MistressMinako: Please don't needlessly edit the main entry. Use discretion and consider if your intended change would really enhance the article.

ReplisMonathin: Between Starry and I, this page has gotten back into pretty good shape. Please make sure all future edits, while not needing to be discussed, try to stay away from Fanon Shipping (Except in the cases where there's plenty of evidence in the show itself, such as Yuusei/Aki and Jack/Carly) and Justifying Edits over various hot-button topics.(Aki's character development/derailment. Crow legitimacy as Canon Sue, etc.) I have trimmed the discussion page to reflect the trimming up of the page to it's 'new' state.

The markup for trope pages to link back to the article is {{' 'Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds' '}}, with quotes removed: Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds
Spinel - I don't want to go starting an edit war over this, but I think the Better Than It Sounds link was just fine and perfectly appropriate on the top of the main article, considering the trope itself is about the ridiculousness of a show's premise not holding it back, and not a statement of objective quality. For that matter, a disappointing number of the tropes linked on this page are used incorrectly. Please read the trope page closely before you decide that this series contains a notable example of that trope.

Point out major offenders in question, please? Though I do think the Better Than It Sounds link did work quite well in the link. Though there wass minor edit warring over putting (Well, it was) after it. So. - Replis Monathin

An Inept Troper: Since the discussion page has started up again, I would like to ask a question before blundering ahead; does the Infinity Arc class as Lighter and Softer?

So far, compared to the Dark Signer Arc, it would seem so. Put a YMMV mark on it, just in case. -Replis Monathin

Starry: Two things, should the Dark Signer arc be classified as the second season of 5D's or should it be merged with the first major arc (Episodes 1-26). And should original and English dubbed names both be used? I've noticed several entries marked with both names and I'm trying to establish some consistency here.

Replis Monathin:Technically, if my knowledge of Japanese seasons are right, a typical Anime season lasts around 26-27 Episodes. While the Dark Signer Arc definitely lasted much longer than that, I think it's safe to say that Dark Signer Arc would be considered the second season. There's a drastic difference between the mystery of the first season (The Fortune Cup Arc) and the rather lighthearted nature of the third. (The Infinity/WRGP Arc)

Second, use both Japanese and English names where there is distinct difference (Such as Akiza/Aki and Leo/Rua/Lua and Luna/Ruka/Luka), but I think in the case of a slight change (Yusei versus Yuusei, Goodwin versus Godwin, etc.) It should be up to the editor. It's hard to remain consistent with both versions of the names, but we can try. (Except with the twins. Do what you want with them.)

Hem Ntjr Seth: The dub/Japanese name issue is now solved through the use of the Dub Name Change trope. Important characters are listed in a higher level than minor characters, Japanese names now have an arrow pointing to the dub name, and it's all alphabetized. This makes a lot more sense than randomly scattering dub names here and there. Before it looked like we just didn't care about consistency. Something that particularly bugged me was that Rua's dub name Leo was placed here and there without mentioning the name "Rua". As there is now an actual character in the Japanese version named Leo, it just seemed careless.

On a different note, the trope list is getting ridiculously long. Is there any way that we can reorganize tropes by category and collapse them to conserve room?

Replis Monathin: Thanks for your work on the dub cleanup, I really appreciate it. And we were trying to work on moving most of the character-specific tropes to the character sheet (Which itself needs a revamp), but I don't think we ever got around to it.

Lale: In all earnestness, is this show a homage to Les Miserables, or is it just me? No sooner do I think the Inspector Javert-relentlessly-pursuing-The Hero-who's-been-released-from-prison-and-marked-as-an-ex-con-and-social-pariah is over and I was imagining things when BOOM "A Little Fall Of Rain" appears in Turn 59!

Replis Monathin: I haven't read Les Miserables, so I wouldn't know. But considering how much Konami likes their Shout Outs...
