  • Bittersweet Ending:
    • The end of the first season. Hughie's vendetta against A-Train is dealt with personally. Starlight stands up for herself and chooses to act heroically in spite of whoever she's working for. The truth about the Supes, their victims, and Compound V are out in the open and the Boys know everything. But the truth isn't all good, especially for Butcher. His wife is still alive, and she's been raising the son she had with Homelander. And with Supes now cropping up in hostile terrorist organizations, no one cares about Compound V or Vought's shady dealings, since only their Supes can respond to this new threat. To make matters worse, though Hughie and The Boys escape, they have no backup, no way to escape, an unconscious Kimiko and a shot and wounded Frenchie.
    • Season 2 ends no different. Stormfront is incapacitated and outed to the world as a Nazi so even if she recovers she's ultimately persona non grata. Homelander is forced to stand down by Maeve which means the Boys are allowed to go free and resume their lives however they see fit. Starlight goes back into the Seven, but with Maeve as backup she's allowed to go back to her original, wholesome persona with no fear. Lastly, with the thread defused Hughie and Starlight resume their relationship. However Becca is dead, Ryan is forced to live in federal custody out of safety, and Congresswoman Neuman turns out to be the head exploder and takes out the head of the Church of the Collective which may or may not mean that she's a Vought spy. Oh and Hughie picks this exact time to exit the Boys and join Neuman to fight Vought "legally". Oops.

This is an ending trope, and the series hasn't ended yet. Season breaks aren't really endings.

This trope can be applied to anything that has an ending - even a single episode of a show, not to mention a whole season.

If the trope can be used for a single episode, then it's valid to re-added.

  • Artistic License – Physics: Homelander leaves the airliner door open long enough to totally depressurize the cabin and cause most occupants without super abilities to lose consciousness. Despite this, everyone seems unaffected.

Wouldn't this depend on how high the airplane was flying? Is that ever established?

According to this table, people have up to 5 minutes of consciousness at a height of 25,000 feet. I have no reason to believe they flew lower than that.

According to him the show has left it ambiguous. Maybe confirmation in season 2.
