Rule Zero works both ways, when you think about it. "Power derives from a mandate from the masses." If your GM is being unreasonable, find a new GM. It could be GM burn out or just that the GM is a jerk, and usually it's best to talk through the issue. However, you can only make excuses for so long before you're simply enabling abuse (of Rule Zero). In real life, I've dealt with this myself and have at least one GM I refuse to play with again.

Rule 0 is traditionally known as "It's just a game". It encompasses the ideas that Role Playing and Table Top games are just that, games that are meant to be fun. To ensure fun all players must make allowances, the GM must be allowed to change rules as he see fit but must not abuse this power to the determent of the other player's fun; players must be allowed to question and discuss GM rulings within reason and respectfully enough that the GM also has fun. This should supersede all other rules for obvious reasons.
