Some hockey purists, particularly Canadians, believe that the NHL's expansion/relocation into the Sunbelt in the 1990s (Tampa Bay, Dallas, Florida, Phoenix, Carolina, and Nashville [Atlanta no longer counts since they are now in Winnipeg]) ruined the league.
