I wonder if this trope would be better if it was expanded to include all examples of interacting with static images? As it is, the trope only covers instances where a character becomes part of the image by getting their head stuck in it. What about examples where characters interact with the image intentionally to hide in plain sight? They literally become part of the image, without having to damage or deface it. A good example of this would be the scene in The Iron Giant, where the giant pretends to be part of a massive billboard so he can hide in plain sight.
