Okay, so I was bored and did a Google Image Search of Darry. I was curious as to what Google returned (especially since she is rather ignored, seriously she Needs More Love) and found this.
(NSFW). It was rather... unexpected (but not entirely unwelcome).
Does it have to be an apron? I'm thinking of an example when the guy wants the girl to cook him breakfast naked for his birthday. She refuses — bacon grease is hot. So he puts her in his shirt, nothing else, no panties, which barely covers her butt. There's even a quote I think fits this trope:

When he asks if she's wearing anything else she turns around to reveal she's wearing a swimsuit underneath. The suggestion of Lana Turner naked under an apron only lasted a minute.
