There's a couple things that set this fanfic apart from a lot of Captain America movieverse fics out there. First, the framing structure of the story is brilliant, each chapter prefaced by a portion of the television interview that most of the story is leading up to. It's not jarring in the slightest, beautifully scripted and each segment of the interview draws some parallels to the chapter that it prefaces - and if you just put the interview acts together it would still read as a seamless scripted interview.
Second, the author did an incredible amount of research on American history in the 30's and 40's and it shows in so many meticulous details that never detract from the story. The characterization is great all around (and Tony one-upping Jameson and the media on Steve's behalf never fails to make me smile) and the ending is pitch-perfect.
