What really makes this fic stand out from many Soul Eater fics is that Maka, despite being in big trouble, is not saved by Soul; in fact, it's the other way around! This fic also shines when it comes to the little details it adds in to show that things are happening juuuust a bit differently from canon. Some minor examples include Maka's mom rushing down when she hears Maka was hurt, talk of Maka's past before Soul as a weapon, and Maka getting loaded with the guilt that was canonly felt by Soul. The biggest thing this story has going for it though, in my opinion, are the differences between Maka's 'Inner Room' and Soul's 'Inner Room', perfectly displaying the differences in their psychology and personality. A must read for any Soul Eater fan.
