: Exactly what I'm trying to say, Schizo. We ARE fanboys, we know we want the best for our characters. But we must know our limits. If we want to take a middle road, I do suggest that she gets the similar dual-position like Flandre Scarlet. In Miu's case, her influence might be about Greater Goddess, but in terms of power, she's just a Lesser Goddess, or even Lesser Deity. To add up humor, we can also add up about how Miu tried to throw get attention to some Gods/Goddesses, but some are not fooled and takes advantage of her low power to KILL her if she pisses them off, but the House of Life & Death always bring her back to normal after getting killed. Well, just an idea.

Do we have a god of Loneliness yet? If not, I'd like to nominate Starrk. God of Laziness could also work.
