I'm not sure what category this would go under. Theory about the ending of the Jack Slater movie where the bad guy gets shot and pulls Jack Slater's son off the roof.

Could this be reference to the Roderick Thorp novel that Die Hard was based on? The Mc Clain kills the bad guy and the bad guy pulls the his daughter to her death. They both fall off the roof. The same director did Die Hard and Last Action Hero so he would be aware of the novel.
