Why is the classification of Dead Space controversial? System Shock 2 is the first game that comes to mind in terms of comparison.
Should Space Station 13 be considered an immersive sim ? It has a large, believable, lived-in space, player agency, systemicity, emergence, consistency, reactivity, physicality and, while it's not a campaign game, non-linearity in a sense. The only thing it's missing is 3D.
Should it be added?
EDIT : You know what, I'm adding it in. It can be removed later if people disagree, but I'm not sure how long it'll take until someone reads this.
Edited by Denterroquet Hide / Show RepliesAnyone who follows the page also follows the discussion tab. :-) For the record, instead of quoting "some people" on the topic, you should instead just list all the aspects of the game that make it an immersive sim in your opinion, and add it to the list.
"System Shock 3 (TBA, Other Side) is currently in development, with Warren Spector and Doug Church back at the helm, and promises to be true to its predecessors' principles."
This is outdated. I'm new here so I did not want to edit the article myself, but according to Spector his company sadly no longer works on System Shock 3. From Wikipedia page of Other Side: "In March 2022, Warren stated that System Shock 3 is not being developed by Other Side. It remains to be seen if the game is cancelled."
