A huge number of the current examples don't seem to "get" this trope. It's supposed to be for a duel that suddenly one side gets reinforcements in, usually the villainous side. Of the examples I'm familiar with the base work, there's essentially a 100% chance it's being used just for "you fight this enemy and they have support", with this often being very bog standard for the game (e.g. Diablo). And sometimes not even that (there is a Final Fantasy 8 example against basically a single boss?!). It seems like there should be a severe culling and any remaining examples should clearly explain how this trope applies - i.e. that there's a fake-out where it looks like a duel at first, but isn't a duel.
