Yeah everyone giving the mom a pass is grating on me. I'm getting an abuser vibe from her, and I don't think Shin-ae should have to deal with a mother in law like that.

I want Quimchee to troll them. Next episode have the mom go "LOL jk, he's marrying Meg" and see how fast the shippers turn on her.

Since I'm a multi shipper and i favour both boys i don't mind whoever Shin-Ae ends up with. But when I brought up that the mum was being gross someone actually told me that ' she was just messing with Meg. And surrogate mother's are a thing' and it has me really confused because it was still mega rude, you don't say that to someone you just met! The same way I ended up supporting Alyssa and Maya because of all her hate, I'll probably end up disliking the fanbase again with this issue

My dear cold blooded king has a similar problem. The main character has been slipped what's basically a date-rape drug, and a lot of readers don't seem to mind because she might end up having sex with one of the bishonen Love interests.

Eh really?! I stopped reading that story for a while because the artstyle, while pretty, was usually so stiff especially expression wise i had difficulty taking scenes seriously. I don't think its a must that people must ship unproblematic pairings (after all, my dark history with stuff like diabolik lovers revolved around me liking the biting scenes for some reason), but our heroine is kind of in trouble, you'd think mass outrage over her being stripped of her will would be a thing but apparently not 😖

And even if you say that, people will just tell you 'chill, you're taking the story too seriously'. I mean, they're not wtong buts it's difficult to not be alarmed. One character sets her friend up for a date (something that for the most part wasnt even her idea) and when the date is over and youve finished talking about how lucky she is to go out with 2 handsome guys, when she shows she's upset THAT'S when you realise setting her up without consent was wrong and proceed to believe that the character has suddenly turned into some crazy jealous girl out to ruin her freunds life. But another character is being forceful and not in the 'we're friends and it's for your own good way' and it's fine?

From the latest update, shes still sketchy, but Meg's obnoxiousness drowns out her negative traits so for now she's hanging on neutral ground

We'll see. She has a lot to answer for like that death glare she gave Yeong-gi. I strongly suspect she's given him a lot of grief.

I'm kind of disappointed we didn't get to see what happened when Kousuke got Meg alone. I was anticipating seeing how he'd top the makeup remover spray move.

I take back my neutral stance, after todays update i kind of hate her. Shes rude, imposing, and the fact that nobody in the comments is pointing this out is stressing me out

Some of the commenters are starting to come around but there's plenty more going "GO MOM! KEEP IT UP!" I've tried objecting but I get downvoted into oblivion.

Stealing Shin-ae's stuff to hold her hostage? That was the point where I classified her as unredeemable.

I also have to blame the author a bit for having Shin-ae go along with this. I mean, voluntarily taking off her clothing when the mom is trying to commit date rape by proxy?! And why isn't Kousuke intervening and going "ENOUGH OF THIS BULLSHIT!"

He snarks, but he seems to have difficulty defying his mom. Not as much a Yeong-gi though, and i wish hed get more angry as well. I refrain from blaming the author, since she shows Shin-Ae herself being uncomfortable with the situation. And i feel you in the whole 'object and you get down voted' bizz. I like my ship tease as much as the next guy, but maybe if the situation took place when they actually like each other but refuse to confess and the mom was replaced by Maya I'd have more fun with. Here its just super creepy and I'm confused why they can accept this but were ready to jump on Maya after the whole prank thing and accuse her of trying to 'steal Yeong-ji' even though it made zero sense in context

To the very end she was smiling...what an unnerving woman. Someone in the comments compared her to Lady Macbeth, pretty fitting if you ask me

Well, the latest ep revealing she's Mr Date Rape's supplier seems to have woken up even the Kousuke zealots to what kind of creature she is, for what it's worth.
