What about Mjolnir (the legendary hammer of the Viking God Thor in both Norse mythology and Marvel's comicbook universe)? I don't see a reason it wouldn't count since it has a name, and in the marvel universe (and possibly mythology as well; I'm not much of the mythology buff), it also has a degree of sentience (enough to tell if someone is "worthy" of its power) and the ability to grant its wielder the power of Thor himself.
