Well, okay, I can get behind that, but the things I moved from level 6 to level 5 I think should stay in level 5, even with that definition, because looking at their youtube views, I don't thnk they are obscure enough to reach the highest tier of obscurity. There's going to be a lot of youtube channels where the videos have viewcounts in the single digits, or artists who drop an album that gets completely lost in the sea of bandcamp releases, that's the kinda thing I'd say would warrant a level 6 without actually being inaccessible.
I'm barely there, I'm everywhereIn response to the edit reason for the Dec 2nd 2021 at 9:16:49 PM edit by kirby007, level 6 is described as being for stuff that are impossible to find, so unless we change the definition the examples I moved from level 6 don't belong there.
I'm barely there, I'm everywhereShould the Web Original section have Let's Play in it? Should Let's Play be in its own separate section? There's already Dream SMP and raocow in there; the reason why I'm asking this is because there weren't any works under the Let's Play namespace in this list before those two (Game Grumps is in the Web Video namespace).
Hide / Show RepliesIf there are no questions then I'll start adding Let's Play examples to the Web Original section.
I believe that there are 3 examples in Web Original that are WAY too obscure for level 3: Doodle Toons, Greeny Phatom, and Mugman. I've never even heard of them before I visited this page. Comparing to another Level 3 example, The Irate Gamer, more people are likely to know TIG than any of those 3. They also have less tropes and subpages than some level 3 or 2 examples. Meanwhile, Oddity Archive sits comfortably at level 4, and I haven't heard about it either but the amount of tropes, subpages, and channel views provide a decent definition for a level 4 in Web Original. As for the obscurity of the 3 series on You Tube: Doodle Toons is practically impossible to tell since the channel was closed, Greeny Phatom may also be so due to what constitutes as an episode or not, and Mugman's most viewed episode has 115K views, less than the most viewed video of Oddity Archive (493K views). I'd say that Greeny Phatom would probably be in the 4-5 range, Doodle Toons and Mugman would lean more towards 5, and The Dups would likely be a 6 due to the sheer lack of content on the pages (6 tropes, no subpages, etc.) and it being more obscure than Mugman. Remember, this is just a thought, and I'm new to this, so I have no idea what is a definitive example of a level in media obscurity pages with less examples on each level. (but I believe The Irate Gamer and Oddity Archive fit as level 3 and 4 examples, respectively) This is also why I had trouble with Music examples, since there were so few examples after level 2, and especially from level 4 and beyond.
Hide / Show RepliesI'm going to go back on my word for this: Doodle Toons, Greeny Phatom, and Mugman are perfectly fine in the 3-4 range. Greeny Phatom probably is the one most suited for 3 because it's existed for the longest amount of time (therefore, more people have heard of it...maybe?), and because the amount of subpages is more than Doodle Toons or Mugman. For Mugman, I think a 4 would do good by now. As for Doodle Toons... well, cartoonlover's YTP channel was closed down, and the other channel now has only one video, and it's not of the show. Aside from his DeviantArt page having 744K views, I'm not sure if I know the current obscurity level of Doodle Toons, thought it's probably no more obscure than 4.
As for knowledge on the series: haven't heard of Mugman before TV Tropes except for the Cuphead character, nor Greeny Phatom, either. The same applies to Doodle Toons, though I have known its creator before for making Youtube Poop videos.
Don't anyone think that the first Obscurity page should focus on the mediums that have emphasis on being fictionally made (Anime, Western Animation, Video Games, Comic Books, and Web Original) and this Obscurity page to focus on mediums that have greater focus with the real world (Live-Action Shows Film, Music, Literature)?

Tier 6 in both pages isn't just for things that are impossible to find; it's also for things that are unheard of enough that a fandom or community is nonexistent, so maybe we could change the description of tier 6 to the following:
Level 6: For things that, while they exist, have barely been heard of by anyone and thus have extremely small to nonexistent fandoms, or seem to be impossible to find, even on the internet with modern proliferation of filesharing, etc.
