I propose we use the cover to Detective Comics #880 as the new trope image. Pure Nightmare Fuel, just right for the trope.

Uhm, this may sound a bit ridiculous, but can the picture be changed to someone else? The picture Would fit if the subject was actually evil, and not a tragic hero.

You're correct that a picture of an evil smile would be better, but as this image still demonstrates the trope (albeit technically in an inaccurate manner), we'll have to stick with it until or unless someone can show us an alternative.
