Yami Yugi is about 15 years old, a year younger than Yugi, so this isn't a straight example. It might be a subversion, though:

Yu-Gi-Oh!. Yugi has absolutely huge eyes, Yami has smaller, more diamond-shaped eyes.

I feel like this article could be a lot more detailed, but I really dunno where to start. Like the real world reasons as to why aging is shown the way it is in animation, and less of a focus on Anime and just look at all animation styles in general.
