I read "Three Months" some time ago, back when I was gobbling up Naruto fanfic like licorice bits. I loved it then. I reread it a while ago, and man. For a doorstopper-length crackpairing fic, this is amazing. The characters are dead on, Sasuke gets dragged back without making him a nice guy, Naruto is an oblivious nut without being a jerk, and all the pairings just WORK. Despite being over 200k words, it drags you along at a brisk pace. My only complaint is some plot points being reiterated too many times - the fact that Tsunade made an open bet against Sakura/Kiba being a thing in a few months could have been mentioned just once and it would have been more memorable. Other than that? It's great, and those that are pissed about the pairings in Naruto Final/Gaiden can squint and pretend that this happened in the aftermath of the series. Kind of. Except Neji's still alive, so that doesn't really work at all. Forget that part, it's still good.
FanficRecs Surprisingly solid!
