While I didn't expect much going into this game, it was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The shorter, tighter, and more focused narrative helped it greatly compared to the mess that is Second Son.
Even though the map activities are still pretty repetitive, the new activities are fun instead of tedious thanks to the much better controls. I absolutely LOVE the new light speed dash, which even allows you to go through obstacles like balconies, which was always a problem with the original Second Son light speed dash.
While Shane was a pretty flat villain, they REALLY did a good job making you hate him. I felt it was kinda cheap that they made it so he was directly responsible for Fetch killing Brent though, instead of making it Fetch's own fault. I also find Augustine's portrayal in this game surprising. I loved how she was this manipulative, corruptive mentor, instead of the crazy evil bitch you see in Second Son, almost giving off a prequel Palpatine vibe.
I only wish that there's more stuff to do in the Seattle hub world. Because once you finish all the map activities (which there aren't that many of) there's almost nothing to do.
VideoGame Surprisingly stellar experience
